I have been seeing Dr. Du for the past SEVEN years for my CRT lenses. The first year I was with him, I came in pretty often for whatever problems I experienced and as the years went by I would stop in every 2 years I would come in for replacements (more often Bc I break them). Dr. Du is very patient centered and I would recommend him to anyone. This is my first time at this location since they moved from Queens Crossing building. The waiting area has more seating area. I see a lot of negative reviews on reception..? Maybe they were just having a bad day or now they have new staff, Bc the staff were pleasant. I don't even know how to rate this appropriately... Like the other patients, I had a horrible experience with the front desk ladies. Took me 5 weeks to schedule an appointment and when I showed up, they tell me that Dr. Du doesnt come that day...I haven't been here in over two years so I wouldn't know any schedule changes but over at least 4 calls, they never mentioned that Dr. Du doesn't come to the day that I need to see him. I was never able to see the actual doctor only the other staff both times I went for my annual checkup. It felt very quick and out of there. I requested the test results to be sent to my primary care doctor twice. Finally after my PCP received it, my doctor says to me what kind of place did you go to?? They simply wrote "no diabetes." read more

Dr. Ted Du's ophthalmology team is great. They are kind, knowledgeable and patient. Their reception team has always been a hit or miss, but I've never encountered in the insufferable front desk lady, so either she quit or got fired, or I'm very, very lucky. There's plenty of seats in the waiting area and the wait time isn't too bad when you have a morning appointment. The location is in Queens Crossing, so it's pretty convenient. Whatever the case may be, I find the hours very accommodating and and the staff beyond the front very patient and attentive. Their equipment are up to date and modern and they clean the equipment after each patient use (well, everyone is suppose to do that). I haven't seen Dr. Du since my earlier visits, but the other lady doctor is very nice and attentive. read more

I was told my order was cancelled because my Rx was "too high" which is utter nonsense. Why? BECAUSE THIS RX IS AT A LOWER STRENGTH AND I HAVE GOTTEN STRONGER LENSES BEFORE FROM HIS OFFICE. DU IS A LIAR. When I finally got a hold of him on the phone he would not tell me the real reason why my order was cancelled until I came close to yelling at him. Because of the front desk receptionists, I would give their service zero stars if I could. The receptionists' attitude is subpar and are very rude to the patients. Even when I asked a simple question, the receptionists carry a critical tone of voice and sound like they are reluctant, or unwilling, to answer the question. Dr. Du, please seriously consider reviewing the patient service that the receptionists provide. I wouldn't come here for another checkup if I am met with the same attitude every single time I come here. read more

After struggling with the crowd of Flushing for the elevators (set aside 10-15minutes for that, it's needed....)...i got here, in the office at 4:18pm..checked in...waited for over 30minutes before getting called for preliminary eye scan by one of the girls; she had two machines on her table. The first one I saw a little house on the horizon line as the degree of blurriness and sharpness was adjusted and the image moved around. And then the second machine was like a air gun to shot you in the eye, and pray you don't blink when she does it....otherwise a lot of repeition of that until it's done right lol.... My eyes felt teary, and blurry after that and I was told to read sets of numbers by covering each eye in rotation. Then I was told to have a seat again, until a Doctor in a white lab coat called me at 4:55pm (I didn't get Dr.Du himself this year)...She used a brightlight to check my eyes and then got my eyes dilated with eye drops and i was instructed to wait 30minutes in lobby (no driving for 4hours...she said my vision will be blurry, and folks..she wasn't kidding lol as I type this...I'm reading blended letters lol.) When the time was up, she called me back for some more bright light, eye blinding exaimination....while I stared at all directions of her office as she stared into my eyes balls...lol Right before leaving, sat by another machine, got blinded by Green lights that took pictures of my eyes and I was Out the office by 5:28pm. So this office visit took an hour and 10minutes, and frankly it's not too bad comparing to some other doctors I've had and never gone back to see lol FYI: Anyone with diabetes....annual exams, 2x a year Regular is once a year There's like 3-4 front desk receptionists sitting in this office and I do have to agree with the other reviews, they weren't the bubbly or even smiley of personalities that would make you feel welcome; frankly they looked tired/drained or they just hate their jobs lol ....it's near the end of their shift and it was raining today.... they got the job done so I wasn't mad. They're only human like everybody else. I came in early for my 5:30pm appointment and none of them gave me any crap or made me wait extra, so I appreciated that. Thanks! read more

Dr. Yi San Lee is very nice and patient. The reason why I believe this eye center is worth 4 stars instead of 5 is because I feel the front desk attendant who served me was very indifferent about my appointment. She did not even look me into the eye. Nevertheless, I am not there for a front desk but the professionalism and knowledge of Dr. Lee. I will pay my following visits to the doctor and learn more about my eyes. read more

