The Price - 5 Stars. The Service - in the last 6 months my net has been down 3 times. 7 weeks total. The Call Centre Service - Min wait time - 12mins. Max wait time - 45mins. The Service Reps - No communication between departments. i.e. tech support & accounts. Why 2 stars? Average time on the phone - 1 hour. They NEVER EVER offer reimbursement for the 7 weeks without service yet continued to send me late notices. Their departments do not communicate with each other. Good Product, Terribly Run Company. I hope they improve as I would like to continue to support them. (Even if they treat us customers so poorly) read more

I have been with TekSavvy for a little over 1 year. I moved to a different place and they offered me a new deal they have 75mbps for $23.27 in 6 months and then after it will be$60 plus taxes. The tech comes in on Tuesday, October 1, at a scheduled time. I took a whole DAY OFF from work to do this. Then the tech tells me he can not do anything because he needs to drill a hole to make a new wire. Tells me I need landlords permission to do this (Ok, right why TekSavvy never told me about cases like this when I was making an order????Why TekSavvy doesn't warn you that "if there's a possibility to make holes they need landlord AND his signature"?????????? How would I know this??? I call the owner while the tech is still in my apt. The landlord gives permission I hung up the phone tell the tech about this and only AFTER I hung up already with my landlord he tells me they also need his signature??????????? Can you maybe tell me this before I called him??? Tuesday evening: luckily my landlord came to my apartment to check the furnace I gave him the letter to sign. He signed, TekSavvy rescheduled the tech for Wednesday, Oct. 3, between 4 PM-6 PM I had all my papers ready, LEFT WORK 1HOUR EARLY to not miss the Tech. Guess what happened next? I waited at home for 2.5 hours like an idiot for the Tech that NEVER SHOWED UP. Spent about 40 minutes on the phone with TekSavvy saying "THEY DONT HAVE ANY CONTROL OVER TECHNICIANS". If they reschedule and the Tech doesn't show up AGAIN and I'll be waiting like an idiot for someone who won't show up and the Internet company doesn't have any control over them then HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO FINALLY GET IT DONE???????? It's been almost 1 week since I am trying to get my Internet installed at my home still didn't get it. Honestly, it shouldn't be so difficult and stressful to install the Internet or anything. THE WORST experience with TekSavvy. read more

0 or less is my rating! Ongoing issues since 2020. Next to no service in January. I spent hours troubleshooting with reps. It barely changed and they said after 3 weeks of next to no internet, I had to wait 7 more days! It was slightly improved. But still horrible. Today I could work, lagging and having to reload videos as the internet could not support it. I pay for their highest package available. Over an hour on the phone again. More troubleshooting. They refused to send a rep to fix it unless I spent another 2-3 hours troubleshooting. I am done with Tek Savvy. they also told me that the Google router. or 15 complaints earlier was possibly the cause of the problem. After reading other reviews, it seems like a standard response from tech savvy to start blaming wiring and other hardware. It is simply their poor customer service. They are horrible Internet, and their inability and non-willingness to rectify problems with their systems. Avoud text savvy. read more

I have never been so disappointed in a company in my life. They dont even deserve 1 star. The world is in a pandemic over 1 million people have lost their jobs. People are supposed to help eachother during this crisis, Mortgage and loan payments are being deferred however Teksavy cancelled my internet over $127 past due account. I have been customer for almost 2 years and even if I may have been late my account has always been paid .I'm single mother with 2 kids who lost their job because of COVID 19. I try and make a credit card payment and you wont even reconnect my services for over 2 weeks if that. leaving my kids with no way to do their school work at home what a joke. They also want me to print a shipping label so I can ship the modem back, kinda hard to do that with no internet. Also they want me to go deliver their modem to a Canada post store I'm sorry but my first priority during a pandemic is not making sure they get that modem. I will treat them the same way they have treated everyone else who has been screwed by them. I have contacted my local news station to let them know about this situation and the lack of compassion Teksavy has shown during this pandemic. After reading some of these reviews it's very clear to me they could not care less about customers Thanks for nothing read more

*** GETTING THROUGH TO CUSTOMER SERVICE IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE, BUT THEY'RE GREAT ONCE YOU DO *** So this service is great if you're broke/don't want to spend an arm and a leg on internet, and works great for the price you pay, but good luck cancelling it if you ever have to, or trying to contact any realm of their customer service through phone (I'm not sure about email). No matter what day, or time you call they are ALWAYS "experiencing higher than normal call volumes". Currently I'm waiting for a callback (which I had to be on hold for 15 minutes to get offered), because I finally have an afternoon to spare, and it's been an hour for "average 30 minute wait times". I've been trying to cancel my internet for literally MOTHS because it can't be done online, and I didn't have hours to spare to spend on hold. This isn't the first time I've canceled (I've moved a lot in the last few years, and I've lived in some places that already had internet), and I had to go through the same thing last time. *** HOWEVER *** Once I did get through, the person I spoke to was very polite, and they refunded/credited me back for the months I wasn't using the internet. So it is a pain in the butt, but if you can get through to them the customer service is great. read more

Three weeks of no internet and counting. I placed an order for internet three weeks ago, and was given an incorrectly scheduled time for the nearest Saturday back then. When I called wondering where the technician was (and I have had the router already mailed to me by this point) I was told there was a scheduling error and I would need to wait over a week. When that time passed once again the technician never arrived. I was home all day, and my buzzer goes to my phone. No missed calls. I call, once again (over an hour wait times by the way) and while they are "pulling up my account" the customer service rep hung up on me. I call again, back to the start of the hour queue. They claim the dispatch arrived (he didn't) and tried to call me (he didn't). We verified my number and address were correct and I was automatically, once again without anyone contacting me to inform me, scheduled for a full week in advance. This, of course was entirely unacceptable. They refused to compensate me, even refusing to send an additional complimentary data hub so I could at least have something. I still don't have internet. They told me someone would reach out to me within 24 hours and I am still waiting on that. I may be waiting the full week, bringing me to a grand total of over three weeks of no internet...and that's even if they decide to send someone this time. Never go with TekSavvy. Their prices are low and you get what you pay for. This has been by far the worst customer experience in my life, and I have been constantly tugged around with blame being shifted from one party to another over and over again. read more

Extremely bad service. Ordered self-install service with existing modem last week and was told I'd get a call within two days to confirm installation date. No call. I call on the third day, and am told modem is still being confirmed and someone will call Monday. No call again. I call today, Tuesday, and lo and behold am told that I should have released the modem from the previous ISP in order to use it. How the h*ll am I supposed to know that? Why wasn't I told that in the first place, when I placed my subscription? Instead of offering an apology and a discount, I get someone talking customer service jargon at me and our household of four, where everyone is working remotely, has to wait for internet for yet another week. Avoid this company. read more

