Scam company. Reading other reviews, somehow they magically never seem to have exactly what you want so instead of marking the product "out of stock" like a normal website, they let you order it anyway. That's why they have that option to fill in with something similar. The best part? $20 dollars shipping just for one bag of $12 tobacco. I thought it was a flat rate, so I added a small bag of tobacco to the order. NOPE, I get slapped with an extra $2 on my shipping just for the honor of getting ripped off. I sent him an email asking what was the hold up, "out of stock, can we sub it with something else?" Thanks for letting me know as I sit here waiting for nothing. First off this company is ran like a circus. Secondly they are liars. Claim they shipped, tracking numbers just remain in pre-shipment for days and days because they sell product they don't have. I have their postal facility do a physical search for the package they claimed was ship yet was never scanned which we know is BS, USPS instantly scans every single package. Every time they have delayed shipped it's always USPS fault yet mysteriously the package scans in their postal facility a week later. I have used them multiple times, They over charge for shipping each time. I called customer service and was told they use expedited option for shipping via UPS, which I know could cost extra for residential location, but second time my order came with usps parcel service, which is less than half cost. I've been ordering from Ted for several years no - They use to be great, but within the last year or so, they have really gone down hill !!! They've owed me replacement tubes for over a year due to damaged caused by "Packaging" issues (tubes just thrown in loose with tobacco). Now, there was a glitch with their website which caused the wrong product on my order. As soon as I received the order conformation email (within 1 minute of placing order) and noticed the error, I immediately replied to their email and asked that the order be corrected. I ordered from these people on 7/27/22, I called and emailed them up to the 6th of august, I was first told by Lauren, that it had been shipped, and tracking would update to their site in 24 hrs. Didn't happen! Called back spoke to Lauren, she's rude! Put me on hold and transferred me to Rob. Now Rob claims that the trucks didn't come with my order and offered me something else, then told me the same as Lauren did on the 6th, that tracking would be updated in 24 hrs, Again it didn't happen, so I emailed them complaining about it and they just respond with a tracking number for USPS when I was told it would be shipped UPS. Will not order from them again, if there was a problem, they should have reached out to me and told me offered me the other item and ship it. they were fine not saying anything to me without me having to call or email to find out on my own! if you don't want to do real business maybe they should quit! After reading the reviews here I am very uncomfortable ordering from Ted. Also, after reading the free shipping claim in the Google search results, I went to order and found the shipping for a 16 oz item was actually a gouged $23. That's not free, Ted, and a very shady tactic at that. I read the BS to which Ted answers his dissatisfied customers here, and even though he may claim we need to read the details on the initial free shipping claim, the fact is, if it states free shipping on the Google search results, then the shipping, should be...well...free, a very simple concept, and no amount of BS or spin can make that fact go away. Many are already aware of that false claim scam, where one lies to get you to their website, you go to the trouble to get your order into the cart, register, and then when you finally place your order..WHAM! The over charge. Many will go ahead and pay at that point because they have already spent the time getting the purchase set up....common scam. I can only recommend Ted stop that and any other deceptive business practices that may be listed here. If you don't have the product, don't seIl the product, especially when dealing with an addictive substance that people may need in a timely manner. I've been ordering from TED Tobacco for years now and every single order has been perfect. Accurate and delivered in a timely fashion. This company is solid and reputable. I recommend TED 100%...they have NEVER let me down at all! I order online and keep things simple (I don't call them or send emails or change my order or mess with it beyond just placing the order). I'm totally baffled to see any negative reviews at all about TED...my best guess is that these bad reviews are from people overcomplicating their orders with a bunch of special requests, people who are technologically-challenged, people who just like to complain no matter what, or possibly these are false reviews written by a competitor. 