Called to change from DSL to cable as my father passed away and I am floating the bills until the estate is settled. Cutting out the phone line and switching to cable would save be 79 dollars a month while the transition was in motion. I was asked the questions to allow the installation to happen on the 17th. Installation was to occur on the 22nd. Waited all day and got a call 30 minutes before end of day that no one was coming as confirmation wasn't obtained even though I have the confirmation the contract emailed to me and they took my money. It's now the 28th and I now have no internet and no one will call or return my calls. This company is a monopolized company that just wants to steal your hard earned cash. Go with their competitor spend 10-15 dollars more a month and get set up right. Con artists. Unreliable and everything is your fault. Save your money. read more

I'm on TekSavvy since 5 years ago, but recently TekSavvy is not good as years before and customer service is getting worse. I was on the phone with different technicians for almost 3 hours, one of them was super rude with lack of knowledge, the rest were just talking without solving my problem and ask me to call Bell and again Bell told me to call TekSavvy again. I was on the phone back and forth solving my internet speed which is getting so low. I am not recommended TekSavvy anymore. Customer service is so poor and also the internet speed. read more

I am at my wits' end. Have had spotty to no service for 3 weeks now. 2 techs on site, days and hours troubleshooting this garbage service. I tried another modem, that didn't work, bought a new one, still nothing. Spoke with 'senior tech' Jeremiah for an hour and a half. Service worked for a few hours and boom - back to nothing. Wasted money, wasted time. Terrible! read more

I just had the worst customer service experience. FYI I have been a Teksavvy customer for 9 years. I had trouble with the internet connection and called teksavvy for help. Agents all the phone was telling me doing numerous of testing with the router and modem. Nothing worked, they sent a Roger technician on site to check out the problem, Technician said connection works fine and he suspected that it could be the modem and recommeded I request for new router from Teksavvy since I got the modem from the first time I sign up for techsavvy 9 years ago. Then I still suffered from lag and unstable connection, called again; different agent told me to do the same test just like previous technician. This is the 3rd time I called and 2 times visited by technician onsite still the problem is not solved. Very frustrated during the call and I asked if they could help and agent told me to do the same test again. I was fed up and told them that just sent me a new router. after 10 years with Teksavvy, I didnt think it was too much to ask; then I was wrong, the technician asked me to do the test again before he could do anything to help me. I was at my breaking point and told the agent (Adam) I wanted to cancel, and all he said was it is your choice. At this point, I was very disappointed at myself for being customer to this terrible provider. I went ahead with the cancelation and I felt relieved. At least now I could get a better provider. I hope this review help. Strongly advise using Teksavvy. read more

hope potential customers read these reviews before signing up on the recommendation of one lucky friend who has not had issues. Absolutely dishonest and innadequate customer service. You will need to screenshot all interactions that occur in thier chat. You will have to record, or transcribe, every phone conversation. When they make mistakes, they say it is your fault or the backbone providers fault (Rogers, Shaw, Bell.etc..). Quick to bill you though. Will readily charge you double shipping and months bills in advance without providing any service. When you escalate, the supervisor talks with the person you requested the escalation with and parrots whatever the previous person said. Thier callback option conveniently never works when you need it. If you escalate to the company CEM, they will.call ypu and parrot what the Rep and Supervisor said. They will not patiently listen to your input like they say they will. read more

well, was looking for something alternative to high price ISP(bell/Rogers) and hooked with with Techsavvy on promo deal. paying 30 per month for 50mbps . Good: Service is good 90 % uptime. Mostly internet down for few min at night. Modem was free. Bad: sometime the internet just goes down but restarting modem usually solve the issue. May be changing modem will do the trick. in short , if you pay less expect some downtime in service as they are sharing line of Rogers network. But overall its good. read more

I am quite satisfied with their internet services. But!! I ve been with my internet provider Videotron for years, what i didn't like it is that they increased the price every year. But they had a good loyalty department so you had an opportunity to discuss with them. Teksavy has no loyalty department at all. When I subscribed to their services they told me that their prices stay stable at least for 5 years to come. But after 2 years they teir prices go up during COVID-19. No way to discuss with them. They stay very inflexible. And they said me: if you don't like, just find somebody else. No openness at all. I think they have good service, but they should have done something to keep their clients. read more

This company pretends customer service is important but they fail to deliver. Failed to notify me of a cancelled installation appointment and when I complained, they offered me a $ 10 refund. Yes, that is right, a dollar an hour for my wasted day. A Google review promised compensation if I presented my case to customer service. That email went unanswered. What a bad joke this company is. You are much better off dealing with a reputable company. read more

Awful company, their billing department is the worst I've ever experienced. If you need a payment plan, they cut you off anyways before the agreed upon date, they do not hold up their end of the bargain. Than threaten you with collections, and say in order to reactivate you need to pay reactivation fees as well as first/last effectively tripling the cost. What kind of company is this if they tell you one thing than do another? read more
I was a Teksavvy customer for two years and the only reason I left them is because I moved to a place where the internet connection was already up and running. Believe me I would much rather have stayed with Teksavvy. Their prices are much more reasonable than Bell or Videotron and they don't sacrifice connection quality. I think in all the time I was a customer I had internet troubles twice and it was easily remedied by rebooting the modem. The connection was always fast and I never had to wait long to load a website or stream Netflix. I can't say the same for Bell. You also get really good download caps with those affordable prices which means you can watch all the Netflix you want without having to worry about going over your download limit. On the day they came to set up the connection in my apartment the technician arrived about 15 minutes after the start of the time frame the company gave me. I really appreciated not having to waste a morning waiting for him and once he did get there he worked quickly and efficiently. Save yourself lots of money and frustration and go with TekSavvy for your internet! read more

Regret leaving Bell. Moved internet, TV, and phone to TS because the Fibe was not available and I wanted faster internet. We've had nothing but issues. Everything is unreliable. Rarely have a day without having to reboot a device. Not once have I been able to just come home and watch TV, always need to reset the box and modem. Phone works intermittently, disconnects or does not ring. Internet required several service calls to get it running. The TV service when working is gimmicky and cheap. Starting at blank TV again and not even able to set the box. I would not recommend to anyone and working to switch to Roger's right now. read more

