Our waiter, Jimmy, was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely enjoyable to talk with--a true professional. The view was superb, and the room itself felt warm and cozy. It's truly unfortunate that it's a members-only club, because I would dine there far more often if I could! Overall, I give the entire experience a big thumbs up. My cousin is a member. I enjoyed the Norfolk Jazz Fest from the outdoor seating area. When we first arrived, they were accommodating changing our seats from at the wall to next to the window. No one came to take our drink order once we were seated. 10 minutes had gone by and then one of the hosts came by and told us they had a table for us outside which was a nice treat. Again, sat at the table for about 20 minutes before a waitperson arrived to take our order. We decided to give drink and food order right when we had her attention. We told her when we wanted the appetizers to come out first. They had a popcorn snack that we weren't even served until we asked about it. The food arrived all together. Despite the pace of the service, the food was beyond delicious! It was a New Orleans themed dinner and it was amazing. The last disappointment of the evening was when we ordered another round of drinks. It took us over 50 minutes to receive our drinks and had to not only remind our waitperson but ask 2 other people. I suggest they hire the appropriate number of staff (bartenders, waitpeople etc) to handle the volume for a special event. I'm not sure about how the other patrons felt about the pace of the service but for this to be my first impression as a guest especially when my cousin is a regular who comes at least twice a month, it was not what I expected. This review is for those considering hosting an event at Town Point Club. I am not a member, so I don't want to mislead anyone about what membership looks like, but given my experience with the venue and their support of our event, I would definitely consider joining if I lived in the area. The venue ballroom that we held our event in was beautiful with a ridiculously nice outdoor balcony that gave expansive views of the area. The staff was on point, getting everything set up correctly prior to the event start, and then did a great job of providing reception services and support during the event. This is definitely a location I would recommend to anyone needing to host their next event in the downtown Norfolk area. read more

We're not members. Hubby and I were invited to an event that took place here. Town Point Club is inside the World Trade Center in Waterside in Norfolk. They had valet parking available so of course we took it; otherwise we would have had to park in the garage. This would not have been an issue as the garage is just across the street and with plenty of spaces. There was a brunch buffet for the event we were at and it was absolutely delicious! We had one of the most lovely meals I've ever had at Town Point Club. I've always wanted to have dinner at the club, and this year we were fortunate enough to get reservations during Norfolk's Restaurant Week. From the moment we walked in, we felt special. We were escorted to the main dining room and greeted by spectacular views of the Elizabeth River. We were seated by Jimmy White, who continued to make us feel like we were the only ones in the room the rest of the evening. His knowledge of the menus and attention to my special dietary needs were above and beyond. We can't praise the service staff more highly. My absolute favorite part is the view of the Norfolk waterfront from the top of the World Trade Center. Not a member but I've had several experiences here through annual work events and community non-profit fundraisers with pre-determined food and beverage offerings, some buffet style, some served by course. My most recent visit was a small group gathering, utilizing an attendee's 60-day membership, to celebrate my beautiful wife's birthday. Reservation made easily over the phone 3 days ahead. We opted to forgo valet and park on street since it was a nice night. Warm greeting by the hostess who offered to take our coats, then escorted us to our table in the Harbor dining room. TPC manager had special message cards printed in honor of the occasion. Nice touch! They allowed me to bring in a small cake, specially made by "the Bonbonnheir," and a candle, which they kept in the kitchen during dinner. Our server, Blake, politely introduced herself, shared the specials and nabbed drink orders: guys' Woodford on rocks (x3) arrived quickly; gals' blackberry bramble (x3) took significantly longer but wives said they were worth the wait. After After Blake brought some bread, we ordered Thai Chili glazed calamari (x2) that took a looong time to arrive, especially considering there were only 2 other tables dining. It was creamier than I had imagined, but still very good (4/5). All steak entrees were SENSATIONAL: the filet, petite filet and shrimp, and Blackberry and BleuSteak salad. Honestly, their filet is among the top 5 I've had in my life; perfect middle of med-rare/med temperature, tender texture, moist bite, and seared flavor that melts in your mouth. I should have gone with "meat and potatoes" when Blake couldn't give me any other details about the not so special salmon special. It was meh. FOMO casualty. Don't get me wrong, the salmon was moist, tender and seared perfectly. But for the portions, the overall flavor was just average; at $30, I'd hoped for more of a complimentary wow from the "lemon basil linguini." Tbh, I tasted zero basil! After dinner, Blake brought the cake out on a plate. It was lit (sorry, I couldn't resist). After I led the Harbor dining room in a chorus of HBD, Blake kindly brought me a knife, 6 forks and 6 small plates. A gratuity was added automatically but I added more in light of the staff's extra efforts. Men's restroom was clean with complimentary mouthwash, but a tad depleted in drying towels, likely because it was the end of the night. First of all the food is amazing! But I went to a membership event. I was ready to join so I patiently wait for the lady to finish with the gentleman in front of me. When she finishes the lady gets up and starts walking away from me. Rude. Strike 1. Ok so I follow her even though clearly I wanted to have a private conversation. So now we are in front of everyone at the front desk where she lies and say she emailed me and she hands me a packet. Strike 2. I notice in the packet that Seniors 65 and over, people under 40, and Active military get discounts on the monthly payment. So I ask why aren't veterans included in the military discount. She proceeds to say that this area is full of veterans and the Admirals on the board decided not to include them. Well this area is full of 65 and older people yet they are included. That was the last strike. How can retired military sit on a board and vote to exclude veterans like our 20+ years of service mean nothing. I make more than that monthly payment in one day but there is something about the disrespect and the disregard of veterans that turned me off. read more