Currently packing up all my work and going to the library for their Wi-Fi connection. This internet service provider is much cheaper, however it comes at a cost. Every other day videos do not load on social media sites. My partner actually went over his data on his phone last month because that is how often the internet disconnects at home. There have been multiple days (usually during the daytime) when I cannot work because there is another internet outage in Toronto. Overall the internet can be very slow during the day. I have never had a streaming issue with watching a movie at night. If you are willing to put up with cheap yet very patchy, slow internet service consider this company. read more

The service has never been what they said it would be since day1. The service is always slower than what they promise. The VOIP Grandstream device is total garbage. I can not believe I am paying for this crappy service. They should have to give people there money back when they send them shit devices. The tech support or lack there of is ridiculous ... hours of waiting on the line for them. Why so they can fix the POS device for the tektalk service. Going to have to look for a new provider this one sucks. read more

Don't waste your time! Not Organized! Bad customer service! I called and booked internet service two months in advance with Teksavvy. I was told the date I have given them is definitely not a problem because it was early and for sure there is not a problem. I was told it will be in the afternoon and got a email that day regarding the installation. Two days before the actual installation, I asked to confirm approximately what time the technician will be dropping by. They say they have no idea what time in the afternoon the technician will by coming over. Fair enough, I thought. I can work on other things and wait for them to come. On the day of the installation, I waited 5 hours and no technician showed up. I was told the installation is changed to the morning. However, I did not receive any update changes from teksavvy prior to that or receive any calls from the tech in the morning that they're coming over. And, this was my day off. Now, I will need to take another day off which I have no idea when. Until then, I have no internet at my home. read more

I have no issues with Teksavvy's Customer service, I think they're a group of very professional and nice people. My disappointment is about their policy and actual internet service. When the internet is good, it's good but, We get downtime frequently at night or noon. Not sometimes, but frequently. We ended up canceling the service but, changed our mind to upgrade instead, one day later. because maybe it's just the package we've been using and not the service itself. We were using the 25mbps DSL. When we decided to cancel our cancelation to upgrade to a better service, we were refused because cancelation already went through apparently. I asked to start a new account and said yes, they can do that, but not until April 20th of this month. I said we can't wait because we work from home because of the COVID 19 outbreak. so I asked to just revert it back to what we had before, but still, despite us having the modem, and the same line, we are still required to wait until the 20th. We've put up with this company for years, paid our dues on time, but yet, I feel as If I am not valued as a customer, and they're not willing to meet your requests. I highly, highly recommend staying away from this company. read more

I cannot recommend TekSavvy with their current stability woes. Consider the sunk costs that you need to by your own modem with TekSavvy if you end up having a 4 day outrage forcing you to seek alternative services. You are likely finding yourself paying the same cost if not more than service from the likes of Bell and Rogers. And as you can get some pretty good promotion deals from the big telecoms. It is not always better to go with a small company like TekSavvy. read more

Port Coquitlam customer. Very unhappy. 1. Multiple issues with tech support not keeping me updated. 2. Install estimate changed from approx 2 days to ~10 days, ended up paying for additional month of Shaw service. 3. Connection was recently 'misconfigured by TELUS' resulting in days of downtime until they could persuade TELUS to send a tech. 4. Forced to purchase a wireless repeater to get coverage for a 1500 square foot townhouse. 5. Laughable tech support advice such as 'buy a long network cable so you can move the modem around inside your house' kind of defeats the purpose of them selling me a wireless router. 6. No hidden fees - except the $120 a year additional 'dry loop' connection fee. These guys are at the mercy of TELUS and SHAW here in Poco. All I get is empty apologies. I wish I'd never switched to them. I lost money moving to them. Stupid me. read more

Worst internet service ever. Knowingly sold me a $200 modem that they know doesn't work. Wifi and Ethernet internet randomly cut out, wifi suddenly unlocked itself with no user input, making it free for anyone to use, and then when attempted to reset the password, did not work at all. Not I'm out of Internet and out of $200... They suggested I buy a router, or said they will give me a worse modem, downgrade my speed, and guess what... All for the exact same price I've been paying for the better service. This company is a joke. read more

The lines in my house and to the street were completely screwed. It took multiple unqualified technicians ×5 to finally figure out the issue after months of daily outages. When the problem was actually discovered it took another 4 months to get it fixed. The staff don't care to read your file or update themselves on the situation. I had hours upon hours of time wasted being on the phone with there so called staff. To then have to basically threaten to sue for compensation for them refusing to do their job and provide the service I was paying for. I've paid 150 a month for cable and internet for half a year plus of issues to get 20$ off my bill for 6 months. There router's are crap I paid 300 for a real one to actually get the signal I pay for. Tv box is crap you have to log in online and rest it weekly. And there tv app technically isn't supported by most tvs...they practically force you to but an Amazon fire stick. App constantly screws up on TV. Logs you out randomly very un user friendly. Highly recommend avoiding if you don't want to get screwed screwed. At least rogers and bell get on there screw ups and compensate you appropriately. read more

Not a good start. At first they changed our installation date from Aug 1st to Aug 6th. After asking them, we installed it ourselves and waiting for the services to start since more than a day. Cheap and you get what you pay for. I was a customer for over a year and the Internet connection was temperamental. Even though I had unlimited Internet I never got to use it because it was so unreliable. I called them up and they just tell me to change the Ethernet cable each time. I got so fed up I cancelled it eventually (took me a while as I felt like I never got the ROI on the cost of set up and the modem) and used my cellphone internet for tethering until I found Virgin Internet. Virgin gave me a free modem and two months FREE! I pay about the same amount as I did with Teksavvy without the bitterness and the unreliable connection. As a customer, Virgin is way nicer to me and makes me feel more valued as a customer. Teksavvy does not give a damn once you start paying. Teksavvy is cheap for sure, but you get what you pay for and in some cases, no Internet at all. read more

So I think the core of their issue is that they are taking advantage of the CRTC rules that require ISPs to share their networks (Shaw and Telus here in Alberta). Teksavvy does not have their own infrastructure - they use Shaw and Telus networks. So Shaw and Telus have to share but there's nothing say they have to ensure the quality of the network performance they provide to Teksavvy and thus their customers. It's clear that Shaw is tagging their traffic so that Teksavvy customers get the lowest performance when usage gets heavier. Nights and Sundays like today I can get as low as 1-2 Mbps on my 30 Mbps service! Teksavvy will not respond until you do 4-5 pages of troubleshooting like pings, route statements, ipconfig commands - things that customers should never even know exist (and I'm sure this is to meet a Shaw requirement) before they'll even consider your performance issues. I repeatedly sent e-mails to their customer service departments and they won't listen to my overall concerns until I do individual troubleshooting on each ticket - and we all know there's no point in doing so. So they have good prices ($49 for 30 Mbps with NO CAP) but it doesn't matter because their service is so spotty, you can't rely on it. Shaw is offering 150 Mbps services now for $50/month but after 6 months, it goes up to $80 and then back to their normal $135/month and it still has a 1 TB cap (which I hit regularly, which is why they kicked me off their service to start with - yes, they DO enforce their cap!) So...I don't seem to have any good options at all now...these telecom companies are as greedy and crooked as they come. read more