Had cable internet service from these guys for about 4 years, started out great but the last 2 years the quality of my internet just kept getting worse. Modem randomly disconnecting, heavy throttling (sometimes) and most recently insane ping times coupled with disconnecting and very poor speeds (I have no idea how this modem was even connecting in the first place) 3/4 times I call tech savvy I get someone who barely speaks english with poor call quality and most recently they didn't even schedule a tech visit (in short, I wasted 40 minutes on the phone for nothing) upon calling yet again and getting someone competent I was made aware my last call was entirely useless and the operator did literally NOTHING. The value of this provider is falling apart when speeds are getting in the 1 gigabit range for the same price from mainstream providers, Tech-savvy no longer holds any value. In short, your lucky if you get ahold of someone competent, your lucky if you internet actually works (and has a stable connection) Tech-savvy used to be good, but now its just expensive, unreliable, with poor customer service. Did I mention you have to buy your own modem too? They are junk quality and are known to fail every 1-2 years (I would know) So go with someone mainstream, sure it might cost more (rarely at tech-savvys rates now) at least the modems included with the internet and they might actually care about their customers. read more

I used to like TekSavvy but my recent experience has me wanting to Take my business elsewhere. We moved house and apparently Shaw messed up our switch, reactivating our old address instead of our new address. While technically a Shaw issue not a TekSavvy one, the service I've been receiving has been horrid. It took over a week to get even a notification a tech was coming only to find out the issue is not a hardware one but a system one. called TekSavvy back and theyve "escalated" a ticket which Shaw has 48 hours to respond to, last time it took them a week to respond to an escalation. haven't had internet since June 5th, it is now the 14th and I have no idea when it will be fixed. Shaw is terrible and Teksavvy's service is too. read more

Best customer service EVER! I am a 68 year old senior and my wifi was awful. So slow that I couldn't watch anything on tv or a movie. Called Teksavvy and they performed a number of tests on my system and determined it was the modem (no surprise as it is about 7-10 years old). The tech walked me through the process and she was able to update the modem remotely and told me how to do a reset on my end. Super speedy internet now and cost me nothing! I was resigned to the fact that I would need to buy a new modem, but thanks to Teksavvy I am good to go, no cost. Love this company!!! read more

Previously was a customer with teksavvy and their internet was actually good, I recommended it to my friend who was struggling finding a decent ISP in his area. Low and behold the quality has sky rocketed down, while I changed ISP's immediately when I started experiencing problems and they weren't doing anything to fix it. My friend is not so lucky because his area is pretty restricted when it comes to ISP's, and he is experiencing the worst of the worst. His internet has been cutting out constantly 5 mins at a time for 21 days now and still counting. He constantly keeps asking and calling for assistance but they just randomly bs and try to avoid anything. They have sent 7 technicians who literally have not done anything useful, they just walk in and leave right after saying something about how everything looks good when in reality it's the worst it's ever been. Also to top it off they keep recommending modems thinking it's faulty so he's been paying for these modems and the worst part is they don't even work still! Now he's been waiting for 8 days for a call from their "maintenance crew", needless to say teksavvy service is something I would never recommend after hearing this. Worst of the worst ISP's ever. read more

If you're looking for a decent and competitively priced internet package for video streaming, teksavvy might be for you. If you're looking to do anything more, go to ANYONE else. I game at night, from 11pm-2am, it sucks. My ping skyrockets consistently. That could be manageable. What isn't, is having my entire connection drop every 4-5 minutes. It has to be the most unreliable ISP I've ever seen. It got so bad one of my teachers sent me an email asking why I keep leaving her class at least once and rejoining later. https://www.pcmag.com/news/the-best-gaming-isps-for-canada-2017 (older source but no so old as to be unreliable). It's nice there's an underdog trying to take on the big companies. But what gets me angry, and what makes me refuse adamantly to suggest their internet to anyone, is the fact in one of their forums I used 6 accounts to make comments. 2 comments were praising the product and company, both of those comments got courtesy "thank you so much" comments. 4 other comments were complaints (genuine) about connectivity and reliability. The answer they got was "don't blame us, we're a reseller, blame Rogers, the company they buy for. There's only one excuse for that kind of behavior, they want my money and nothing more. They don't care the service sucks. They don't care enough about the consumer to begin investing more into the infrastructure. They want the easy money of reselling another company's product. Don't support them. Find other smaller companies, because this one behaves exactly like the one they buy from. read more

Worst customer service I have ever received. I was told my installation would happen on a Friday between 8AM and 5PM so I stayed home from work that day to wait for somebody to come install and nobody showed up. I called them 3 times that day to ask when a person would be coming and they could not tell me when they would be there, just that somebody is supposed to show up on that day. After waiting at home for 9 hours I called them to let them know that I wanted to cancel service. They told me that it might have been turned on remotely and they wanted me to test my modem to see if this occurred. I told them that they could have told me that on one of the three phone calls I made to them during my 9-hour installation window and that regardless of whether it had been turned on or not I wanted to cancel my service. I then had to send their modem back to them at my own expense and now I have received a notice saying that they want $100 for the installation fee. Sorry TekSavvy, installation fees are for when you ACTUALLY INSTALL THE SERVICE and let me know that it has been installed. After multiple calls to their customer service department, I have been told that they actually did turn on service remotely that day but that they aren't able to tell customers if this has happened or not. If you were able to turn on service remotely then why did I wait at home for 9 hours? Why did you tell me to be at home from 8AM to 5PM because somebody would be coming to install service if I could have gotten home from work that day and installed it myself? I don't think it's reasonable to tell customers to be at home for a 9-hour installation window if service can be activated remotely. I also don't think it's reasonable for TekSavvy to be unable to tell a customer whether remote activation has occurred or not and ask them to test their modem to see whether it has occurred. It's not my job to wait at home for 9 hours and then be told to test my modem to see if it's working, that's your job, that's why I'm paying you the installation fee. You guys had 9 hours to come and install service or let me know that it had been activated and that I could install it myself. After that 9 hours, I think I'm justified in canceling my service and walking away from owing this company any money. I signed up with Novus and they told me the half-hour window that they would be coming to install and then two guys showed up right on time and got the job done in 15 minutes. read more
Before you decide to go with Teksavvy, imagine what your life would be like if the internet was completely gone for several weeks. Are you okay with that possibility? OK, now add an extra $130/year to Teksavvy's rates - it's for your next modem. Trust me, you'll need it. TekSavvy used to be a no-brainer choice. But the service hasn't kept pace with their growth. Now they are good when they work, but the worst possible choice when things go bad. Let's count the ways in which they currently SUCK: 1) LOWEST SERVICE PRIORITY. They rely on Rogers, Bell, etc for their tech support and of course, they are the lowest possible priority for these firms. 2) LOW QUALITY HARDWARE. Teksavvy also uses very poor quality modems. In my case, they break like clockwork every 13 months - just after their warranty expires! 3) VERY LONG WAIT TIMES. Teksavvy's phone service queues are frequently over 35 minutes long. 4) VERY IRRITATING HOLD EXPERIENCE. The hold music/promo/squelchy radio noise is easily the most irritating cacophony of headache-inducing sound I have ever endured while on hold. It's mostly squelchy radio noise! And it's not like I caught them on a bad day. They seem pretty good with having you listen to mostly squelchy radio noise day in and day out. 5) POOR TROUBLESHOOTING. When you do get through, it turns out that they are quite shitty at troubleshooting. Oh they'll put in the time. And so will you, trying this and trying that. But they will come to wrong conclusions. And when you phone back later, the next person will wonder why the last person did whatever the last person did. Basically, you're looking at WEEKS WITHOUT SERVICE due to misdiagnosis. 6) FAILS TO FOLLOW THROUGH - They frequently break promises, failing to do whatever they promise to do when they said they would. Then you call back, they apologize, make a new promise, rinse, repeat. 7) TEKSAVVY DOESN'T CARE ABOUT YOU AT ALL - This is the worst part. They put you through the ringer and then they don't even throw you a bone. How about a month of service on the house for my troubles? Not a chance. "Suck it up" they say, "we're one of the big boys, now". 8) TEKSAVVY MAKES LEAVING DIFFICULT - Trying to quit their service is like trying to quit some sleazeball gym membership. They told me I could quit via email and told me what details to provide. I gave them all the info they wanted but then they told me I would have to call. When I called, no additional details were asked of me. After over 30 days without service, about 6 service calls with literally hundreds of minutes on hold and additional 16 minutes of hold time just so I can cancel, they finally got around to asking me whether I was happy? Salt in wound. I was the first to review TekSavvy back in April 2010. At that time, I gave it 5 stars. Oh, how times have changed. read more