I'm definitely thankful to be a member of Town Point Club, and there really hasn't been an entree that I didn't fall in love with. The staff there are amazing, and always treat you like you are welcomed there. I know sometimes the stigma of a "country club" is that if you aren't in a certain tax bracket, that you get treated less than, but the staff here have truly changed my mind about that stigma. Their Lunch and Learn series are absolutely great, and I wish I could go to more, and their buffet selections are just so delicious. Definitely love the Chicken Ribeye as my favorite right now, which I have never tried before until Town Point Club. When they have an open event, you have to go down and try them! The Town Point Club is a members-only professionals club and restaurant. I don't know too many people who belong. Mostly members are VPs, Execs or higher at large companies in Norfolk. I've attended an amazing engagement party at the Town Point Club. Everything was very elegant and the service was excellent. The food was in stations throughout the room and everything was delicious: pasta station, carving station, mashed potato bar, etc. It's a lovely venue, but not any better than the fancier hotels in the area. I've also had a business lunch at the Town Point Club. It was a buffet and the food was good, but nothing spectacular. It's business casual, but still the atmosphere is very formal and stiff. Definitely a see and be seen place. When you are not there for a private party, you get that "club" feel. I am definitely not into that kind of thing. I don't just say this because I could never get a membership (there was a time when I had the resources and connections to fit in with this business elite crowd). It's just too much networking and exclusivity. At least for me. Maybe I'm just not that socially and professionally ambitious. There's an upscale feel, lots of big wigs in Norfolk (and probably from all throughout Hampton Roads) conducting business, and great water views (and an outdoor patio) while also overlooking Town Point Park. What is Town Point Club? The best way I can describe it is that it's kinda like a country club - it's members only, with an initiation fee and monthly dues - and provides you access to not only that club, but a network of "professional clubs" across the country. Membership also gives you access to their Club Corp. concierge service, discounts at resorts, country clubs, etc. As the saying goes, membership has it's privileges. One of those privileges is a free complimentary meal each month at EACH club that is not in your local network. My local network is DMV, and my local club is the Tysons Corner Tower Club, but once a month I can eat for free at Town Point Club. I can also eat at any other club, once a month, for free. I got into the Tower Club for a very reduced rate because of a relationship they made with UVa. Alumni Association, and if I traveled for a living I would EASILY make up the reduced initiation and monthly fee taking advantage of these free meals. I had a client meeting in Virginia Beach on New Years Eve and was staying locally the night before. The wife was with me - spouse memberships are included for no additional charge - so we both were eligible for a free meal at Town Point Club. I called the Club Line, and they took care of the reservation. When we arrived, we opted for the nearby garage rather than the valet parking. Service here was generally good, as it is with other ClubCorp locations. We were greeted warmly, and after quick explanation they know who we were, had been expecting us, and led us into the mostly empty dining room. (I can't imagine many people were doing upscale dining on 12/30) The complimentary meal they offer is just plain nuts. I was pretty sure what was included , but asked the server to verify. He hadn't done a comp meal in a while so he, in turn, went to the back to verify. We were on the same page - it's a free appetizer, soup/salad, entree, and dessert for EACH of us. Alcoholic beverages and drinks are extra, of course, but gratuity is included. (I always leave extra though) Our meal was fantastic. They serve very refined, traditional, country club like food, meaning that you won't find anything overly creative here, but the classics are all here, well-executed, using quality product. The crab cakes were on point, their Caesar salad was fresh with a nice house-made anchovy dressing, the She Crab soup was good (but needed more "She"), seared duck breast was cooked perfectly, my wife loved the catch of the day (rainbow trout), and the deserts were well-executed, tasty classics. I haven't had a chance to dine at my local Tower Club very much - I have to pay for it up here! - but if it is anything like Town Point Club, I'll be happy. I'm definitely taking advantage of my membership privileges and coming to Town Point Club every time I'm in the Tidewater area. read more

Beautiful venue with a view of the waterfront and outside seating. Came for a wedding reception once and once for a lunch meeting. The wedding reception was beautiful, we enjoyed the outdoor views and outdoor seating. The couple did mention some booking issues where they had to change their date because preference was given to a member although they already paid their deposit so beware of that. The food for the wedding was AMAZING - fried chicken, Mac and cheese, sweet mashed potatoes, fish with salsa topping, loin carving station, everything was delicious and set up buffet style. The food for the lunch was also very good, typical sandwiches, salad and lunch fare. All in all, very nice place to host an event. read more

Fantastic dining experience, in taste, service, and ambience. We started with a cocktail on the second floor porch taking in the beautiful Norfolk waterscape. We then sat down to an incredible multicourse dinner. After a tasty bread selection, they brought out the She Crab soup. It was rich and delicious,and you could not take just one bite. After salads I enjoyed a wonderfully spiced perfectly prepared fillet mignon, with tasty asparagus and mashed potatoes. Came here for a Christmas party hosted by my employer. The views from the Lafayette Room are amazing. I can only imagine how nice it would be on the patio area on a warm summer day. The views of Town Pointe park would make for a great spot to view the activity of such events as Harborfest and Independence Day fireworks. The service was friendly and food was delicious. We had different areas set up with different food options. One area included the vegetable display with fruit and cheese as well as bruschetta , another area was serving lumpia, shrimp, and beef topped crostini. We also had a carving station with top round (cooked beautifully) and three different types of risotto (garlic and lemon with shrimp - this was SO GOOD, vegetable risotto and a chicken risotto). Nearing $60 per person, the fare included an ok plain mixed green salad, the tiniest portion of a petite filet that I have ever been served (my guess is they didn't buy enough filets, so they cut them into 2 oz portions to feed everyone) and, finally, a less than mediocre, mushy piece of cheesecake that was likely baked somewhere else.
