Just outside you can walk to the ferry, or order taxis and ride shares. There is a ticket kiosk and atm inside if needed.

I arrived at Oriente Train Station via the metro/underground to catch a train. Once you exit the…read moremetro/underground, the signage to enter Oriente is pretty poor, so look for very small train icons pointing with arrows. You essentially have to go up about three levels to get to Oriente. Once there, there are ticket machines and a ticket booth. Although I had tickets already, I had a question and the gentleman was very nice and informative (he spoke limited English). I recommend waiting in the main concurse (open air) rather than going to the platform. Whiles there's a canopy over the tracks, it can be quite bright and there's not a lot of room to sit. Another advantage of waiting on the main concourse is there's a little cafe and vending machines. The cafe has a few tables and sells drinks, coffee, sandwiches, and desserts. The cafe only accepts cash. Be ready to deal with an attendant who could be friendlier. Overall, decent train station but it needs better signage, as it lacks a large screen with all upcoming arrivals and departures. You also can't hear announcements very well. Pro Tip: If you want to grab drinks and food for the train, there's a supermarket inside the mall across the street.

This is a very old station and comes with that some challenges, such as escalators and elevators that do not work, poor signage, kiosks out of order, very grimy restrooms, and uneven stone flooring that makes rolling bags or heels challenging (and loud :-)). The signage and placement of the only available help desk at one far end was a bit challenging. We did love the roof architecture on the top level as you wait for your train to arrive.

Tuk tuk drivers will sell you a more personal experience for $60 but I think waiting an hour and boarding the tram is the way to go. Expect to get up for the elderly if you sit in the front. He had the most nicely painted tuk tuk, he spoke courteously and informatively with us, and he drove us to all of the best sites. My husband and I had so much fun riding around the old, charming cobblestone streets of Lisbon and seeing churches, monuments, stores, artwork, stairs where Madonna sat, the oldest house in Lisbon, a park with city views, and much more. This tuk tuk ride was one of our favorite experiences in our entire 10-day vacation, and we highly recommend it.

It is completely separate from the train station…read more Located in between the actual Rossio Square and Praça da Figueira, Rossio is located on the Green line of the Lisbon metro. The station is handicapped accessible with escalators and elevators between the street level and the platform level. The station has two tracks that go through the center and therefore, there are two side platforms. There is step-free access and free transfer between the two platforms. If there is a below-ground transfer to the Estação do Rossio for regional trains, I couldn't find it. Upstairs to the street, walk across the plaza, into the station. Platforms are clean and there is a sign indicating how long until the next train is due to arrive. Rossio is between Martim Moniz (toward Telheiras) and Baixa-Chiado (toward Cais do Sodré). There are ticketing kiosks which is useful because my 24 hour pass from the Lisbon network didn't work here. Cheap enough for an 8 minute ride - less than €2 each way. They have clearly visible signs showing not only how long until the next ferry departs but also what percent full it is. Helpful info! There is a small convenience store and some other retail. The station was under major renovations when I was here in January 2022. Easy connection to the trams and buses which took me most of the way to the Christ statue. I returned with a walk along the waterfront after dinner at Ponto Final and that five star review is coming soon. Inside the waiting area, some seating and some vending machines. The "boarding" sound goes and everyone starts moving for the ferry. It's an easy walk for a shop that does this a dozen times a day back and forth across the river. Overall, as pleasant an experience as one can have on mass transit.

Inside the terminal in Casilhas we bought one way tickets and they were €1.30 per person. The trip across the river was fast and smooth, a perfect ending to our day of walking in Cascais and visiting the Cristo Rei statue.