We had been getting internet outages over several days, so we called the tech support line. We were on the phone for 3 hours (a good chunk of that on hold) to get the modem working again. 2 price increases within a year! First one was $5 and now additional $10. Are you nuts? They've offered cheaper package, but it is only HALF the speed (30Mbs vs 60Mbs) and it's the still over what I initially agreed to pay($49)! They say that the price hike comes from additional bullshit taxes that the government is imposing on them. Screwing people when they need their money the most?... Good job, keep it up! read more

I am not happy with teksavvy solutions, for almost a year I have been $50/month for my dry loop, high speed DSL and up to 400GB. I have problems with my service 1-2 a month which is frustrating, and they send excessive threatening emails if you are even a couple of days late paying your bill... I was on a trip so I paid my bill a week late and this was the subject line of my latest email: This is an automated manual SARA CLUBB Cancellation Notice (3 Days) from TekSavvy Solutions Inc. / This is an automated notice SARA CLUBB Cancellation Notice (3 Days) TekSavvy Solutions Inc. So unnecessary! At least save the threat for the body of the message... I'm switching providers and I recommend using another company. And TekSavvy customers could eventually receive a letter from Voltage threatening legal action. I had been signed up to TekSavvy in BC. I moved to Ontario. I canceled my account when I left BC because I wasn't sure exactly when I was going to set it back up. 1 month later I call to reset up my account using the same modem but at my new address in Ontario. They said I would have to pay an activation fee of 112.00$ I said sure. I gave them my card number and they took my money. After taking my money he said he wasn't sure when they would send a technician out to activate it. I told him I already have internet going to this house to my tenants in the basement. He than said he doesn't know if they could set it up now because there is different cable going into the house. At this point I told them not to worry about it and that I would like to cancel. They than told me I can't get my activation fee of 112.00$ back until I send them the router within two weeks. Considering there is a pandemic and the mail is behind, I told them I might not be able to get it to them that soon. Than they basically said "that's too bad". And why are they holding my activation fee which has nothing to do with the modem? They literally took my money, held it hostage, And told me if I don't send the router back I won't get my refund... unbelievably unprofessional. I will never use these guys again man. I'm actually talking to a buddy who is a lawyer to see if what they did is legal. If it is and they don't give me my money back I'm going to try and sue. Usually I wouldn't be this upset, but I'm done having to to deal phone and internet company's. All they do is lie, and steal your money when your not looking. Had been their customer for more than 3 years. From past few months their service was pathetic. Made many complaints and yet it was not resolved. Finally decided to go with some other service provider. Had called them on 11 June 2019 requesting service cancellation on 29 June 2019. A day later wanted to change the date to 24 June 2019, so called their customer care again and was surprised to know that they had already disconnected the connection. When complained about their mistake they said, they will review the call recording and resolve the issue. But below is the response I got from them. Can't believe they are so careless for their loyal customer... Hello, I'm sorry this has happened to you. This is definitely something we do not want our customers to go through. I have sent an updated request to Shaw to change the cancellation date to June 29th as originally requested. We will try our best to keep the service active until then, however this is not guaranteed. They get 1 star because it is not possible to give them less. I have been with teksavvy on and off for years throughout Ontario and Quebec, since relocating to Ottawa, this is by far the worst service. First they sold me a faulty modem, and have called 3 techs out to my apartment to check the line, all 3 have said that the modem is my problem. Teksavvy has for 2 months done everything they can to avoid replacing the faulty modem they sold me. I give Teksavvy a full 5 stars for price, quality of service and customer service. Bell who provides the phone lines 1 star. I have been with Teksavvy since March of 2018 and the only problem I ever had was with Bell. The DSL modem was an easy set up and I had service immediately. Bell had been to the house for the setup of the line and made the comment "You will probably have us back because these 3rd party providers are no good". The internet was terrible and I called Teksavvy CSR to solve the problem. They arranged for a Bell tech to come the next day and I was told that the line was defective as there was water in it to the house from the outside box. He supposedly switched me to another line and left. Again terrible internet. Again immediate service from the Teksavvy CSR (never waited on hold once for a rep during all of this) and once again had a Bell tech attend the next day. This one told me that the line was ok but that I would have better service if it was restricted to 5mps rather than the 6 I was set up for. He left and the internet was fine for a couple of days and then acting up again getting no more than 1.5mps speed download. Once again a Teksavvy rep assisted me and could find nothing wrong at their end. Again he arranged for Bell to attend and finally I got a Bell Tech who knew what he was doing. He found that the line from the switch 2 kms away to a junction box a block away was faulty and solved the problem. I have not had one problem with the Teksavvy DSL since and it made it more stable to set it at 5mps instead of the 6. I can run two Netflix tvs simultaneously without any buffering problems. I have even had 3 running. The internet has been down only twice and it was for service which Teksavvy notified me of ahead of time and it is only down briefly during night sleeping hours. I have nothing but accolades for this company and I suspect a lot of the bad reviews posted are fraudulent. I have never had anything but polite, courteous and very helpful customer service reps with this company and have never waited on hold to get one. Keep in mind that most likely problems encountered with DSL internet have to do with the phone lines into the home and not the ISP. Thankfully Bell finally sent someone with the knowledge and will to solve the problem. Give a little empathy to these Bell Techs as they are paid next to nothing and are not treated very well by their company. A little empathy shown to them will result in a better job solving your problem. read more

