Ring for sailing times. The ticket office is round the other side of the building to the river, so it can be a bit of a mad dash. When we went a dog got loose as well! Which delayed the set off! Then we were pointed in the wrong direction! Now that the Tees Barrier is in place, the Tees is at its former high tide mark the whole time, so boats as big as the Princess can meander down to Preston Park and Yarm. It is mostly used by pensioners, many of whom survive, and is well worth the trip. I was most interested to see the nature reserve near Thornaby and a huge new golf driving range. There is another golf course just across from Preston Park. The young male ushers couldn't quite stop themselves from singing selections from Chicago, and then made jokes about the gable end of one of the houses by the river (some of which had boats tied to moorings lucky swines.) The jetty at Preston Park is well, insufficient to say the least, and very dangerous to say slightly more than the least. Still, at least it makes you feel like Indiana Jones. The docks at Stockton and Yarm are more substantial , although the one at Yarm has destroyed the character of the river walk. A perfect way to see this area of Teesside, and give you ideas for buying property, none of which is affordable any more. It is a party ship by night though: a party ship. read more

Just to be clear, we have not experienced the cruise. So, the review is not commenting on the experience of the actual cruise. It was the booking process that was so disappointing that we could never get on to the Teeside cruise.Completley conflicting advice given by the booking office and we lost our money. To say the least, the adminstrative person was extremely unhelpful and from our perspective, had no customer service sense at all. read more

as a coach driver dealing with mainly disabled groups, I found that the service from start to finish absolutely fantastic the crew board the passengers with care and consideration including wheelchair passengers who have to be boarded very carefully indeed however nothing is a problem to the crew. I have done five cruises with different groups aboard the princess and have found the meals served were tasty hot and filling the portions were ample, a good selection on the prebooked menu is a good idea and works really well. the cruise itself is at a relaxing pace with plenty of opportunity to take in the wonderful sights of Teesside which you would normally not see and the information and commentary is plentiful and fun. on the whole I would recommend this service to all and look forward to my next trip read more

Absolutely appealing service. Rang in advance and booked our places, arrived early, stood near front of the queue, they let a coach trip on before us, then we were told we hadn't been booked on the trip due to the person answering the phone not doing it correctly and that the cruise was full so we would have to let everyone else on first and see if there was space, after queuing for nearly an hour.even though it was their fault and when we pointed that out the captain said I know who's done that! Don't let old men answer the phone if they are passing if they don't even know how to take a booking. Wasted our one day off together, cost us in fuel. All in all fuming, the staff were not helpful even though they knew it was one of their own staffs mistakes. Only gets a one star because I can't give zero. read more
