I was welcomed with open arms, and everyone at the theatre has been a joy to work with. A lot of time and care goes into the productions which are put together primarily by volunteers (the entire cast, most of the crew, etc). If you have the chance, do check out a performance, you're almost certain to have a good time! :)

We had an extremely disappointing experience at YMCA Day Camp Heritage. My 6-year-old son came…read morehome extremely burnt on several occasions every week despite the fact that we sent sunscreen and requested on multiple occasions to have the camp counselors ensure sunscreen was applied. The director, MacKenzie Erpenbach, is also very unprofessional, angry and irritated with families and children at camp (and a few other staff are as well). But, many were very kind. However, we feel all staff, especially the leaders, should have patience and love working with children if they are in this environment. In addition, my son was also bullied by two children at camp and the camp counselors did not intervene. Only when my son decided to fight back (albeit, physically, which was not appropriate), did the staff step in. When we addressed that bullying was occurring, MacKenzie's response was to ignore this fact, even though getting to the root cause (the bullying) could have prevented my son's reaction. Instead, only my son was asked to go home early and was not allowed to go back to camp the next day. In addition, my son had an individual camper plan which was sent via email and also a printed copy in his backpack. The staff, including MacKenzie (the director), claimed to be unaware of the plan and did not follow the plan once I reminded them of the plan. Many of the counselors there are very sweet and great with the kids. However, unfortunately, the camp needs to have a great director overseeing the camp to see improvement. My advice is to look at other YMCA camps before sending your children to YMCA Day Camp Heritage unless a new director is put in charge.

Kudos! We were there today to see our grand daughter as she took lessons in riding as part of a…read moregroup of other girls. I could not have been more impressed with how that was done. The girls were involved with getting their horses ready to ride, including scrapping the dirt from out of their hooves. It was clear that the staff were teaching little girls how to be around the animals, how to care for them and how to respect them. The instructions were simple and clear; the number of staff in the ring to provide any necessary attention was amazing. The look on the faces of the little girls was priceless!

We rented Base Camp for an over night lock in for a high school girls basketball program's team…read morebonding event. Setting it all up was so easy! They were quick and responsive and everything was all planned via email which made things so convenient! They were straightforward about what to bring for the lock in. The night of, the girls had fun! Lots of space to run and around and be teenagers. All the girls had games the next day, so they came in and all said something about the temperature, some were too hot and some were too cold. One common thing was if they just had blankets on the floor, they were cold. The other minor thing that could be improved - online waivers. I had to manage all the parent waivers. Overall, a great experience! When we went there was only rock climbing and archery available - that said they got their fill of those activities, so we probably would not do it again next year.

We love base camp. We go for our troop's annual banquet. We always have fun! We have plenty of…read morespace for our troop. After the banquet the kids play gaga ball, rock wall climbing and archery. Everything went well throughout and their staff were easy to work with, which goes a long way when you're planning a kids' party. We rented the space for two hours. The first portion included a choice between an instructor-led ninja class or a Nerf party -- we chose the Nerf option, and it was a hit with both the birthday Ninja and our guests. After that, the kids had freestyle time to explore and play throughout the gym. One thing I really appreciated was that the gym was closed to the public during our party, so it was just our group and the instructors. Safety was the top priority, and the instructors were patient, attentive, and great at keeping everyone engaged. No one felt left out, overwhelmed, or bored. After the gym time, we moved into a private party room that we were free to decorate. The space was spotless when we arrived and already equipped with picnic tables, a food and cake table, a full-size fridge, and even backup supplies like paper towels and disposable cutlery. We didn't need the extras, but it was reassuring to know they were there. There were also no restrictions on outside food, which made planning much easier. We ate, sang happy birthday, and relaxed while the kids continued having fun. Once we wrapped up, the kids were welcome to hang out in the arcade area or head back into the gym while waiting for pickup. Cleanup was our responsibility, which felt completely reasonable and in line with most party venues. Overall, I'm so glad we chose to celebrate here. The staff was welcoming, organized, and attentive, and the experience felt like a solid value for the price. I wouldn't hesitate to come back -- either for open gym time or another celebration!