Brutal. Don't do it. Paid $180, Internet never even connected. A Bell technician did come out twice, but only to say it was Teksavvy's responsibility to provide me with a telephone jack I could plug the modem into. Teksavvy said it was Bell's responsibility. I signed up for TekSavvy as a way to lower my internet cost. I signed up during a promotion and it was very easy to do. A time was set up the following week for the technician to come out to hook up the modem which would be sent in the mail. I received the modem and then the evening the tech was supposed to show up, he didn't. I tried to call support and it was a one hour wait. I got on chat and waited 30 minutes. The chat guy told me, after some messing about, that my order was rejected??? No reason given and I would have to call back at 8:00 am the next day. Of course, thinking that my internet would be active with teksavvy on Wednesday night, I had put in a cancellation for Bell on Thursday. I call Thursday morning at 8:00 am and the support guy tells me that "Oh yeah, it was their mistake" and yippee he can arrange for a tech to come out on Friday afternoon". I told him this was not acceptable. For one, it was their mistake and I am a brand new customer and they should get someone out today. And two, my daughter is at camp and I am a single parent so who is going to pick her up? He was dismissive and told me it was the best he could do. I asked to speak to a supervisor and he said that no one was available so I could leave a message and someone would get back to me in 24-48 hours. I told him to cancel me immediately. As a brand new customer I knew if they were going to treat me this shabbily then it would only get worse as an existing customer. I wasted 5 hours on this shoddy company. Absolutely the worst experience ever. I went through their websites internet service set up, got the receipt and confirmation in my email, charged my credit card 151 dollars. Then 2 days later I decided to give them a call just double check and make sure the technician is coming in on the confirmed date, and only to be told that "something went wrong" and my booking didnt go through at all. In fact they couldnt even find my file. The agent rescheduled for me, for a whole 9 days later. During these 9 days, I called 2 more times just to really make sure its actually happening, as well as giving them additional info. The day of the appointment came, i sat around for 5 hours waiting for the technician during the appointed time slot. he never came. just decided to not show up at all. So i called them again, asking where the hell is the technician, and a manager on the phone told me "oh ill knock 5 dollars off and we'll reschedule again". At that point i just said screw it, cancel my account and refund me the money. and the manager had the balls to actually say "thats fine but only after you return the modem". do not go with these guys. they are terrible. read more

HORRIBLE SERVICE!!! AND A RUDE SUPERVISOR!!! TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE I had my service installed in early June, NEVER, got online, If you try and call and speak to someone it will take you upwards of an hour, no matter time of day or night, period! To be honest - for now 5*, BUT, for the start of service and New Customer support and protection - 0*. Total 2.5* (3*) I (as new Customer) called TechSavvy (TS) to order Internet service on 23-24 of December 2019 because I had service from one of TS providers for 5+ years with 28 down/1 up Mbps speed for the same price TS in December 2019 offered 75/10 Mbps and because I was tires, if any issues, to call THAT provider to ask to call to TS who would call Rogers to resolve the issue ... Pretty complicated, long and not right. Very good TS Customer service (second one, 1st was not OK), set everything as required, sent paperwork for rental Modem delivery and Rogers Tech for 27 DEC 2019. Just Great! Modem was sent from Chatham or so to deliver to our house (Thornhill) on 27 DEC (same day for Rogers Tech to check Cable line and change Filter from 28/1 to 75/10 Mbps for the same price for us !!! - just dream before NEW YEAR!) Modem was picked up by Canada Post (CP) and ... glued somewhere on the middle of nowhere and finally was delivered (instead of planned 27 DEC 2019) on 31 DEC 2019 NOT to my address but to local Post Office (I received email notification and picked up Modem from local Canada Post office). I checked my community mail box - nothing ... After receiving modem from CP Office found CP track dropping all mail to local community boxes - checked - LOL!!! They dropped me INSIDE community mail box Canada Post Note that they tried to deliver package and were not successful, "please pick up from local CP Office" (what I already did), Note was dated "yesterday" (30 DEC 2019), they dropped it in mailbox "today" on 31 DEC saying they were not successful "yesterday" (with 4 adults inside house for 24 HRs) ... Back to TS. Rogers Tech checked cable line and changed filter on 27 DEC - OK, I had internet using my old (but OK for up to 100 Mbps) modem from TS provider ... Day 1 internet speed was 27/1 (instead of 75/10 Mbps), Day 2 (28 DEC) Internet speed was 1-5/1 (instead of 75/10). On day 3 (29 DEC) my Internet service - GONE to "0" (probably because I ended my relations with previous ISP). I called TS for support ... long story, They asked me to wait until 01 JAN 2020 (from 29, 30, 31 DEC 2019 ...) for Rogers Tech to check the line again (they did it already on 27th!!!)... and "sorry we can do NOTHING AT ALL"... On 31 DEC 2019 after noon I received a call from TechSavvy asking "HOW WAS YOUR APPOINTMENT TODAY" and "you have internet now" - ONE days before scheduled Rogers Tech visit. 4 adults at home, 24 HRs, nobody called or knocked the entrance door, FRESH snow from "yesterday" still nice and not disturbed with ANY foot prints around Rogers Community street Internet box (I know which and where) and same for my Home Rogers box... - they did it FROM THE OFFICE and why they didn't want to do it earlier, when I called with "0" internet and ask for help? - This is the level of respect of your Customers ... TOO MANY complaints really now I can see in TS internet site ... Really painful. I was always under the impression that TS was one of The Best and different from 3 Big Ones, ... GOOD way different... Back to my Story . After receiving call that I "already have internet" (day before planned and 5 days I already PAID (27-31) but didn't have it and being changed for this perfect Internet service on 23/24 DEC (8 days before I finally got my Internet) ... + after installing new TS modem - I got 28/10 Mbps service I requested... Scheduled Rogers Tech for 01 JAN 2020 8-10am - ... didn't come . BUT ANOTHER one knocked our door on 02 JAN 2020 (!) at noon saying Rogers called him to check our Internet - nobody let us know about "NO visit on 01 JAN 2020" and "YES visit on 02 JAN 2020" - DISASTER!!! By the way - 02 JAN 2020 Rogers Tech was really very good, helped us a lot with several questions we had and helped to improve new rental TS Modem coverage. Thanks to that Person very MUCH! In Summary - I lost 2 Tax payments to CRA on the end of December 2019 trying to resolve my "No PAID Internet Service available from TechSavvy" issue. Both my kids, working from home (emails mostly + Internet sites of Companies they supporting, when required (information), using mostly cell phones, but needed to see WHAT they are talking with other people about - LOST their 30 and 31 December (2 days) work and salary. Our Home phone (VoIP) didn't work and we were NOT able to receive calls from people who wanted to talk with us with "Happy New Year". And many many more other issues. Thank you, TechSavvy, for your brilliant service and amazing support of your NEW Customer!!! Especially during Great Holidays Season! read more

TekSavvy was a great service provider when i signed with them. With the passage of time and with recommendations from a lot of IT Professionals like myself, they probably got so many customers that they cannot handle anymore. Their service is not reliable, and they have a pathetic support department. TekSavvy uses Rogers cable. Their service is down every now and then. Support: 1 hour phone wait time, then one hour with agent who will tells you to connect your modem directly to computer and tell them a few readings from cable modem. Without which (go to hell) meaning they will not register a complaint. Which is a nice way of reducing the complaints? So, if you have to be with them, you have two options. When service goes down, you can either wait for a few hours to let it come back to normal. Or be prepared to spend 2-3 hours with their tech support robots. They are not technical at all. An internet connection that was working fine, giving you 20Mbps just goes down all of sudden and they need to know what went wrong. Only way they can do that is by putting you in trouble for 2 hours and then forwarding the complaint to Rogers. It does not make sense to them that the service works fine after a few more hours of going down. Each time you have ot repeat the procedure. Good luck. read more

