Not everyone knows what to look for in an old house - and he certainly did. He gave us tips about the foundation, pipes, etc..and was really knowledgeable. If you accompany him through the inspection (and I followed him around with a notebook), you learned all sorts of things about your home - he gave suggestions for future repairs, and pointed out things that were big fixes vs. things that we could remedy ourself. He was able to make an appointment quickly for our timeline, and got the report back to us very quickly. He also did a fantastic job with our radon inspection. For an inspector in the area, he did a great job, and I'd definitely use him in the future. The only thing I would love is if he had more referrals of reliable local businesses who could do the work on things that require repairs...but all and all, that's really not his role. What I particularly liked about him, is that he doesn't focus at all on the cosmetic things - which too many people do....instead, he focused on the big things - structural integrity, electrical systems, heating system, roofing, etc..the things that could really sink your budget. He actually take a ladder and goes up to your roof to look at it - and we had a 3 story place. For a thorough, reliable inspector who will go through both the internal systems and external integrity...Wayne does a great job.
