I also love that there's a playground for bigger kids, younger kids, and one for all. They also have a fantastic bike loop with exercise machines. The big field in the middle of the loop is used for sports practices and it's well kept as well! Did I mention tennis and pickleball? Well they have both here and there are always players on weekends but weekdays it's all good! Have you been?

Atmosphere - Part of the 1962 acre master community. 8 acres put aside for this park. Open space, wetland, etc. Service - N/A, self service. Price - Free. Owner Suggestion - Thank you for such a nice park, but can I suggest more shade? And another set of bathrooms on the other side of the park.

I love going for a walk through the park on a Sunday morning - any time of year. The only thing that ever disappoints me is the behavior of some of the people who visit the park. I just spent a few minutes reading about the history of Idlewild. The park is about 100 years old. The first big celebration held there was the Transcontinental Highway Exposition in 1927. It celebrated two new major highways- 50 and 40. The California Building was built for the Exposition. I also learned that Idlewild used have a zoo and a fish hatchery, and the pool was initially re-routed river water and a few changing rooms.