The service was not fast at all. I had 30 download and 10upload. I often was not able to stream netflix and upload was 1/3 as fast as stated. I decided to cancel 3 days prior to my bill date and I switched to a different provider. I get a letter 6 months later "This is a final notice. unless we hear from you in 30 days, we will have no choice but to turn your account over to a collection agency. We are sorry to take such drastic action." I think this is outrageous because I received no calls or emails about this (they state the opposite). The whole point of having a pre-paid service (imo) is that this isnt possible. On top of which you're also relying on Rogers or Bell to install and maintain any problems that occur. Terrrible and not recommended read more

I have been with Bell and Rogers for internet. Used to see many adds from TekSavvy so thought of going with them. However, it's a pathetic company. Regretting my decision and moving over to Rogers. Customer service is pathetic. At the time of connection: Teksavvy confirmed I can get a DSL connection. We paid for the service and waited for the guy to set up. When Bell guy came (the real provider is Bell - Teksavvy is like a sales agent), he told us that we can't get more than 5Mbps while Teksavvy had promised 30. We had to talk to Teksavvy and they said, the only other option they can give is to get cable (which is through Rogers). We had already waited for long for the DSL modem to be shipped. Now we had to wait for cable. Anyway, we went ahead. However, later we have found service to be pathetic. Technical issues: The company has many technical issues. Sometimes, you cannot reach them for hours or even days. If you have any issues you have to call technical support. If you are very lucky to connect, they cannot help you much other than walking you through normal trouble shooting. If it doesn't resolve the issue, they tell you that they have to pass on the info to the main provider (i.e. Rogers or Bell). If you ask about turn around time, they tell they cannot guarantee and that it could take up to 3 days. OMG. Can we survive without internet for that long? Not for social media purpose but actually to WORK! Most recent problem I had was sudden loss of internet. I did all the troubleshooting but nothing happened. I kept on calling Teksavvy but as usual could not connect on any of the phone numbers. Not only support line, even sales line wasn't dialable. I contacted Rogers but they would not serve me as: (1) I was Teksavvy's customer and (2) They can't access the modem as that's provided by Teksavvy. However, Rogers CSR was kind enough to confirm there was Roger's outage in the area. After hours of trying to connect, I approached Teksavvy through social media, i.e. Twitter. Initially at @TekSavvyCSR and later at @TekSavvyBuzz and @TekSavvyNetwork. However, no one responded to me. It's a nightmare to get Teksavvy. I recommend everyone to stay away! read more

Teksavvy was recommended by a friend who's been happy with them for a long time. I tried out their 6MBS Internet and it was always as fast as it was supposed to be. I cancelled because I wanted to get a higher speed and Shaw was offering a price not that much more for a higher speed than teksavvy had at the time. Shaw's speed has turned out to be significantly less than advertised but it's fast enough for me currently, and the modem rental is free, where with teksavvy I had to buy their modem. However, teksavvy has my trust for delivering the speed advertised, reimbursing me for the portion of the month I paid for but only used a week or so of, reimbursing me for nearly the full price of the modem, plus, because they forgot to charge me tax for my initial payment, they waived it for me, accepting full responsibility. I definitely recommend teksavvy. I hope they get higher speeds to compete with telus, Shaw and rogers. When my 2 year contract with shaw is over, I'll be checking what teksavvy's offering. That's another plus for teksavvy; no penalties for cancelling service, whereas I'd be paying heavily if I were to cancel before the two years with shaw. A plus for shaw is they required no advance payment and it was installed the same day I signed up. With teksavvy I had to wait about a week for the technician and the shipped modem. Shaw brought their modem. No waiting without Internet or having to track a package at the post office. When my contract with shaw is nearing its end I'll probably set up an appointment with teksavvy because they reimbursed me fully for the time I didn't use (though I had to pay Canada post $30 to send the modem back to teksavvy), and promptly, and didn't penalize me for canceling. Teksavvy, see you in two years when I'm free again. I'll probably sign up just because I like the honesty and freedom from penalties. Please get faster Internet speed if you can, and if you can't, I'll try to be happy with the admittedly adequate speeds you now offer (25 mbps). Oh, I nearly forgot to mention, teksavvy was charging me $12 a month for a "dry loop", because I had no landline. My friend isn't charged for this. I assume it's because he has a landline. Shaw doesn't charge a dry loop fee. I'm not sure I'll sign up with teksavvy in two years but if they have a deal that offers a terabyte per month that is priced fairly I'll try to swallow my greed for speed and vote for honest advertising and freedom to cancel without hefty penalties. Thank you teksavvy for leaving a good taste in my mouth. *Julia isn't my real name. read more

Read the other reviews on here and observe the large number of useful responses on negative reviews and the small number on the positive reviews. That's a clue to the service you will get with this company. Techsavvy used to have a good reputation but have squandered it over the past few years due to over-priced installations, and atrocious support. Here is my story with these clowns. I was originally supposed to receive a modem/ router combo. They sent me the package and double charged me for shipping (1 for router and 1 for modem, though they are together- one unit in one box). Was also charged for having this unit and never refunded. Tech was originally supposed to come Jan 3rd. Drove an hour from another city to meet tech, who never showed up the entire day. When calling, tech said it was our fault and the date was the 2nd (checked email and confirmed it was the 3rd). Rescheduled to the 8th. Tech called the night of the 7th and said they had to postpone. Did not get service until Jan 18th. A new unit was shipped to me, but only included the modem and I was then told I would need to purchase a router. Bought a router, and immediately experienced issues. When calling customer support, they told me they cannot help because it could be the router and that isn't their problem. I said I wanted credit for all the issues experienced and loss of income (I require internet access for my job). They were originally going to charge me for all of January even though they didn't come until the 18th. After a long hassle, I got them to waive the overly-priced activation fee and got a month and a half worth of credit. Was a pain but I was satisfied with that. Over the next 3 weeks I received 5 invoices adding up to around $300 for the few weeks of terrible internet service I had. When emailing to address this issue, I received a response saying I was getting more than I deserved with the 1.5 months credit, even though I was being charged around double the amount I should have been normally, after the credit was issued. The reply also said tech savvy is for recreational purposes and they are not responsible for lost wages. I'm in the hole hundreds of dollars (and that doesn't include the couple grand in lost wages) for internet I've barely used. Customer support is arrogant and incompetent. Save yourself the time, money and frustration and go with another company. read more

