iPad took an unfortunate tumble and the screen cracked on the bottom... Went to Fix 'N Repair's…read morewebsite and reached out for a quote. The process was super easy; complete the form by selecting the repair option (more on that to come), what device you have, what is wrong with it, your contact information, and how you'd like to be contacted. The repair options are to either visit the store or a come-to-you service which is unique, convenient, and a great option that sets them apart from other companies. And the at your door service does not have any hidden or extra fees! They are very responsive and quick to get in touch once you submit the form. I reached out during business hours and got a response immediately! I really liked that they asked how to contact - via call, text, or email. I needed my iPad, 9th gen fixed. It was quoted at $119 (+tax). I opted for the come to you service. It said online they have a van and do the repairs that way, however they reached out to see if I was okay with a pick up/drop off instead. That made no difference to me. They were very communicative throughout the process. It was very easy to schedule an appointment and I was able to have them complete repairs the next day! They did a great job with the repair - it looks brand new and you can't tell that there was an accident in the first place! They also asked if I wanted to add a screen protector which I appreciated as I would prefer not to break my screen again. They charged $20 for the protector and application, which I thought was reasonable and worth it for me not to have to mess with putting it on myself. Since I had a case already, I did not need one but they sell cases and accessories too. I highly recommend checking out Fix 'N Repair if you are in Wakefield or surrounding towns. Again, it was super quick and easy, great service, and a job well done!!

My 2020 iPad Air needed its screen replaced, but since it's an older gen, I wondered if it would be…read moreworth it to repair or if I should just bite the bullet and get the newest gen. So, I reached out to a bunch of local tech repair businesses - Jack of Fix 'N Repair responded immediately, but I wanted to wait for more quotes so I could compare... well, 7 other business responses later, it turned out that not only was this place the fastest to respond, but they also gave the quickest turnaround time estimate (30-45 mins vs. 2-48 hrs) and the most competitive price ($20-50 lower than all the others). I went in the next day and was fully expecting to be told the iPad needed to be left there overnight (there were several others customers queued) and that there were other fees in addition to the quote... but nope! Every estimate was accurate: my iPad was returned to me within 30-45 mins with a flawless screen and no hidden charges. They exceeded every expectation on all fronts - the next time I smash a device, I'm going straight there. Also, HUGE shout-out to Matt, the one who did the repairs! Super friendly, knowledgeable, and easy to talk to; I imagine it can be a stressful environment just due to the nature of the job... handling expensive, fragile tech while surrounded by anxious/impatient clients who just came in from rush hour traffic in the middle of a heat wave? I know I wouldn't keep my cool, so it's all the more impressive that bro had such positive vibes. Not all heroes wear capes!!!

Be extremely careful with this store, especially for screen repairs…read more Things looked fine at first. They told me upfront it would be a third-party display, which I thought was fair. Repair was quick. But when I picked it up, the screen looked "thicker" and slightly raised. That should've been a red flag. I didn't raise the question because I thought third-party display was just not perfectly calibrated. Just a couple days later, the battery started draining way faster. Again, silly of me that I didn't go back right away as I was really busy and could still get by. Then it escalated. The screen is now literally being pushed out by a swollen battery, and the phone shuts down whenever it drops below 50%. It's unusable and frankly unsafe. Yes, it's just past their 30-day warranty (a bit over two months now). But I went back anyways expecting them to be reasonable. Instead, they instantly blamed it on the battery entirely and denied any responsibility. The guy didn't even let me finish explaining the timeline as he kept interrupting, getting hostile, throwing out lines like "you're insulting my intelligence" and "educate yourself," and even threatening to call the police. And here's the best part: at one point he got so worked up he said, "do you want me to reapply your old display and give your money back?" I said sure. He storms to the back... comes back seconds later yelling, "I can't find your old display and it's past warranty anyway." These unpleasant interactions sum up what you need to know about how they handle problems. No accountability, no willingness to even discuss it like normal people, just pure defensiveness the moment something goes wrong. And sure, maybe it's "hard to prove" the connection between a bad third-party screen job and battery issues. But the timing of battery deterioration isn't a coincidence. Spend five minutes Googling and you'll see plenty of similar cases. I'm posting this so others don't walk into the same trap: if anything--even slightly--looks off, push back IMMEDIATELY. Because once you walk out, you're on your own. I'm not necessarily saying go to Apple--their pricing can be ridiculous. But places like this are desperate for petty money. It's a gamble. And if something goes wrong, don't expect professionalism, accountability, or even basic respect. Be careful.
