I hired this company in late June, 2022 and gave Mr. Vargas a check for $2,890 because he required…read morehalf down. He also asked at first if the check could be addressed to him and not the company. After clarification, he agreed to get the check under the company name. After some attic problems on our end, we postponed the attic work which included vacuum and batt insulation. I found him through Angie's List, therefore, trusted that the company was a reputable one. He then said he had taken another job, while he had also mentioned that he had already purchased the insulation. I gave him more time and then asked when the work would be started to what he said that the material was backordered till Aug 13, 2022. He then shared that he had not purchased the insulation yet. I had no other choice but to wait. On August 11th asked when he would start the work. He said that by Saturday he would leave the material and start this week. Monday early, around 8 30 am messaged him, then called. No replies or no answers. His miscommunication and misleading information made me believe that he would not do the job. I made a police report Monday late evening. Then Tuesday early morning I explained via text that all I wanted was a refund and if not would have to take this to a court because it is a civil matter case. He replied with a "wow ok". NO CHECK HAS BEEN RETURNED. Lesson to be learned here is TO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY. DO NOT GIVE MONEY UPFRONT TO COMPANIES. REPUTABLE COMPANIES DO NOT DO THIS. Now I find myself posting these reviews. Unfortunately, will have to hire my attorney and hold this man accountable for taking money and not doing the work. I also plan to take this to the news so that they can inform the community. Now waiting for the police report. Good thing I have texts, recorded phone calls and pictures. Mr. Vargas also claimed that he works under ALBERT"S HANDYMAN SERVICES.