First time yelp reviewer, just wanted to share my experience with TekSavvy. Have been on TekSavvy for a year now, and I have no complaints. I pay $45/month for 30 down/5 up cable. That's in comparison to shaw at $75/month for the same thing. That's $360 difference for this year. Minus the modem purchase for $100, and the $60 set up fee, ends up being $200 savings. Still a good savings, but this also means that every year from now on I'll be saving $360/year. Another cool thing is TekSavvy gives unlimited bandwidth between 2am and 8am. So for anything that isn't time sensitive, I use a download program to delay the downloads until 3am when I'm sleeping. Or for a very reasonable $5/month you can just get unlimited bandwidth 24/7(Which I just signed up to because my wife likes her netflix). I did have a few service outages over a period of about a month, but a little investigation showed that it was an issue with the Shaw network and Shaw eventually got their issues cleared up and haven't had an issue since then. One issue some people complain about is they amount of time it takes to get you set up. That is definitely an issue, but if you're organized and have everything booked in advance it's not usually a problem. If you want to wait till the last minute, and expect them to come set you up the next day, good luck. I'm pretty sure the guy that comes to set you up is a shaw guy, and if so, they're not going to be pushing TekSavvy clients to the front of the list. Besides, I've spent plenty of time waiting as both a Shaw and Telus client as well. TekSavvy is a smaller independent company, which the Canadian government has forced the big players (Shaw/Telus) to allow to use their networks. The big players are currently trying to raise costs to dissuade people from internet media by imposing large bandwidth costs and restrictions, and drive us back towards cable packages. These smaller companies are the only ones giving us a fair option since they aren't trying to push overpriced cable bundles at us. Anyway, I'm getting great customer service, great internet service, am saving $360/year, and am supporting smaller company that are one of the only things keeping the big players honest. I'm very happy. read more

Ok Guys! Here is my Tragic Story. Got this Service after seeing all the good things they say on their ADS.. Fantastic ADS BUT THE WAY, but after all this company is a rip off place and & a place to steal from the people that have good faith and believe on a new way of doing business in this Town. I sign up, Happy enough to believed I was getting a good deal. They first ask me for my credit card, because they are not stupid, they services are so dam bad that they know if they do not charge up front NO BODY, NO BODY Will pay for this Crappy Service. Then they get you set up, Monthly fee $30 dollars, $5 Dollars Stupid fee I not even understand ( I guess, lets call it Rip off fee) Then they get you a technician be careful: they do not have time frame.. they said From 8am to 9pm Time and you can not scheduled anything Why? Let me tell you something... if you a working person you do not have that time to waste for a couple o dudes to come and plug some stupid cables... They design this so you miss it and then you have to pay extra 50 bucks so they can come back after they coffe brake, pretty smart isn't it! Then The shipping FEE... After I buy their modem that is pass 130 dollars!!!! they should give free shipping come on!!! After the Technician if we can call them that way, because they do not have any dam clue what are they doing BOOM No Service!!! (AMAGIN ISNT IT) Well, let's say I can see the sign on the wirless but is just about it, not loading pages, not even my temporals- Frustrating- and then Call again to customer service. The Agent Said: Mr..... I see the problem, but we have to send you somebody again to have a look at it and is an extra 87 dollars to double check ( GREAT WAY OF OF STEALING FROM NEW CLIENTS) leaving me no option to Cut right on the spot this scam !!! No way I got this service a day ago and the second day I returned, THIS TAKESAVVY IS PURE AND DENSE B.S!!! STOP WASTING PEOPLE TIME AND MONEY, BUNCH OF SCAMMERS!!!!! read more

Hi I have been with Teksavvy over 5 years and love the service. I get the speed I pay for all the time (even evenings). Have cable internet - now 60 down - was 40 down. I moved last fall and switched my Teksavvy over and the only problem I had was with the installation was due to Cogeco not showing up when they were suppose to. Cogeco claimed they had the wrong apartment in the condo building. Teksavvvy tried to help by contacting Cegoco and trying to push them. They even called after the revised install date to confirm I had phone and internet. I phoned them several months ago and upped my cable speed from 40 to 60 and it took about 45 minutes to get through. Call them late after 10 pm and the wait time seems to be better. The revised speed was working within 15 minutes. Their service at least on cable is second to none. I provided my own modem and router. I hate the all in ones and got at Motorola SB 6141 cheaper locally. I also have a DLink router and also run their IP unlimited phone on the system. I live in Muskoka and my boyfriend was calling me from a payphone in TO as a local call. The problem with switching from Rogers or Bell is you have to buy another modem or you run into problems as Rogers and Bell have to take you off their database before you can use it. You also sometimes have to deal with Rogers or Bell or Cogeco installers and they consider Teksavvy at the bottom of the rung and do it last. When I switched from Rogers 5 years ago, I returned the modem to Rogers at night and the internet and regular phone was up and running the next day when I got home from work. Conclusion: Service is great but you could run into problems due to the other companies installers. In the long run well worth the upfront cost and hassles. read more

I have it hooked up yesterday. The setup process was reasonably smooth, partly because I had rogers many years ago, so the cable was already set up and all. The technician came in, made sure the signal was still on-----which it was, and out of my house in 2 minutes after helping me hook up the modem. So there it is, a cable with signal and a modem working perfectly fine, EXCEPT: NO INTERNET ACCESS!!! For the next half an hour or so, I was trying to figure out what was happening by checking every connection port, read through every line of the manual, rebooting the modem, etc. Nothing seemed to be working. So I had a phone call to their tech support and was put on hold. The tech support hotline had an extremely long holding time. I was on it for about 45 minutes without anyone answering. So I hook my computer back to my old Bell modem (I deliberately have the set up date overlap with my old service for three days, in case anything unpleasant happens), trying to open an online ticket, then something magically happened------The modem rebooted itself and then, viola! I had internet access. Yay! Immediately I did a speed test, it shows I only have slightly over 2Mbp of downloading speed. I paid for a cable30 service, which in theory, should give me 30Mbp of downloading speed!!!! I know it is probably naive to expect it to be as fast as it has promised, but 2 Mbp???? Come on, you gotta be kidding... I am planning on to give it a few days to sort of "warm up", but if it remains like this, they will have to deal with a very angry new customer. All in all, I'd way the Teksavvy statement: different in a good way, might be at least, partially true. However, as an ISP, given the market condition in Canada, some things just would never change. read more