They said they would come after 7 days. Sure.. NOT horrible. We waited for them for 4 hours on the day they said they would come. They didn't show up. When I called in they said that they had not said 7 days but 7 days + 1 month. Reason? "Shaw is busy and is backed up with installs and can't do installs until one month from this day PLUS 5 days" (They use Shaw's installers and network) I called Shaw. They said they could come in a few days. I called back to TekSavvy and they gave the same answer as the last time I called and I cancelled. I called Shaw back and they said that they had multiple times to install internet the VERY NEXT day. It is the next day now and I have internet; and TekSavvy gets 1 star no thanks to them. read more

I have had cable service from them, but I had to cancel. Reason. Customer service. For two months they have been double charging me. When I called them and told them I was moving to a new address they opened up a new account and then continued to charge me for my old account. When I asked them for a refund for their mistake, I was told they don't offer refunds and that I should have canceled the old account. Which was not the understanding I had originally. Be warned they have great customer service when they want to be. But they became cold and silent when it came to their mistake and money needed to be refunded. Disappointing in a service provider that claims they care. read more
Update: we're not with TekSavvy anymore after we moved. We somehow moved into a house with no landline at all. I didn't know this was possible, but here we are. We didn't notice until the day before the TekSavvy guy was supposed to turn on our service. This is apparently what needed to happen: - we needed to find and hire an outside contractor to install a phone line. - we would have to reschedule service activation. - Phone service activation would take about 5 business days to schedule, or take or something. - Internet service activation would take 5 days after that to start working. In all, we would be without internet for 2-3 weeks, which does NOT work for me, since I work from home occasionally. Though TS offers cable internet service, we couldn't get it because of some cap they have in our area. In the end, we went with Rogers since they were able to hook us up with phone and internet inside of an hour when they were there to hook up our cable that day. By the time the guy left, we had a dial tone on our phone and our internet was working as usual. That being said, I like TekSavvy's pricing and no contracts, but when things got complicated, they couldn't step up. We'll probably look into them again once our 1 year contract with Rogers is over, but they still get a slow shake of my head for letting the big guys upstage them service-wise. Also, they still want me to pay $60 for moving my service, which didn't happen. I called 24 hours ahead to cancel the TS activation guy, but they said he still showed up and we have to pay because he came. I wasn't home and the non-existent phone lines aren't working so as far as I'm concerned, I don't owe them anything. I'm not paying for a guy to come and wave his hand over a telephone box that isn't even there. read more
Third and final review/update, as promised. #Rogers and #Bell have their work cut out. I'd say #Teksavvy gets a 3.5 to 4 star rating. Strong and no contest given lousy tel-comm competitors. Installation day was delayed by a few days, but when it did happen it was painless. Five minutes with a Rogers techy and then five minutes of my own time connecting the router. The real star of the show is of course the WONDERFUL INTERNET CONNECTION. Proper speeds and no connectivity issues (dropping, fading, etc). For this reason I round that 3.5 back up to a 4. Coming to you live from happy camper site. read more

I ended my relationship with Rogers about a year ago, mostly due to the bandwidth capping & especially throtling that was playing havoc with my ability to play World of Warcraft. As well, it was well over-priced and I had issue with them trying to charge me for a second outlet - and I live in a tiny junior one bedroom. But I digress. A friend recommended teksavvy and I thought why not, I'll give it a shot. You place an order and purchase a modem (no ridiculous modem rental fees like with Rogers where you end up paying the cost of the modem in under 2 years but they still charge you). The modem is delivered by mail and voila! There's a modem to hook-up. I have had absolutely no problems with the level of service I have gotten. There was one day, just this past week, where I lost access to the interwebs. I tried restarting my computer, resetting the modem and making sure my connections were fine before I called Teksavvy. The lady I spoke to was absolutely lovely and patient with me while she was giving instructions over the phone. Turns out it was a problem on Teksavvy's end. I had to rush off to work and when I got home I had my interwebs. Rogers would have not done anything else, but I got a phone call later that evening from Teksavvy saying that they have noted that there is connectivity on their network and they wanted to confirm that I was getting everything I needed. Teksavvy may be small, but I hope they last. They were very friendly, supportive, patient and understanding when I had that one problem. The access I get is absolutely wonderful, very reasonably priced and Canadian! read more

Teksavvy is a mixed bag. On the one hand, their customer service online via Twitter and DSLreports are very responsive. On the other hand, they are incredibly slow on finding solutions. When a modem was dying on me last year, they couldn't diagnose the problem over a week and didn't even talk about sending a technician out. I eventually went and bought a new modem, after narrowing down my options and what do you know, that fixed it. Right now we're in the middle of putting a move order though, but thanks to 'miscommunications' in the process which started on August 8th, we still don't have internet ready to go at our new place. Customer service agents are very apologetic, but none of that makes the process move any quicker. Speeds are what you'd expect and we've actually had good luck with our uptime, even being near the dreadful Scarlett POI. Teksavvy has their hands tied a bit, having to use Bell and Rogers infrastructure, but it doesn't make the mishandling of some situations any better. I'd recommend them over the large telecoms, because given the lack of options, this is what we are stuck with. read more

