As a first time homebuyer I was extremely nervous about the inspection process. I had heard so many horror stories of inspectors missing significant details that cost new homeowners in the end or not showing up to the inspection at all. Their office staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, they had a good grasp on what we would need done and were efficient in scheduling with both us and our real estate agent. The actual home inspection was nothing short of fantastic. Jonathan was engaging and educational. He was thorough and informative. I had been warned by friends to bring my phone and computer bc it would be a long afternoon if waiting around doing nothing. My computer never left the car! Jonathan took my mom and I with him through the entire inspection beginning across the street outside the house! Throughout the inspection he explained what we were looking at, what was good or bad, how to maintain it once we took possession of the house, etc. He answered all of my questions and made sure I fully understood everything. Dave came to inspect our home that we are under contract to buy. The home is 100 years old with 3000 sq ft. The inspection took about 3.5 -4 hours. We showed up to the inspection about 30 minutes after he started. He asked us to come one hour after he started so that he could complete the outside inspection, however, he was extremely accommodating when we were early. He was extremely thorough around the entire house, pointing out every detail that was a maintenance item or item of concern. We walked around the entire home and he went under every deck surface to check every detail. He took photos of all the items he pointed out to us and provided details in the inspection report on these items. When we finished the inspection on the exterior of the home, we went to the basement and inspected home all the way up to the third floor. He check every outlet, checked every toilet, shower and sink, and checked windows. He also checked that doors closed correctly, and checked the roof via drone camera. He sent us our detailed inspection report the next morning, less than 24 hours after we had walked through the house. He did a fantastic job explaining things in layman's terms. He answered every question we had with patience and without making us feel dumb for asking so many things. We definitely recommend using this company for home inspections. Wow, this team really is TOP NOTCH. As others have said, from the very first call, the office staff was professional and friendly, scheduling the time-sensitive appointment quickly. I had never been through a home inspection before and had no idea what to expect. Jon was immediately welcoming and friendly, encouraged my questions, and never made me feel dumb, which, being female, has not always been my experience with other male contractors. He was extremely thorough inside of the house and outside (and even has a drone to be able to thoroughly check out the roof, which proved to be a huge asset) and explained everything along the way. He also pointed out things I needed to know, like where the water shutoff was, the fact that there was a humidifier on the heating unit, and some other things. After purchasing our first home, my husband and I were referred by our realtor to Jon for the Home Inspection. We are so glad we took his advice. He took the time to answer all of my questions and explained all of his observations in a way that was easy to understand. For any issues that came up, he was careful to distinguish between things I can fix on my own and things I would need a professional to do. He also provided great advice for long-term preventative maintenance, and highlighted several areas of the home that we needed to pay careful attention to avoid problems in the long-run. As a detailed oriented hands on mechanical engineer, I always felt a home inspection was not worth the money. HOWEVER, I am no longer in this camp. Jon Musselman is an incredible source of knowledge and extremely professional. As we walked the property, there was not a moment when Jon and I were not communicating about the details of the inspection. For the most part, Jon was always keeping me informed about why he was inspecting certain components. On occasion, I needed to ask him a "why" question and the response was always polite, clearly explained, and accurate. In addition to my positive onsite experience with Jon, when I received his report less than 2 days later, I almost fell off my chair. We are moving from a condo to a townhome so there were lots of things about our new home that we didn't already have experience with. We were in the process of buying our house when we asked Jon & Dave to come out to do a full inspection + radon testing. David Miseyko did a great job! The inspection was thorough. Because of COVID they asked that the client show up 2 hours after the inspection start time for a 1 hour educational walk through. He was very patient while my husband took notes and answered all of our questions. He spent 2 and a half hours with us going over what was wrong with the home, what needed to be fixed, and also what needed to be done for normal maintenance, which was very helpful as we are first time home owners. He demonstrated exceptional knowledge and we are grateful for all the tips he gave us. He even told us how to best take out the wooden room dividers that were popular in the 80's but not so much now. David is the best! He took almost 4 hours to walk through every inch of my house, did a very thorough check inside and outside the house. He dropped off the radon detector two days prior to the inspection to make sure we got the result on the day. David was nice and patient. I certainly learned a lot from talking to him, not just on the inspection but on how to maintain the house along the way as well. Wood inspection was subcontracted to Bugman. Did the walkthrough on Friday and got the report Sunday night, which was nicely organized with a summary and navigation to the more detailed sections.