Teksavvy sales order person was very kind and helpful. I ordered the 5Mps internet cable (including Hitron CDA3 modem). I received the modem 4 days after my order. The Teksavvy lady that was looking after my order told me technicians would come and install the internet a week after my order at the time I preferred (6-8pm). (The technicians are Rogers technicians and not Teksavvy. Teksavvy and other independent ISPs use Rogers and Bell technicians to do in person technical work on behalf of them.) The technicians didn't show up at the time I was told they were going to come. Then the lady apologized and said that she had emailed Roger's. So We scheduled another day at the same time frame. The technicians didn't show up again. Then a Roger's dispatcher calls me and tells me the technicians didn't show up because they had a flat tire. Which I figure then it was BS. The technicians were just too lazy to do work at that time. Then the Teksavvy lady apologized again and we scheduled for a day time (10-12 am ) for another day. The technicians then showed up and installed everything. My internet works great now. 5Mps is fast enough for me because I live by myself. I had great experience with Teksavvy when I was living at my parent's place and that is why I chose them when I moved out. So in conclusion, Teksavvy is the best ever. Its even cheaper than Start and other independents if you compare the prices. Start doesn't even offer the lower than 15Mps in my area at least. When you are ordering Teksavvy, chose day time hours as your preferred installation time. Rogers is garbage. The only problem I had installing my internet was because of Rogers. Teksavvy was great in all of this and I am now enjoying my internet. read more

I have been using Teksavvy for almost 2 years and have no complaints. I have never had to wait on hold and the one issue I had, they managed to get a tech to my unit the next day. All the complaints typically come down to one thing, they are at the whims of the ISP they rent the lines from. When scheduling a service appointment, TS customers are at the bottom of the list from the other ISP. When dealing with system issues, the ISP forces them to fill out excessively long and convoluted ticket forms and have to wait for a response before they can relay the info back to the customer. I have had a couple conversations with TS reps, they are perfectly willing to tell you what's up. I wanted to have my bandwidth increased and the rep told me I might need a tech from the other ISP come by run "a test" before upping my bandwidth. He said they often times request this. I said that was odd, and he said he knows but it is something the ISP requests (clearly to cause inconvenience to the customer). Most ISPs make it very hard for resellers to do business. The ONLY reason why internet is becoming more affordable ) is because resellers exist. Local ISPs constantly send me ads with "introductory" pricing with the sheer intent of luring me away from resellers. People don't understand that as soon as these resellers go out of business due to all of their customers being drawn away, prices will go back up. I will happily pay a little more than some "introductory/temporary" savings to make sure there is actual competition in the market. read more
I made a huge mistake switching to Teksavvy. I had heard great things about the company, yet from the get-go I have had issues with this company. 1) They kept messing up my order and they were one month late in setting up my internet. I gave them my full address and I kept getting e-mails stating, "your order cannot be processed. Please contact us immediately." It turns out that they did not make a note of my apartment number the 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th time. In total, I gave them my apartment number 4 TIMES! How difficult is it to make a note of an apartment number, specially when I gave this information to 4 reps! Ridiculous! 2) Internet stopped working on day 5! 3) I am on hold. I have been wanting to have my internet fixed for a week now. I have been on hold for 47 minutes! I tried their chat option, but there are no reps available there either. Huge mistake switching to this company!! I wish I hadn't. **Update: It has been almost 2 weeks and still no internet, or callback or any type of follow-up. I get that it is a busy time for Teksavvy but how is it acceptable that I have waited on hold for over 4 hours in 3 days, and even writing on their blog about my concerns has not elicited a response? What have I tried so far: Requested a callback twice, sent 2 e-mails, called and waited on hold for over 45 minutes each time (over 4 hours so far), wrote on Teksavvy blog about my lack of service. Response? Nothing. read more

Their staff are friendly and likeable. Unfortunately all of their services rely on bell or rogers technicians to service their lines. So you are pretty much out of luck if you have any issue at all. Which you will. I tried to upgrade my DSL speed with teksavvy. After a week, they sent a bell technician who put the line out of service (no internet) . I spent a week on the phone, and spoke to pretty much every customer service rep in their chatham office. Each of them made me go through the same process of resetting the modem (about 15 times). After that, they finally sent out another bell tech. This bell tech cancelled his appointment on me, because it was too close to the end of his shift. They then rescheduled the appointment again. The bell tech failed to show for the rescheduled appointment. I'd conservatively estimate I spent around 12-14 hours of phone calls and missed appointments to come to no real solution. I cancelled and signed up with Rogers. It's more expensive but at least I have internet. After cancelling, I received an email from teksavvy requesting that I return the modem that I purchased (about $120) from them, or be charged for it. I had to call in and have them confirm that I had purchased the modem. The rep mentioned I would not be charged and they made a mistake, but I'm not holding my breath. Anticipating having to dispute it once they charge my card anyway. BOTTOM LINE AVOID AT ALL COSTS read more

TECK SAVVY SERVICE SUCKS !!!!!! They don't send out technicians to fix problems with wifi box. Instead I have to call in monthly and trouble shoot for an hour to get my internet back up !!! They say wait times and have you wait on hold for hours later than the time stated by their automated message! I was just told I would be on hold for 15 minutes yet I have been on hold for an hour ! The message continues to say I will be on hold for 15 min. And just now has gone up to 30 min.... EDIT : call wait time went up to 30 min and then went up to an hour !!! After waiting on hold for two hours someone picked up and didn't say anything and hung up on me !!! My service just completely turned off and the bill was just paid two weeks ago !!! They have a message saying their services are completely shut down !!! I'm so pissed off right now and I will be cancelling and changing my service provider !!!! They have the WORST SERVICE!!!! AND MAKE YOU PAY FOR THE INTERNET BOX ! Unlike other companies!!! Oh and they will also completely cut your service off if your late on a payment !!!!!! I was past due 56$ a few months back and they turned off my internet and wouldn't turn it back on until I paid then one month past due by three weeks which was on 56$ !! Don't waist your time or money !! read more

I am living in the Markham area and have switch from Rogers to Teksavvy's Cable 30 Lite for over 8 months now and the internet service is as smooth as before (which shows that Roger's cables are fine) but the speed and price is far more desirable. I bought the most basic Thomson Cable modem from NCIX before applying for their service -- you will need the code from a modem before they could activate your service, that means ordering from them or get one yourself. It turned out that buying one from NCIX is no cheaper than ordering from them. So unless you have one from your previous ISP it would be simpler to order it from Teksavvy. There is really not much to do to activate the service. Very straightforward and uneventful. As I've never had any problem with the internet connection so far, I cannot comment on their customer service. But my question about the modem before using their service got answered effectively. I also like their detailed and up-to-date usage report. (Roger's one is awful by comparison and I got over my usage limit twice unexpectedly, and without warnings...) The internet speed tested through CIRA.ca is about what's been promised (up/down: 5/28Mbps instead of the 'up to' 5/30Mbps advertised.) Not much to complain about so far! read more

