I am a new member here and have no experience with taekwondo. I did the two-week trial and ended up buying a membership. So far I really like it, The instructors will work with you one on one based on what you need. It feels like a team environment as we are all striving to get our black belts. I came here looking for a different kind of work out. I'm not into the gym classes like Zumba, and yoga is too boring for me and I live nearby so I thought I'd stop in. I practiced at Team Kwon for 6 months and lost 12 pounds (and counting)! The instructors and staff made class fun and challenging and I was always excited to come to class. The thing that sticks out to me most is how they treated me with respect. As a person in their early 20's you don't get treated like that a lot. I miss that aspect just as much as I miss taking class. I love Team Kwon and the staff here. Their passion for what they do is contagious. We are very impressed by Team Kwon and the excellent teaching the school provides. We were first introduced to Team Kwon when my son was invited to a classmates birthday party at their location. The hospitality, service provided, and teaching style impressed us immediately. We registered for two free trial classes and then signed up our 6 year old son right away. We've been attending classes for 2 months and we've already seen growth in our son. The lessons he's learning from us at home are reinforced at the school consistently. The teach with excellence and expect the same in return every class. The teachers are caring but firm, they seem to know every child by name, and are constantly teaching the kids about honor, respect, excellence, giving your personal best, and stretching them to grow personally and in their taekwondo abilities. For my nephews 4th birthday, I didn't want to get him just another toy when he already has so many. I decided a pass to Team Kwon's to try out something more active and fun would be a better idea for him. We went in for a tour and everyone was incredibly kind and professional. I could tell immediately that their staff is phenomenal with kids. Like a lot of kids, my nephew's a little shy around people he doesn't know and Miss Jasmine made him feel so comfortable right from the start and when he left he was excited to come back and get started. My daughter has been coming to team Kwon since she was 3 years old and it helped her so much on the discipline, kept her physically active and healthy. Came here based on a referral from a school friend. We all did the very reasonably priced 2 week trial as a family, that's 4 classes per person. Ms Jasmine was so helpful in sorting out continued classes. All the teachers have been wonderful and caring. Master Kwon carefully guiding and correcting. My daughters age 8 and 10 now love coming. Not only does it help them have physical activity twice a week(you do get a work out as I can attest to!), it cultivates respect, focus, team work, agility and most of all, as my more introverted, shy, 10 year old states, "I like how it makes me feel!" I think she likes yelling out "hee-yah!" as she performs her kicks. Definitely recommend at least trying the 2 week trial to see for yourself! read more

After talking with a few on my son's classmate's moms, I finally decided to bring my son here. The staff is very friendly and always helpful. It's hard to find a martial arts instructor dedicated to passing down the true art and core essence of martial arts but Master Kwon is the real deal! Parents be aware of the tkd master. He uses tactic to trap the fathers to sign a long term contract that you can't get out unless you move 25 miles from the school. He will talk to the mothers about short term contract, but wait until he sees the father to discuss the 3 yrs contract. You can't leave the school unless you pay the full amount of the contract. This happened to many parents who tried to leave the school because the child has no interest or want to try another sport. Also, they add so many color belts that it ended up costing more. Oh it will cost $500 to take the deputy belt 1 to deputy 2 belt. I don't want to know how much the black belt test cost. The master is rude and dishonest. The spirit of tkd sport is lost in this school. read more

Last July my son & I had ordered a pizza and had some time to kill! We started walking around the shopping center and walked past TKD Masters. I stopped to look in the window and saw an Olympic Gold Medal! I had to go in!! That was the first time I met Master Kwon. I did not realize at the time that one quick moment was going to change my life! I signed my son up on the spot to do a 2 week trial, then hurried home to tell my husband. After the first class my son was hooked & so were my husband & I. After watching him for 2 months we decided it was time for us to join. The day I started with TKD Masters I did not have an athletic bone in my body, had never played a sport, was over weight and was a complete klutz! I was a nervous wreck! I already knew the instructors and they knew me but they did not know how inept I was. My first class was awesome! My instructor was so patient with me. He gave me confidence & pushed me! The next morning I was so sore....but one of those good sores! I have been with TKD Masters now for 8 months! I have lost 80 lbs & am in the best shape of my life!! My entire family -- wife, two kids, and myself -- signed up for the Master's Club in 2010. Becoming part of the TKD Masters family was one of the most enriching experiences of our lives. We worked out together, became strong together, and shared a meaningful journey together. My daughter and I started first in 2010; she earned her black belt in 2012. My wife and son started in 2011 (when our son was almost three), and the three of us earned our black belts in 2014. What an awesome achievement! One of the most instructive elements of TKD is commitment. I don't recommend TKD as something you do for six months and then move on to the next thing. TKD is a valuable skill taught by friendly, passionate instructors in a wholesome, family-oriented environment. There's real value here, and smart parents will encourage their kids to stick it out during the tougher times on their "quest to be the best." The smartest parents will recognize the benefits of doing TKD as a family -- after all, the family that kicks together, sticks together! My kids are continuing on to their second degree. There's definitely a financial commitment, but it's seriously all about prioritization. As a counterpoint to some other reviews, we signed up our two year old for a four-year program...more than double the span of his life. We started out with the 2-week trial of a total of 4 classes, then signed a contract for 12 months of classes. Very professional studio and warm/inviting also. The instructors really get to know all the students individually, and the classes range from the very young to the seasoned adults. It was heartwarming to see age ranges from children to parents to grandparents in some of the mixed age/level classes. My 17 year old daughter is preparing for her last year of high school, and the possibility of going away to college. She wanted to learn self defense and also have a healthy outlet for frustration. Not only was he excited about attending his class, we were impressed by the studio and the instructors. The studio is clean and functional, while the instructors are friendly, helpful and great with children. After the four trial sessions, we decided to enroll him for a 6 month commitment. After competing on a junior Olympic team in my youth; I had high expectations for any Taekwondo studio as I sought to relive my childhood passions. TKD Masters surpassed my expectations! After watching Master Kwon's gold medal Olympic fight I knew this was the school for me. I loved his fighting style and knew I would benefit from attending his school. TKD Masters teaches confidence, strength and discipline to students of all ages. It is an awesome atmosphere with challenging but rewarding workouts. My son started his taekwondo journey four years ago when he was 5 years old. Before signing him up, I visited the studio and asked how they handled strong willed kids. I remember Miss Jasmine confidently saying, "No problem, we've dealt with all kinds of kids... bring him in." So I did. My son, however, was so difficult and refused to do anything in class that I almost didn't bring him back. Fortunately, Master Kwon, Master Thomas and Miss Jasmine encouraged me to not give up and to continue bringing my son to class. I am so grateful for their encouragement because within a short time, I could see a change in my son. His confidence was building and he started to enjoy the classes. He is now almost a black belt and the positive transformation we have seen in him is tremendous. He now knows that with hard work and perseverance, he can achieve his goals. Master Kwon, Master Thomas, Miss Jasmine and all the staff at Team Kwon truly care about their students. Yes, it's long term and involves a significant financial commitment. In my opinion, well worth it.