Fast. Reliable. Great value for the $$. They are NOT Rogers or Bell. The one time there was an issue, they bent over backwards to get the problem done. Been a teksavvy customer for about 6 weeks now, tech came a coulle days after the order to install, was quick and everything looked good, have 75mbps, usually test around 50-60mbps which is great for downloading stuff, BUT There is constant lag in my ps4 24/7, during peak hours, i cant even connect my phone or ps4 to the internet cuz its so bad, tests show sometimes as low as 1 mbps! After days of back and forth on emails, and tests showing the actual modem is shit, (noticed a lot of other reviews with people saying.they received bad modems), they said a tech would come to fix some signal thing, couple days go by, i ask when he might come.. they tell me it can take over a week to get an actual appointment date and longer than that for the tech guy be here and that might not even fix the problem! Pay a bit more and get the quality service elsewhere! read more

Great speed, good peering with major providers like Global Crossing and no traffic shaping for torrent traffic or other p2p services. This is my TekSavvy saga: I called them to set up Home Phone and Internet service, and they couldn't find me in their directory because my building is new. CSR#1 tells me that he has to have his supervisor add our building to the database, it will take a few hours, and I should call back tomorrow. I call back the next day. CSR#2 tells me that my address is not in their directory, and that CSR#1 will phone me when he hears back from Bell on my request. This is not what CSR#1 told me, and thus probably not what CSR#1 plans to do, but nonetheless, CSR#2 insists it will happen. I decide to give up on TekSavvy and call Bell to move my service, in the process discovering the reason why TekSavvy can't find me. I hang up (politely) on Bell and call TekSavvy back. CSR#3 enters my order, ships me a modem and tells me that my phone service will be set up on the day after I move and my DSL 5 business days later. I work from home and can't wait 5 days for internet, so I decide to get Rogers to set up cable internet temporarily since it is free for 3 months and I can cancel it once my DSL is working. 6 days before I move in, TekSavvy calls to confirm my appointment to have Bell hook up my phone service the next day (TekSavvy is a reseller, so Bell does all the actual work). I call them back and remind them that I don't live there and ask them to reschedule. 5 days before I move in, Bell calls from outside my building asking to be let in. I call TekSavvy back again to reschedule again. The day after I move in, Bell shows up to set up my phone service. They are very rude about it, but that's Bell for you. 2 days after I move in, I get an email from TekSavvy letting me know that they've scheduled my phone service for activation on the previous day. This email would have been more helpful had it arrived 24 hours before instead of 24 hours after that happened. 6 days after I move in, I think 'my DSL is supposed to be up and working today, I should switch over'. Then I realize that nobody has ever provided me with a userID or password for my DSL account. Because I have Rogers set up anyway, I decide not to worry about it. 10 days after I move in -- 5 days after my DSL was supposed to be working -- I got an email telling me that it will be working another 5 days later, unless it gets delayed up to 10 business days. Helpfully, it does include my userID and password for that eventual time when they get it working. I sent them an email pointing out that they've already delayed my installation for 10 days, and another 10 days wouldn't be acceptable. They write back and admit it's just another bad form email that doesn't really apply and that my service will be set up as scheduled. 15 days after I move in, another Bell technician comes, expecting to set up my phone line. I point out that my phone line is perfectly fine, and he's here to set up my DSL. I have no idea if this was a mis-order from TekSavvy or a mistake on the part of Bell, but at that point, all I could do was roll my eyes. Once my DSL was actually set-up by the Bell tech, I had to finish setting it up via my router myself, and it took me a few days to bother doing that. In a rather startling display of competence and customer care, TekSavvy contacted me by both email and phone to check and see if I was having problems, since they hadn't seen any data transfer on my connection. I wasn't having problems, at least not ones they could solve ("I don't wanna crawl under my desk and move wires around" is not really a problem they can be expected to solve), but I really appreciated that bit of attention. When I finally did set up the router, it ended up requiring a quick call to TekSavvy's technical support, who were very fast and very helpful and solved the problem very easily. Everything seems to be up and running properly at this point, and I'm hopeful there'll be no ongoing concerns. My overall impression is that TekSavvy is really set up to take over services for disgruntled Bell customers rather than to set up new customers themselves, and that coupled with the fact that I was trying to get set up in a new building, caused most of the problems. Given the price, and the high download caps, I'm not incredibly unhappy with TekSavvy, but there are a few points where they could stand to improve their CSR training to smooth out some rough spots. At the same time, there are other places where their service is well above average. read more

Switched to TekSavvy this month, can't say enough good things about their Tech Support team. They found a problem with my modem, totally not their fault. They stuck with the problem and sorted everything out for me. I felt like a Customer not just an another account. The team looking after me was personable, knowledge and focused on solving the main problem not just passing the buck. On top of this the service is great, my wife and I deal with a lot of large files for work and my two boys watch too much Netflix and YouTube. No service problems at all. read more

Call again 1.5 hours on the phone... Still no internet... Days later still no internet...weeks later still no internet... Company is a joke read more

I just switched my internet service from Rogers to Teksavvy and I couldn't be happier! Set up was super easy (the majority of it was done online), and their support team was in contact with me shorty after to follow up with setup and any questions or concerns. Initial setup cost was a little pricey since you have to pay for your first month, plus I needed a modem and I had to buy a wireless router, but my long term savings will be great! So happy! Suck it Rogers! read more

OK, so my initial experience with these guys was rather rocky. However, now that I have been with them for over 2 years, I am actually rather shocked by what I wrote about them at the beginning. Their service is extremely reliable and has only gone down once during the two year period. It went down at midnight and I called them at about 12:30 AM to see if anyone was around. I really didn't think anyone would pick pick up and I would just leave a message. To my great surprise, someone answered almost immediately and helped me to reset my modem, which fixed the problem. Now I actually recommend TekSavvy to anyone who wants to save money on cheap, reliable hight speed internet. They also have a referral program that has already saved me over $100 on their already "absolute lowest pricing" that I could ever find. read more
I was with Rogers ultralight plan until they lowered the bandwidth to 2 GB. I was happy with their reliability and service, so I called to negotiate for higher bandwidth to no avail. I then left to Tekksavvy after a long research. I am happy with its DSL speed and price point. 300GB is more than enough for my usual web surfing and online TV viewing. I am happy to stay with Tekksavvy for a long time, as long as the pricing and bandwidth remain reasonable. I, though, recently experienced dropped connection that I usually resolved by resetting my modem. Otherwise, I have no complaint. read more
I'm extremely happy with Teksavvy. Their call centre people are a little like Westjet employees: cheerful, friendly people-persons. When I cancelled my Shaw Internet for a move a few years ago, Shaw insisted on charging me for an extra month and a half. When I moved recently, I expected the same fight from Teksavvy...but Jordan, who I was talking to on the phone, actually SAVED me money by suggesting that if I cut off my Internet a few days earlier than my move date, I could save a whole month's payment! Independent Internet needs all the help in can get in this country, and Teksavvy are doing their part. read more

