This was a unique team building experience! We came as a finance group here for our holiday outing and team building experience and this was truly remarkable and eye opening. Walking in, there was a room for us with tables to eat and have some drinks and from there on, we were instructed what we were cooking, split up into teams and were brought into the actual kitchen. It took some serious work and each of the personal chefs there were so helpful! I have to give kudos to our chef as he was so patient with me when it came to trying to cook and use some of the things!! Cooking is not my forte. But we had an amazing time. There was a minor hiccup at the end but overall, great experience. I'd recommend to other companies as a unique way to bring people together! read more

Wow! Just wow! What an amazing experience! I mean there's teambuilding and then there's Team Building with Taste. The company I work for set this up as a meet and greet event since we work from home and this whole experience was such a cool way to get to work with others I've never met before and make a new dish. It's located in the same retail center as the H Mart off Peachtree Industrial on the second level and there is plenty of free parking. I loved that the signage made it super easy to find because there are a good bit of businesses in that area. Once I arrived, there was a super friendly and funny staff member at the front. She let me know that I would need to sign a waiver and then I could head to the "bar" and grab a drink if I wanted. The open space is super inviting with funny quotes from people who have taken part in the experience and once everyone from our group arrived, our host (I wish I could remember her name because she was amazing) introduced herself along with her team and let us know what to expect. We divided up into several small teams and we're given our mission to make the best meal ever and be ready to present a yummy dish to the judges panel for tasting and a chance to win some cool prizes. Our group went into the large kitchen and paired up with a chef who helped us along the way by giving tips on how to jazz up our dish, how to present a delicious dish, and was just there to lend support. We came up with a team name and decided to make empanadas which turned out delicious! The kitchen has literally everything you need to make any dish and I appreciated the cleanliness of the kitchen. Our chef (Nate) gave us all sorts of tips and helped us work together as a team by helping us decide who would be best at each task and was just overall friendly. Our dish came out great, along with everyone else in our group, and it was cool to feel like we were part of the Food Network show Chopped. We all presented our dishes and everyone made enough so we had a buffet style meal featuring all the team's dishes while we waited on the judges to critique our dishes. Our team won (yay!) but it was really cool to work together to put together such a great meal and then be able to just hang out. Seriously one of the best team building activities ever in my career - highly highly highly recommend. Think Master Chef or Top Chef for team building. I was surprised I hadn't heard of them before - they're hidden in one of the side streets in Doraville but soon will get a more visible location at the Super H Mart shopping center nearby. Word-of-mouth and referrals are strong - they do a lot of business with big corporations like Coke and Home Depot. They are a well-oiled machine - they are very organized, and the entire staff are superb and entertaining. We enjoyed working with Steve, Chef Paul and all the team chefs. We had our sales teams participate in the team building and they all mentioned how much fun they had! We had about 16 teams x 5 people each over a 2-day period, and we had 1hr to make 4 different dishes for a Southern dinner. They provide the recipes and key ingredients -- and they also have a pantry of ingredients if you want to deviate further. You can imagine tons of activity in the kitchen - and they will take pictures so you can focus on winning :) Each team is judged on plating, tasting and selling -- listening to everyone's sales pitch and later the judges' critique was so entertaining :) And yes afterwards we got to eat everyone's food -- and what impressed me further was learning they donate all the leftovers to Second Helping, a nonprofit for those in need. The event started 7pm and we didn't eat until about 9:30 ... so yes we had a lot of leftovers to donate :) FYI if you're organizing the event for your company - it helps if you divide up the teams beforehand, and bring the beer, wine and prizes. 5 stars, yes! read more

Overall, it was a nice and different team-building experience. As many have said before it was a work event and they didn't know what to expect. Only one suggestion....They could give a few more minutes to work and talk with the chef before starting the clock, just to get a plan together. All the teams enjoyed working with their chefs....except ours. The other teams seemed to have fun and their chefs seem supportive. Our chef made it quite clear she didn't like working with us. She told us we were unprofessional, several times said: " I told you so." and "What are you doing?" then proceeded to take over. She was not supportive but rude. We started asking other chefs questions because we seem to be annoying ours. She had to plate it her way....When it was time for judging our plate came in last....the judges said it was terrible. If she would have just backed off and allowed our team to work together then it would have been okay. Our team had a good time once we were out of the kitchen. read more

Really loved this concept and getting to know coworkers better in the kitchen. However, felt it was slightly unorganized. The menu does not reflect what you will actually cook. The chefs are kind of all over the place, and I would have rather gotten to spend 10 minutes with them first over the hour we spent aimlessly with the executives of Team Building with Taste prior to entering the kitchen. You didn't get much time to strategize with the chef that was working with you. Also, the bathroom had a roach trap and there were like, tons of dead roaches in it, which is super nasty and really put a sour damper on my excitement to walk into the kitchen after seeing that. That is just gross and the staff should be cleaning/checking that daily. I know they are moving buildings so hopefully the next spot is chance to start clean and fresh. read more

This was for a work event and was fun! I was not really sure what to expect. As a side note, I found it difficult to find and parking was not great. The staff was warm and friendly though. When you enter, you are provided a name tag with a number on it. This is your group number, and you will later cook with your team. You sign a waiver since you will be using knives and will be around commercial grade ovens, friers, and dicers. You are provided a recipe and your team is encouraged to build on it. Your team develops a name that is associated with the dish being cooked. Outside of cooking in teams, the teams a competing with each other for sales pitch, presentation and taste of the individual dishes. Oh, yes, your team creates a sales pitch and you all present to the entire group. After, everyone gets to eat the meal that they have collectively prepared. Overall, this was a fun Team Building experience that was unique. I am not sure that I would want to participate again, but it was a fun experience. read more