2 stars so far. Placed an order before checking them out, a mistake. Reviews I read seem to be on the mark. Placed an order that was was to be shipped UPS ground, told it would take 2-3 days. Prior orders never took less than 5 days from PA to San Antonio but I assumed the lady I spoke with was new as she seemed a bit nervous. I wasn't given an order confirmation, so I called back and was told that they didn't have my tubes in stocks and they could substitute a brand I didn't like. I said fine, forget the tubes I'll buy them here. "Well, we can't do that sir. You have to take tubes. And by the way, we're also out of your tobacco." Long story short, I was told that my refund would take 5 days to process. Unacceptable. You took it out immediately, you can certainly put it back in my account immediately. i was was looking for a place that carried a quality product i knew of so i ordered 10 cartons of ohm "menthol" cigarillos' ($133) from www.tedtobacco.com and received the wrong product (by mistake I hope, but after the fact i think they knew), i sent 4 pictures of the the mistake and they said they were the right product and would not rectify the mistake and would not be replacing the incorrect order. I think because i was a first time customer they could get rid of bogus stock that was sitting around) I have ordered thousands (seriously) of these cigarIllos in the past, but can't remember the company, and know exactly what was supposed to be in the packs, and these were not the "menthol" cigars I ORDERED. They were the red striped regulars (like Marlboros) all I wanted was what I ordered, I didnt ask for a refund or anything and they flat out refused to rectify the mistake. I have purchased from them a few times over the years. They dont provide emails when orders ship. I happened to realize my shipment had not arrived a few weeks after ordering. It was shipped UPS and supposedly delivered USPS. I called them after no response to my email for help. They told me I would have to reach out to USPS to find the package. What a joke.. USPS can only say it delivered. I have invested a lot of time on this purchase and had my bank charge them back, (as I promised the CS rep before we hung up). DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH THEM! No e-mail to update me on shipping status after a week so I called and was told that they had the order but shipping status couldn't be updated (product not in stock). I then asked if I could cancel the order and was told that an agent would have to call me back. NO CALL! I went thru this process another three times and still have not received what I ordered or a refund. Customer service is friendly and do a good job of reading from their script but ineffective in resolving any issues. The customer service supervisor can't help either. TOTAL JOKE OF A COMPANY!!!! Cat K.'s review is spot on and much like my experiences through three orders with Ted. But I got more to say about these cretins at Ted who act more flaky than an Elementary School Weed Dealers. They have NEVER sent an e-mail informing me that my purchases we being shipped. And it has left me in dark each order. Back when the amount you needed to spend for free shipping was $179, I tallied up what was in my cart correctly and had $181. I placed the order. Got the instantaneous confirmation email which always states they will send me an email when my items ship. A week later, no shipped notice and I noticed their charge on my bank account was $204(shipping was $28 back the, I believe. I didn't check when I ordered because I intended to go for the free shipping). I sent them an email inquiring. No answer for 3 days so I called them. No answer on the phone. I tried again later. No answer. The next day I called early and got a lady who said their system was down due to a power outage and she would look into my order and get back with me as soon as she could. Two days later and no call back so I called again because on my account info order page it said processing. Were up to 12 days now and I had run out of tobacco so had to make a special trip(over 20 miles north of me one way) and I bought enough to get me by for a week. It wasn't enough. By the time I got through again the same lady gave me a story about how my order was waiting to be shipped for one of my many bags of tobacco to show up and should go out in a day or two. Also, I needed to resubmit my picture of my licence because the first one got misplaced during the power outage but the good news was one of my items went on sale and she would credit me for that on this order. I didn't think she would charge me for shipping because of that til the next day when I called to confirm she got my second sending of my license but it would take a day to process and besides they were still waiting on the out of stock item. I said can you cancel the first order and rewrite the new order without that item. Yes but we will have to refund your money as it can't be applied to the next order. I said, "Do it". She said she could cancel the first order but i would have to go to the website and reorder. I did that and made sure to double up on another item that was in stock to get the free shipping forgetting about the item on sale. Once again that item took me under the $179 limit and I got charged for shipping again because a "sale" item took my total under the free shipping mark. I could tell, like we always can, this lady was a liar and not a good one at that but with them sitting on my money and already 2 weeks gone by I wouldn't make a stink, yet. My layout for the first order took 10 days to be put back into my account but it was $5 less than what they took and I noticed I was charged