"Snakes and Weasels belong in the zoo" - Rob Ford I was a happy Teksavvy customer until I got screwed, BIG time. I'll start this review off with a warning... DO NOT SIGN UP WITH TEKSAVVY ! I've lost out on 3 days of work going on 4 because of techs not showing up to the house and CSRs not telling me what's REALLY going on. Not once was I told of vendor issues upon signing up - meaning they can't even secure the service they're selling. Not once was I told that confirmed dates AREN'T REALLY confirmed dates - meaning when they confirm a date it's okay for them not to show up cause they outsource the technical installs to another company that makes you the last priority. Not once was I told that due to high volume I'd have to wait 2 weeks between rescheduling or 2 hours on the phone to speak to someone who responds with "I don't know what happen". There is no excuse for their horrible customer service... let alone... no excuse for blatantly lying to people to get a service... nor told when I'll be able to get said service. A service I've never used, yet I paid for ! When you sign up you're stuck into a written contract with them where you can't get out of until they fix the problem... well they aren't fixing the problem, they refuse to make fixing the problem a priority and they can get away with it. They are only causing me time, money, and stress. This company doesn't deserve my business and they won't give me my money back. I'll definitely be in touch with the Better Business Bureau, what's happening to me and other people isn't right. read more

I can't say enough good things about TekSavvy. I first signed up with them in September 2010 when I moved into a new place, after bad experiences with both of the most-prominent competitors. TekSavvy assumes that you are not stupid; they leave clear instructions on how to wire things up yourself. As it happens, I had a bit of trouble figuring out the phone-jack in my new apartment and called them; although it took 20 minutes to get through from a payphone, they immediately recognised that they'd need an electrician and told me to expect one around 2 PM the very next day. Sure enough, an electrician showed up around 2 PM the very next day. He spent some time tinkering around behind the wall-plate, then went into the basement to adjust some wiring, returned, and installed a new plate with not just one but two standard outlets on it for me. All with a smile and no extra charge. Since then, I have had zero problems. My Internet has literally never gone down; every month I get a statement in my email about what I'm being charged; there's no pressure from contracts or anything; and the one time I had a question about installing a wireless router, I got through right away and had my question answered straightforwardly and succinctly by an employee who was friendly, respectful, and helpful. Couldn't ask for more! read more

Teksavvy was recommended by a friend who's been happy with them for a long time. I tried out their 6MBS Internet and it was always as fast as it was supposed to be. I cancelled because I wanted to get a higher speed and Shaw was offering a price not that much more for a higher speed than teksavvy had at the time. Shaw's speed has turned out to be significantly less than advertised but it's fast enough for me currently, and the modem rental is free, where with teksavvy I had to buy their modem. However, teksavvy has my trust for delivering the speed advertised, reimbursing me for the portion of the month I paid for but only used a week or so of, reimbursing me for nearly the full price of the modem, plus, because they forgot to charge me tax for my initial payment, they waived it for me, accepting full responsibility. I definitely recommend teksavvy. I hope they get higher speeds to compete with telus, Shaw and rogers. When my 2 year contract with shaw is over, I'll be checking what teksavvy's offering. That's another plus for teksavvy; no penalties for cancelling service, whereas I'd be paying heavily if I were to cancel before the two years with shaw. A plus for shaw is they required no advance payment and it was installed the same day I signed up. With teksavvy I had to wait about a week for the technician and the shipped modem. Shaw brought their modem. No waiting without Internet or having to track a package at the post office. When my contract with shaw is nearing its end I'll probably set up an appointment with teksavvy because they reimbursed me fully for the time I didn't use (though I had to pay Canada post $30 to send the modem back to teksavvy), and promptly, and didn't penalize me for canceling. Teksavvy, see you in two years when I'm free again. I'll probably sign up just because I like the honesty and freedom from penalties. Please get faster Internet speed if you can, and if you can't, I'll try to be happy with the admittedly adequate speeds you now offer (25 mbps). Oh, I nearly forgot to mention, teksavvy was charging me $12 a month for a "dry loop", because I had no landline. My friend isn't charged for this. I assume it's because he has a landline. Shaw doesn't charge a dry loop fee. I'm not sure I'll sign up with teksavvy in two years but if they have a deal that offers a terabyte per month that is priced fairly I'll try to swallow my greed for speed and vote for honest advertising and freedom to cancel without hefty penalties. Thank you teksavvy for leaving a good taste in my mouth. *Julia isn't my real name. read more

Read the other reviews on here and observe the large number of useful responses on negative reviews and the small number on the positive reviews. That's a clue to the service you will get with this company. Techsavvy used to have a good reputation but have squandered it over the past few years due to over-priced installations, and atrocious support. Here is my story with these clowns. I was originally supposed to receive a modem/ router combo. They sent me the package and double charged me for shipping (1 for router and 1 for modem, though they are together- one unit in one box). Was also charged for having this unit and never refunded. Tech was originally supposed to come Jan 3rd. Drove an hour from another city to meet tech, who never showed up the entire day. When calling, tech said it was our fault and the date was the 2nd (checked email and confirmed it was the 3rd). Rescheduled to the 8th. Tech called the night of the 7th and said they had to postpone. Did not get service until Jan 18th. A new unit was shipped to me, but only included the modem and I was then told I would need to purchase a router. Bought a router, and immediately experienced issues. When calling customer support, they told me they cannot help because it could be the router and that isn't their problem. I said I wanted credit for all the issues experienced and loss of income (I require internet access for my job). They were originally going to charge me for all of January even though they didn't come until the 18th. After a long hassle, I got them to waive the overly-priced activation fee and got a month and a half worth of credit. Was a pain but I was satisfied with that. Over the next 3 weeks I received 5 invoices adding up to around $300 for the few weeks of terrible internet service I had. When emailing to address this issue, I received a response saying I was getting more than I deserved with the 1.5 months credit, even though I was being charged around double the amount I should have been normally, after the credit was issued. The reply also said tech savvy is for recreational purposes and they are not responsible for lost wages. I'm in the hole hundreds of dollars (and that doesn't include the couple grand in lost wages) for internet I've barely used. Customer support is arrogant and incompetent. Save yourself the time, money and frustration and go with another company. read more