Dr. Du is a nice man, but I nevertheless had a bad experience with his office. I found his name via my insurance website, and called to make an appointment for an annual exam (I wear contact lenses). I scheduled the appointment for only that reason, and made it clear on the phone. When I arrived, I was told I would be charged to see a specialist even though my vision insurance co-pay covers an annual exam. The receptionist stated told me the only place that does annual exams like that is a walk-in glasses store, which is obviously false.She insisted that I must have been told on the phone all of this, but I wasn't, otherwise I wouldn't have made the appointment. Sigh. I asked what was included in this visit that would make it more costly than an annual, and she said the doctor would do more tests. Wrong! He did look at my eyes, but I've had more in-depth testing done at every other annual eye appt. I've had. He only tested my vision with my current contacts on and did not do the glaucoma test I thought was standard. When he was writing my contact prescription he asked me what base curve I thought I needed; I had no idea. Isn't that what he is supposed to tell me? Lastly, I told him I had trouble reading and had to zoom my computer screen really large, and he said that because I was under 40 there was no way I needed reading glasses yet, and that it was probably due to dry eyes. Never mind the fact this happens daily. For someone in need of an annual exam and prescription, I would not recommend at all. read more

Like others in here, I am writing a review about the front desk lady. Worst attitude ever, I don't know what's her problem. I just called to ask which date is my appointment (it's less than 1 minute work)and she gave me the nastiest tone of voice. All the doctors there I've seen are nice and kind. DR. I tried to check whether the doctor is in my network, the receptionist was extremely unprofessional and rude. She refused to check it for me and told me to wait until the day before appointment or get another doctor. Consider my appointment for my daughter is half way and still 1 month away, I really need to make sure my kid can see a doctor ASAP, not wasting another month before finding out I need to book another doctor. read more

I don't even want to give a single star to this damn place. I've been a long time patient of this doctor for about five years. Before, I used to walk in whenever I have a eye problem. Now, I need to beg the receptionist every single time just to let the doctor to see me when I have an emergency. Does the front desk understand what emergency means, it means you cannot schedule an appointment in advance and need to see a doctor ASAP. So I had this one time where my eyes was really hurting and my head was throbbing from the pain. I decided to get it check out at 9 am when the office just opened. I thought they would definitely be able to squeeze me in somehow but guess what? When I walked in, the receptionist was like we don't take walk in on Tuesday. Funny how when I called a week before I walked in they said just come in from 9 am - 3 pm. I told the receptionist that and she gave me the worst attitude ever saying we only take walk in Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Obviously, that's not what I heard on the phone, if I did I wouldn't bother walking in on a Tuesday. I asked her if an exception could be made cause my eyes were hurting like crazy and it was an emergency. She gave me an attitude again and said " What do you want me to do about it" and told me to go a doctor downstairs. I went downstairs only to find out that the downstairs doctor didn't come in on that day. I went back up again to ask the receptionist if I could see the doctor, she still said no. At this point, I was extremely pissed off. I had work soon therefore, I didn't have enough time to find a new doctor. I asked her for the last time to let me see the doctor and she said no in a voice that sounded like she's finally happy to get rid of some pest that was bothering her. You have to be a psychic to see this doctor because you have to predict when you have eye pain so you can book an appointment in advance to get your future eye problems checked out or else you get kicked out of the office like me. Needless to say, I am done with this place. If I ever go back the joke is on me. read more

I had a minor eye injury and found Dr. Ted Du on Yelp. I was a walk-in patient and asked to be seen by Dr. Du because I had a scratch on my eyeball. The girl at the front desk was very polite and nice. Then another girl took me in the back to do some of the eye exams on the computer. She started speaking to me in Mandarin. I said very nicely in English "sorry but I don't speak Mandarin" and she had an attitude. I have to say I am Chinese American and my family speaks Cantonese. I only get this weirdness when I go to Asian doctors. When the Asian staff see me, they start talking in Mandarin. My Chinese speaking skills are horrible so no way will I try to answer in anything but English. When this happens, half the people I talk to are cool and go with the flow. The other half cope major attitude without saying a word, like you look Chinese, so you should be able to speak the language. Anyway, the lady asks me to put my forehead and chin on the machine. She didn't tell me it was the machine that blows a puff of air into your eyeball. She was a jerk. At other eye doctors I have been to, the staff always gives you a heads up. I wound up seeing Dr. Yi-San Lee, OD who was fantastic and explained my condition to me. I was in and out in a little over an hour. Amazing! I have waited longer at other doctors' office, with an appointment. Based on today's experience, I would give them another try and recommend the business. read more