We had a five star team building experience here last night. 16 from our leadership team, divided into groups of four. We received plenty of guidance and suggestions to prepare a gourmet meal which was delicious, even with mostly amateur cooks from our company. The professional chefs here were friendly, knowledgeable , and made the event a lot of fun, as did the host and emcee Steve. Great experience and highly recommended for whoever wants to approach Team building exercises out of the usual same ol' stuff. As one of the participants in our group mentioned 'nothing is more familiar to us humans than interacting around food'. And its true- we have been doing it since immemorial days. It comes naturally to us to interact and figure things out when it comes to cooking and eating. And thats exactly what our team got from this- fun and immersive interaction. Fear not if- like many of us- boiling water is already an overwhelming challenge and the kitchen is the least visited room at your house. What a great concept! This was one of the most unique and fun teambuilding experiences I've ever had - and it didn't hurt that my team won the competition and we were all treated to a copy of the fabulous "Try This at Home" cookbook by Richard Blais! Social hour is the first thing on the menu, and it's a laid-back environment with plenty of opportunity to get to know and talk to the people you're there with! There's plenty of time to drink PLENTY of VERY GOOD wine before they arm you with knives and fire and turn you loose on one another! FUN! They give you a menu and recipes, but they encourage you to think outside the box, and even provide you with a pantry you can rob to facilitate amping up the recipes to make your meal outstanding instead of ordinary! Our team's chef was great, but one of the chefs was a little obstructive - maybe she was trying to encourage assertion!! Our menu was the Italian food menu, so we had to prepare a chicken dish (my teammates did a fabulous job with this, tasted great, and presentation was lovely!), a pasta dish (we made a pesto that was fresh and beautiful but the judges thought there was not quite enough salt - easily fixable!), a crostini (we heard raves that our team's crostini was a fave!), and a zucchini dish (which I totally threw out the recipe for and recreated - the judges were blown away!). You have an hour to prepare the whole meal, so if your team isn't cohesive or has trouble delegating, it will show! I'm proud to say that all of our teams finished on time, and everyone's food was so, so good - and the best part was being able to spend time relaxing and alternately competing with one another, just a fantastic way to spend an evening! The guys who run the program and the chefs who help each team in the kitchen are friendly and funny, and they really try to bring out the best in everyone - good bunch of folks! We held a team building event with the Food Movement, and I have to say the surpassed our expectations in every way. Having done a cooking challenge as a group already, we already felt we knew the routine, however the Food Movement team still had plenty of surprises in store. The food was top knotch and the pantry of other food items was very well stocked from prosciutto to dragon fruit. There was plenty of help too, with four chefs (one for each team) who offered guidance and made sure people had fun but remained safe (sharp knives, hot stoves, etc.). The whole event was very well documented with at least a hundred picutures being taken which were quickly put into a slide show that we could watch while we ate our food. If you are holding a team event in Atlanta, I would seriously consider the Food Movement. They can even help with transportation, we rented a party bus at Jack's recommendation from Cooper-Global which was also very professional. read more

My company hosted a virtual cooking class for our employees as a way to "get together" during the holidays. It was a HIT! Steve made the process of getting things set up and ready prior to the class simple which I appreciated! Susan is an excellent chef and instructor.. we enjoyed her cooking class! Team Building With Taste is a corporate team building event that EVERY company should participate in. My group was ~20 young consultants, most of whom had never cooked a gourmet meal in their lives! So many people were out of their comfort zone but Jack, Susan, and their team made the event fun and engaging. Many of our group members said they wanted to return with their families and friends to do the event again. I enjoyed the comradery and time spent with my workmates and the food and drinks were good. I would not recommend this particular event for church/religious groups due to the extremely vulgar language used by the female chef when giving instructions or due to the sexual innuendos thrown out (in an attempt to be funny) during the presentation portion of the event by another staff member. My company recently did a team building activity here and it was AMAZING! So much more fun than I had originally expected. We also rented their meeting space for 7 hrs prior to our activity. The refreshments and lite lunch was great. Our company had two teams cooking the Modern Steakhouse Dinner, and the steaks were perfectly cut and the curve-balls they incorporated were great. Had a team building event with my coworkers and had an amazing time. I didn't know what to expect, but we had a cooking competition. We were broken into teams of 4-5 and was given a menu with recipes to prepare. We were also paired up with a "master chef" to help guide us through the process. I can't remember our lady's name, but she was a nice but tough lady. We had an hour to complete the meal and afterwards our dishes were judged. I liked it because we didn't have to stick to the recipes exactly and they also tried to shake things up a little by providing extra credit ingredients to use in your dishes. After the dishes were judged, the winners and honorable mentions were announced. It was a great experience and i'm glad I participated. It was great tasting everyone's masterpieces. If you're looking for a fun activity with a large group of people, look into this; you'll have a lot of fun. read more

They worked with us to meet our specific objectives, created an event for 8 teams without it seeming overwhelming with a large group, and made adjustments to meet our time constraints without taking anything away from the experience.