First time yelp reviewer, just wanted to share my experience with TekSavvy. Have been on TekSavvy for a year now, and I have no complaints. I pay $45/month for 30 down/5 up cable. That's in comparison to shaw at $75/month for the same thing. That's $360 difference for this year. Minus the modem purchase for $100, and the $60 set up fee, ends up being $200 savings. Still a good savings, but this also means that every year from now on I'll be saving $360/year. Another cool thing is TekSavvy gives unlimited bandwidth between 2am and 8am. So for anything that isn't time sensitive, I use a download program to delay the downloads until 3am when I'm sleeping. Or for a very reasonable $5/month you can just get unlimited bandwidth 24/7(Which I just signed up to because my wife likes her netflix). I did have a few service outages over a period of about a month, but a little investigation showed that it was an issue with the Shaw network and Shaw eventually got their issues cleared up and haven't had an issue since then. One issue some people complain about is they amount of time it takes to get you set up. That is definitely an issue, but if you're organized and have everything booked in advance it's not usually a problem. If you want to wait till the last minute, and expect them to come set you up the next day, good luck. I'm pretty sure the guy that comes to set you up is a shaw guy, and if so, they're not going to be pushing TekSavvy clients to the front of the list. Besides, I've spent plenty of time waiting as both a Shaw and Telus client as well. TekSavvy is a smaller independent company, which the Canadian government has forced the big players (Shaw/Telus) to allow to use their networks. The big players are currently trying to raise costs to dissuade people from internet media by imposing large bandwidth costs and restrictions, and drive us back towards cable packages. These smaller companies are the only ones giving us a fair option since they aren't trying to push overpriced cable bundles at us. Anyway, I'm getting great customer service, great internet service, am saving $360/year, and am supporting smaller company that are one of the only things keeping the big players honest. I'm very happy. read more

Ok Guys! Here is my Tragic Story. Got this Service after seeing all the good things they say on their ADS.. Fantastic ADS BUT THE WAY, but after all this company is a rip off place and & a place to steal from the people that have good faith and believe on a new way of doing business in this Town. I sign up, Happy enough to believed I was getting a good deal. They first ask me for my credit card, because they are not stupid, they services are so dam bad that they know if they do not charge up front NO BODY, NO BODY Will pay for this Crappy Service. Then they get you set up, Monthly fee $30 dollars, $5 Dollars Stupid fee I not even understand ( I guess, lets call it Rip off fee) Then they get you a technician be careful: they do not have time frame.. they said From 8am to 9pm Time and you can not scheduled anything Why? Let me tell you something... if you a working person you do not have that time to waste for a couple o dudes to come and plug some stupid cables... They design this so you miss it and then you have to pay extra 50 bucks so they can come back after they coffe brake, pretty smart isn't it! Then The shipping FEE... After I buy their modem that is pass 130 dollars!!!! they should give free shipping come on!!! After the Technician if we can call them that way, because they do not have any dam clue what are they doing BOOM No Service!!! (AMAGIN ISNT IT) Well, let's say I can see the sign on the wirless but is just about it, not loading pages, not even my temporals- Frustrating- and then Call again to customer service. The Agent Said: Mr..... I see the problem, but we have to send you somebody again to have a look at it and is an extra 87 dollars to double check ( GREAT WAY OF OF STEALING FROM NEW CLIENTS) leaving me no option to Cut right on the spot this scam !!! No way I got this service a day ago and the second day I returned, THIS TAKESAVVY IS PURE AND DENSE B.S!!! STOP WASTING PEOPLE TIME AND MONEY, BUNCH OF SCAMMERS!!!!! read more

Hi I have been with Teksavvy over 5 years and love the service. I get the speed I pay for all the time (even evenings). Have cable internet - now 60 down - was 40 down. I moved last fall and switched my Teksavvy over and the only problem I had was with the installation was due to Cogeco not showing up when they were suppose to. Cogeco claimed they had the wrong apartment in the condo building. Teksavvvy tried to help by contacting Cegoco and trying to push them. They even called after the revised install date to confirm I had phone and internet. I phoned them several months ago and upped my cable speed from 40 to 60 and it took about 45 minutes to get through. Call them late after 10 pm and the wait time seems to be better. The revised speed was working within 15 minutes. Their service at least on cable is second to none. I provided my own modem and router. I hate the all in ones and got at Motorola SB 6141 cheaper locally. I also have a DLink router and also run their IP unlimited phone on the system. I live in Muskoka and my boyfriend was calling me from a payphone in TO as a local call. The problem with switching from Rogers or Bell is you have to buy another modem or you run into problems as Rogers and Bell have to take you off their database before you can use it. You also sometimes have to deal with Rogers or Bell or Cogeco installers and they consider Teksavvy at the bottom of the rung and do it last. When I switched from Rogers 5 years ago, I returned the modem to Rogers at night and the internet and regular phone was up and running the next day when I got home from work. Conclusion: Service is great but you could run into problems due to the other companies installers. In the long run well worth the upfront cost and hassles. read more

I have it hooked up yesterday. The setup process was reasonably smooth, partly because I had rogers many years ago, so the cable was already set up and all. The technician came in, made sure the signal was still on-----which it was, and out of my house in 2 minutes after helping me hook up the modem. So there it is, a cable with signal and a modem working perfectly fine, EXCEPT: NO INTERNET ACCESS!!! For the next half an hour or so, I was trying to figure out what was happening by checking every connection port, read through every line of the manual, rebooting the modem, etc. Nothing seemed to be working. So I had a phone call to their tech support and was put on hold. The tech support hotline had an extremely long holding time. I was on it for about 45 minutes without anyone answering. So I hook my computer back to my old Bell modem (I deliberately have the set up date overlap with my old service for three days, in case anything unpleasant happens), trying to open an online ticket, then something magically happened------The modem rebooted itself and then, viola! I had internet access. Yay! Immediately I did a speed test, it shows I only have slightly over 2Mbp of downloading speed. I paid for a cable30 service, which in theory, should give me 30Mbp of downloading speed!!!! I know it is probably naive to expect it to be as fast as it has promised, but 2 Mbp???? Come on, you gotta be kidding... I am planning on to give it a few days to sort of "warm up", but if it remains like this, they will have to deal with a very angry new customer. All in all, I'd way the Teksavvy statement: different in a good way, might be at least, partially true. However, as an ISP, given the market condition in Canada, some things just would never change. read more