for shipping again on the second order. It was 24 days from when I placed my original order before I got my tobacco, a machine, tubes and papers. One of the pounders was punctured and sure enough the tobacco was bone dry. These splinkter voids are lazy, they lie, they nickel and dime you for extra profit and they are total flakes about conducting business professionally. They don't give a rat's tucas about their customers cuz they deal in an addictive drug. Second order months later and I kept it down to just a 5 pounder and two 1 pounders and paid their high shipping and handling. It arrived a week later but the big bag had holes in it and the areas around the hole was just beginning to go dry, like the holes were new, freshly done. One hole was a slice/stab sorta like a knife blade did it. Definitely NOT a tool mark from processing. 3rd order, 15 days after ordering. Day 10 the site said, "processing". I sent an email. 2 days later a short response. They had shipped it but it was returned to them due to insufficient address, waiting to hear from me fopr correct addy before sending. I looked at my account and nothing had changed but now the order page said "Complete". No tracking number was provided for me to check on their lies I'm friends with the UPS driver and he's brought my packages when you could decipher my name only. Once again I smell fricken lies from these flaky, thoughtless, inconsiderate, backwards ass residents of the bowels of Louisiana, banjo playing, river dwelling miscreants who I can picture in the back office yelling, "SQEEEEEEL" at their sibling while orders pile up on the inbox, spilling over onto the 1950's greasy, torn cornered and urine crusted vinyl tiles cuz it doubles as the lavatory. I ordered in the early morning and received an email by that afternoon that it was being processed for shipping. Arrived a day early although that could be attributed to ups. I've ordered from TED Tobacco at least 10 times and have always had great experiences with them. Only once did they email me to say that what I ordered was out of stock, and they made a recommendation on what to get in its place. The recommendation wasn't bad either. Shipping is as expected, pricing is very competitive. The website itself is functional but not the best in the world. I've noticed that often when I order large quantities they'll put a small perk in like a couple of lighters or an extra carton of tubes (but not always). My only complaint is that they aren't very responsive via email hence the 4 stars. I asked about a line of products and got no response. AVOID this company at all costs people! After 3 prior orders sat unshipped until you hound them about where your order is, yet they charge your card in full immediately. Last order was placed for in stock product and once again charged in full and nothing shipped. Called a week later and was told the in stock product was all not actually in stock and they would ship whenever they received all items on the order in stock, but they charged my card in full for items they didn't have. Per their website any backordered items can be cancelled without penalty, so I asked them to cancel the back orders holding up the shipment...nope, said they couldn't do that and claimed their system isn't capable of cancelling back orders. They suggested that they can cancel my original order for full refund and that I place a new order for the items they did have in stock to ship. So we did this, and so now I'm charged twice. As of today, the original order that was to be cancelled and be refunded immediately is still showing open in their system and no credit was issued as promised. They're awful in responding to emails and you get the runaround and a bunch of BS when you call. Like I said, all 3 prior orders were delayed without explanation and took several phone calls/emails to get them to ship the product. Their website says they ship in stock orders next business day...don't believe it for a second, every order I placed sat for a week or more without shipping, until I called and emailed them repeatedly. I emailed them yesterday stating my cancelled order had better show cancelled and refunded in full in their system by today...absolutely zero response from them. I ordered 2 lbs of pipe tobacco and 6 cartons of tubes on Monday, then received an email saying they would ship by the end of the week or to change to a different brand to ship today. the email said do nothing to keep the order as is or reply to "upgrade" so i chose to do nothing as i didn't mind waiting 1 week to ship. On Friday i called to ask if it has shipped as their site still showed processing. I was told it had shipped but the website would not show any change until they closed it out. Next money rolled around and i received a call from a guy i'm pretty sure was the same person stating they were out of one of the tobacco bags i purchased and they could change it out to another brand to ship today. I explained the email i received and that i had called and was told it already shipped. He played dumb and acted as he didn't know why even though i'm 99% sure it was the same guy i had spoken to. I told him to go ahead and ship me what he had instead of waiting for my brand. Another week went by until they actually shipped anything.