I have been with Teksavvy for 4 years. Never had any issues at all. My monthly bill for the same service has only gone down since I signed up which I've never heard of! Recently my kids have their own devices so there are more demands on my Wi-Fi. Started to have trouble with the WiFi only dropping. Called Teksavvy support to figure out why. They could not have been more friendly and helpful. I'm not very good with electronic stuff but they were determined to help me. Modem just needed an update, and they walked me through it all the way with tons of encouragement, and even dumbed down the terms for me. I called them later to find out the problem was with my router which is not their piece of tech. They didn't tell me it's not their problem. In stead, they vowed to research my router and figure out the best possible solution to get me back and running. It took some time to get me back on line, but they kept encouraging me and saying they won't give up until we get it right! We did, eventually, and my internet is BLAZING fast now. I could not say enough about this company and their support employees who bend over backwards to help. Great internet from a company that actually seems to care about their customers! My hat is off to these guys! read more

Hi.. I had TekSavvy but cancelled after the first month. I had DSL and was supposed to be getting 15mbps download & 10mbps upload. Their customer service was great (until I said I wanted to cancel) but they never fixed any of the problems for the long run... I was somtimes getting close to the "up to 15mbps" i was paying for but frequently I would experience speeds of 1-3.5 mbps download. Brutal. They tried to blame it on my router but I tried it at a friend's place (in the same building as me) that had bell DSL and it worked like a charm for the whole damn day... Needless to say I switched to Virgin "Steve" internet and am not looking back. I've consistently been getting the full speed that I'm paying for! Highly recommended. And they two have awesome customer service. 2/5 stars as I've defintley had better. I thought it might have been because DSL was crappier than cable or something as I've always had cable in past places I've lived for the past 3 years but I never had a problem with Bell or Rogers cable back then.....Looks like TekSavvy gets the shitter part of the Bell network or something! Also 2 stars because the internet did still work it was just very slow and I felt ripped off... read more

Montreal QC, New house in Canada. I called them to order their DSL internet. We Firstly took a date in 4 or 5 days for the Bell electrician to pass make the change. It is mandatory. They asked me my credit card number and told me that there was no other way to pay. Then, before we concluded a deal, suddently, the date in 4-5 days we took won't be available for a technician to pass, they said. At that time the visa credit card is already charged and the electrician date is not even taken). I then asked to take a rendez-vous with a technician on weekends only and that brings me to many months of waiting. I work 12 hours a day from monday to friday most of the time. Too long for me. I said, I cancel everything and want a refund. They said they will refund me. I checked the visa status 1 week later, they did refunded me. Important: If your only availability is on weekends only, know that you could wait 2 to 6 months for a mandatory electrician to pass, so that you do not call them and loses their time. This way everything is clear, and it is probably a wonderful company when you get their services. read more

Finally decided to leave Rogers. Rogers: Express Cable - $48.99/month Modem Rental - $7/month 18M Down 514K Up 80Gb Usage (CONTRACT) I could never get more than 15M, download was always slow. Customer service was crap. Always gave me answers that wouldn't solve the issue. I requested to get a new modem from them because mine wasn't working that well but they said I needed to upgrade to a more expensive plan or else I will have to buy it at full price. Had enough so I changed to teksavvy. Teksavvy: Express Cable - $39.99/month Modem Rental - NONE ($65 Dollars For Purchase) 18M Down 514K Up 300Gb Usage (NO CONTRACT) It was really simple. Went over to the store to save $10 on shipping which was mandatory on the website. The gentlemen there made it so that I would get internet the day I disconnected from Rogers. I didn't have any downtime or what so ever. I also got another $10 OFF the modem they were selling. Would suggest to people if you are changing from ROGERS or BELL to get cancellation date then going to the store as soon as possible so they can help you make everything seemless. read more

We have been using Teksavvy for 3 years, and have recommended it to many people. They are reliable and fast, and they don't throttle like Rogers does. The price is great too! There are three very heavy users in our household, and we pay $47 including tax per month. Mr. J's complaints are actually things that are done by Rogers. Since Rogers has to send someone out to physically connect the cable (or Bell in the case of DSL) they drag their feet on it to frustrate customers of their competitors. Rogers also does billing and collections for anyone who is selling cable internet, so they try to frustrate you there too. However, once you're connected, the service runs smoothly and on the odd occasion there is a problem, I have had great success with Teksavvy's support via phone and e-mail. They respond to me quickly and make every effort to get things working right. I recommend buying your own modem from Canada Computers, as they don't cost much and you can get the same model modem there that Teksavvy would sell or rent to you. Then you don't have to deal with shipping. read more

I had Teksavvy internet service in Abbotsford, BC, in 2016 and then moved. When I returned to Abbotsford in 2017, I was able to use Teksavvy again. Unfortunately, there was a connection issue and no internet signal was being detected. Their customer service rep Les was really good about following up with me and when the connection issue was resolved through Shaw Cable, Teksavvy gave me a credit for the 2 weeks I paid for that I was not able to use. I have always had reliable service from them in the roughly 2 years I have been an on again/off again customer. My only complaint with the company so far is that on the two intial occasions I had to call them to restart my service and to resolved the connection issue I had 40 minute and 60 minute waits. However, once I spoke to them I was put on direct access and was able to call and speak to their customer service people immediately. As an added bonus for the same price I paid last year I now get unlimited downloads and had a cheaper connection fee! So after all that I would still recommend them. read more

Our family has been facing serious internet connection issues with Tek Savvy for more than 5 months now! We attempted to switch from wifi connect to cable internet, but it has never worked properly, and as a result, we have had to PAY for both services for 4 months now!! We have called multiple times to report ongoing (DAILY) outage issues (March 2020, April 2020, June 2020 and recently a few weeks ago) on both sources of internet connection, but have had no real solutions provided by customer services (just simply "unplug and try again"). We have now had our modem replaced, and it is STILL NOT FUNCTIONING PROPERLY! During this COVID-19 context when we are operating work out of our home, these services is imperative, and continually falling short! Daily, the internet has a long portion of outage (usually 2 - 3 hours) where both connections do not work (both plug-in and wifi). We are anxious for the company to come up with an actual solution, before continuing to rip us off and to provide extremely sub-par services. read more

This company's service is abysmal and totally disappointing. From the moment I attempted to cancel my subscription, I encountered sheer incompetence. Their representative abruptly hung up on me as soon as I mentioned my intention to cancel. When I needed a simple relocation of services within the same building, it took them 10 days to respond, despite a lengthy one-hour phone call to explain the straightforward move. To make matters worse, they initially agreed to change the cable, only to backtrack via email and abruptly terminate my portal, containing all my vital information and billing details. Upon calling them again to ensure the cancellation of my subscription, the agent abruptly ended the call while I was still seeking clarification. It's uncertain whether my subscription was actually canceled. In all my experiences with service providers in Canada, this has been by far the worst. Their lack of professionalism and disregard for customer satisfaction are utterly unacceptable. read more