Teksavvy sales order person was very kind and helpful. I ordered the 5Mps internet cable (including Hitron CDA3 modem). I received the modem 4 days after my order. The Teksavvy lady that was looking after my order told me technicians would come and install the internet a week after my order at the time I preferred (6-8pm). (The technicians are Rogers technicians and not Teksavvy. Teksavvy and other independent ISPs use Rogers and Bell technicians to do in person technical work on behalf of them.) The technicians didn't show up at the time I was told they were going to come. Then the lady apologized and said that she had emailed Roger's. So We scheduled another day at the same time frame. The technicians didn't show up again. Then a Roger's dispatcher calls me and tells me the technicians didn't show up because they had a flat tire. Which I figure then it was BS. The technicians were just too lazy to do work at that time. Then the Teksavvy lady apologized again and we scheduled for a day time (10-12 am ) for another day. The technicians then showed up and installed everything. My internet works great now. 5Mps is fast enough for me because I live by myself. I had great experience with Teksavvy when I was living at my parent's place and that is why I chose them when I moved out. So in conclusion, Teksavvy is the best ever. Its even cheaper than Start and other independents if you compare the prices. Start doesn't even offer the lower than 15Mps in my area at least. When you are ordering Teksavvy, chose day time hours as your preferred installation time. Rogers is garbage. The only problem I had installing my internet was because of Rogers. Teksavvy was great in all of this and I am now enjoying my internet. read more

I have been using Teksavvy for almost 2 years and have no complaints. I have never had to wait on hold and the one issue I had, they managed to get a tech to my unit the next day. All the complaints typically come down to one thing, they are at the whims of the ISP they rent the lines from. When scheduling a service appointment, TS customers are at the bottom of the list from the other ISP. When dealing with system issues, the ISP forces them to fill out excessively long and convoluted ticket forms and have to wait for a response before they can relay the info back to the customer. I have had a couple conversations with TS reps, they are perfectly willing to tell you what's up. I wanted to have my bandwidth increased and the rep told me I might need a tech from the other ISP come by run "a test" before upping my bandwidth. He said they often times request this. I said that was odd, and he said he knows but it is something the ISP requests (clearly to cause inconvenience to the customer). Most ISPs make it very hard for resellers to do business. The ONLY reason why internet is becoming more affordable ) is because resellers exist. Local ISPs constantly send me ads with "introductory" pricing with the sheer intent of luring me away from resellers. People don't understand that as soon as these resellers go out of business due to all of their customers being drawn away, prices will go back up. I will happily pay a little more than some "introductory/temporary" savings to make sure there is actual competition in the market. read more
I made a huge mistake switching to Teksavvy. I had heard great things about the company, yet from the get-go I have had issues with this company. 1) They kept messing up my order and they were one month late in setting up my internet. I gave them my full address and I kept getting e-mails stating, "your order cannot be processed. Please contact us immediately." It turns out that they did not make a note of my apartment number the 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th time. In total, I gave them my apartment number 4 TIMES! How difficult is it to make a note of an apartment number, specially when I gave this information to 4 reps! Ridiculous! 2) Internet stopped working on day 5! 3) I am on hold. I have been wanting to have my internet fixed for a week now. I have been on hold for 47 minutes! I tried their chat option, but there are no reps available there either. Huge mistake switching to this company!! I wish I hadn't. **Update: It has been almost 2 weeks and still no internet, or callback or any type of follow-up. I get that it is a busy time for Teksavvy but how is it acceptable that I have waited on hold for over 4 hours in 3 days, and even writing on their blog about my concerns has not elicited a response? What have I tried so far: Requested a callback twice, sent 2 e-mails, called and waited on hold for over 45 minutes each time (over 4 hours so far), wrote on Teksavvy blog about my lack of service. Response? Nothing. read more

Their staff are friendly and likeable. Unfortunately all of their services rely on bell or rogers technicians to service their lines. So you are pretty much out of luck if you have any issue at all. Which you will. I tried to upgrade my DSL speed with teksavvy. After a week, they sent a bell technician who put the line out of service (no internet) . I spent a week on the phone, and spoke to pretty much every customer service rep in their chatham office. Each of them made me go through the same process of resetting the modem (about 15 times). After that, they finally sent out another bell tech. This bell tech cancelled his appointment on me, because it was too close to the end of his shift. They then rescheduled the appointment again. The bell tech failed to show for the rescheduled appointment. I'd conservatively estimate I spent around 12-14 hours of phone calls and missed appointments to come to no real solution. I cancelled and signed up with Rogers. It's more expensive but at least I have internet. After cancelling, I received an email from teksavvy requesting that I return the modem that I purchased (about $120) from them, or be charged for it. I had to call in and have them confirm that I had purchased the modem. The rep mentioned I would not be charged and they made a mistake, but I'm not holding my breath. Anticipating having to dispute it once they charge my card anyway. BOTTOM LINE AVOID AT ALL COSTS read more

TECK SAVVY SERVICE SUCKS !!!!!! They don't send out technicians to fix problems with wifi box. Instead I have to call in monthly and trouble shoot for an hour to get my internet back up !!! They say wait times and have you wait on hold for hours later than the time stated by their automated message! I was just told I would be on hold for 15 minutes yet I have been on hold for an hour ! The message continues to say I will be on hold for 15 min. And just now has gone up to 30 min.... EDIT : call wait time went up to 30 min and then went up to an hour !!! After waiting on hold for two hours someone picked up and didn't say anything and hung up on me !!! My service just completely turned off and the bill was just paid two weeks ago !!! They have a message saying their services are completely shut down !!! I'm so pissed off right now and I will be cancelling and changing my service provider !!!! They have the WORST SERVICE!!!! AND MAKE YOU PAY FOR THE INTERNET BOX ! Unlike other companies!!! Oh and they will also completely cut your service off if your late on a payment !!!!!! I was past due 56$ a few months back and they turned off my internet and wouldn't turn it back on until I paid then one month past due by three weeks which was on 56$ !! Don't waist your time or money !! read more

I am living in the Markham area and have switch from Rogers to Teksavvy's Cable 30 Lite for over 8 months now and the internet service is as smooth as before (which shows that Roger's cables are fine) but the speed and price is far more desirable. I bought the most basic Thomson Cable modem from NCIX before applying for their service -- you will need the code from a modem before they could activate your service, that means ordering from them or get one yourself. It turned out that buying one from NCIX is no cheaper than ordering from them. So unless you have one from your previous ISP it would be simpler to order it from Teksavvy. There is really not much to do to activate the service. Very straightforward and uneventful. As I've never had any problem with the internet connection so far, I cannot comment on their customer service. But my question about the modem before using their service got answered effectively. I also like their detailed and up-to-date usage report. (Roger's one is awful by comparison and I got over my usage limit twice unexpectedly, and without warnings...) The internet speed tested through CIRA.ca is about what's been promised (up/down: 5/28Mbps instead of the 'up to' 5/30Mbps advertised.) Not much to complain about so far! read more

I have been with Teksavvy for 4 years. Never had any issues at all. My monthly bill for the same service has only gone down since I signed up which I've never heard of! Recently my kids have their own devices so there are more demands on my Wi-Fi. Started to have trouble with the WiFi only dropping. Called Teksavvy support to figure out why. They could not have been more friendly and helpful. I'm not very good with electronic stuff but they were determined to help me. Modem just needed an update, and they walked me through it all the way with tons of encouragement, and even dumbed down the terms for me. I called them later to find out the problem was with my router which is not their piece of tech. They didn't tell me it's not their problem. In stead, they vowed to research my router and figure out the best possible solution to get me back and running. It took some time to get me back on line, but they kept encouraging me and saying they won't give up until we get it right! We did, eventually, and my internet is BLAZING fast now. I could not say enough about this company and their support employees who bend over backwards to help. Great internet from a company that actually seems to care about their customers! My hat is off to these guys! read more

Hi.. I had TekSavvy but cancelled after the first month. I had DSL and was supposed to be getting 15mbps download & 10mbps upload. Their customer service was great (until I said I wanted to cancel) but they never fixed any of the problems for the long run... I was somtimes getting close to the "up to 15mbps" i was paying for but frequently I would experience speeds of 1-3.5 mbps download. Brutal. They tried to blame it on my router but I tried it at a friend's place (in the same building as me) that had bell DSL and it worked like a charm for the whole damn day... Needless to say I switched to Virgin "Steve" internet and am not looking back. I've consistently been getting the full speed that I'm paying for! Highly recommended. And they two have awesome customer service. 2/5 stars as I've defintley had better. I thought it might have been because DSL was crappier than cable or something as I've always had cable in past places I've lived for the past 3 years but I never had a problem with Bell or Rogers cable back then.....Looks like TekSavvy gets the shitter part of the Bell network or something! Also 2 stars because the internet did still work it was just very slow and I felt ripped off... read more

Montreal QC, New house in Canada. I called them to order their DSL internet. We Firstly took a date in 4 or 5 days for the Bell electrician to pass make the change. It is mandatory. They asked me my credit card number and told me that there was no other way to pay. Then, before we concluded a deal, suddently, the date in 4-5 days we took won't be available for a technician to pass, they said. At that time the visa credit card is already charged and the electrician date is not even taken). I then asked to take a rendez-vous with a technician on weekends only and that brings me to many months of waiting. I work 12 hours a day from monday to friday most of the time. Too long for me. I said, I cancel everything and want a refund. They said they will refund me. I checked the visa status 1 week later, they did refunded me. Important: If your only availability is on weekends only, know that you could wait 2 to 6 months for a mandatory electrician to pass, so that you do not call them and loses their time. This way everything is clear, and it is probably a wonderful company when you get their services. read more

Finally decided to leave Rogers. Rogers: Express Cable - $48.99/month Modem Rental - $7/month 18M Down 514K Up 80Gb Usage (CONTRACT) I could never get more than 15M, download was always slow. Customer service was crap. Always gave me answers that wouldn't solve the issue. I requested to get a new modem from them because mine wasn't working that well but they said I needed to upgrade to a more expensive plan or else I will have to buy it at full price. Had enough so I changed to teksavvy. Teksavvy: Express Cable - $39.99/month Modem Rental - NONE ($65 Dollars For Purchase) 18M Down 514K Up 300Gb Usage (NO CONTRACT) It was really simple. Went over to the store to save $10 on shipping which was mandatory on the website. The gentlemen there made it so that I would get internet the day I disconnected from Rogers. I didn't have any downtime or what so ever. I also got another $10 OFF the modem they were selling. Would suggest to people if you are changing from ROGERS or BELL to get cancellation date then going to the store as soon as possible so they can help you make everything seemless. read more

We have been using Teksavvy for 3 years, and have recommended it to many people. They are reliable and fast, and they don't throttle like Rogers does. The price is great too! There are three very heavy users in our household, and we pay $47 including tax per month. Mr. J's complaints are actually things that are done by Rogers. Since Rogers has to send someone out to physically connect the cable (or Bell in the case of DSL) they drag their feet on it to frustrate customers of their competitors. Rogers also does billing and collections for anyone who is selling cable internet, so they try to frustrate you there too. However, once you're connected, the service runs smoothly and on the odd occasion there is a problem, I have had great success with Teksavvy's support via phone and e-mail. They respond to me quickly and make every effort to get things working right. I recommend buying your own modem from Canada Computers, as they don't cost much and you can get the same model modem there that Teksavvy would sell or rent to you. Then you don't have to deal with shipping. read more

I had Teksavvy internet service in Abbotsford, BC, in 2016 and then moved. When I returned to Abbotsford in 2017, I was able to use Teksavvy again. Unfortunately, there was a connection issue and no internet signal was being detected. Their customer service rep Les was really good about following up with me and when the connection issue was resolved through Shaw Cable, Teksavvy gave me a credit for the 2 weeks I paid for that I was not able to use. I have always had reliable service from them in the roughly 2 years I have been an on again/off again customer. My only complaint with the company so far is that on the two intial occasions I had to call them to restart my service and to resolved the connection issue I had 40 minute and 60 minute waits. However, once I spoke to them I was put on direct access and was able to call and speak to their customer service people immediately. As an added bonus for the same price I paid last year I now get unlimited downloads and had a cheaper connection fee! So after all that I would still recommend them. read more

Our family has been facing serious internet connection issues with Tek Savvy for more than 5 months now! We attempted to switch from wifi connect to cable internet, but it has never worked properly, and as a result, we have had to PAY for both services for 4 months now!! We have called multiple times to report ongoing (DAILY) outage issues (March 2020, April 2020, June 2020 and recently a few weeks ago) on both sources of internet connection, but have had no real solutions provided by customer services (just simply "unplug and try again"). We have now had our modem replaced, and it is STILL NOT FUNCTIONING PROPERLY! During this COVID-19 context when we are operating work out of our home, these services is imperative, and continually falling short! Daily, the internet has a long portion of outage (usually 2 - 3 hours) where both connections do not work (both plug-in and wifi). We are anxious for the company to come up with an actual solution, before continuing to rip us off and to provide extremely sub-par services. read more

This company's service is abysmal and totally disappointing. From the moment I attempted to cancel my subscription, I encountered sheer incompetence. Their representative abruptly hung up on me as soon as I mentioned my intention to cancel. When I needed a simple relocation of services within the same building, it took them 10 days to respond, despite a lengthy one-hour phone call to explain the straightforward move. To make matters worse, they initially agreed to change the cable, only to backtrack via email and abruptly terminate my portal, containing all my vital information and billing details. Upon calling them again to ensure the cancellation of my subscription, the agent abruptly ended the call while I was still seeking clarification. It's uncertain whether my subscription was actually canceled. In all my experiences with service providers in Canada, this has been by far the worst. Their lack of professionalism and disregard for customer satisfaction are utterly unacceptable. read more
