The customer service is WOW I loved how they offered a military discount, it's nice when I don't have to awkwardly ask. I also forgot this is a military town so that makes a difference I'm a vet. I asked for a recommendation and she nailed it! Had a couple good experiences in Telegraph previously but today was horrible. We ordered 3 drinks, 2 blended and one hot. After about 15 minutes they finally got us the 2 blended drinks, both of which were incorrectly made. We told her about one and asked her to remake it and decided to not worry about the other wrong one. 10 minutes later we still only had one of the 3 drinks so we asked what was going on with our order as people that came in after us had already been served. The girl that took our order and had incorrectly made them and was now serving a guy beer and noone was dealing with our other 2 drinks. We were told it was that girls first day. She was trying hard and not getting much help from the rest of the staff. One of those staff members was making bloody Mary's for some customers, she did not look clean and had bare hands all over the bacon in the bloody Mary's. She had a bad attitude towards the people who ordered the bloody Mary's, then came over and started inserting herself and her snotbag attitude in our situation. My wife was politely explaining why she ordered sugar free to the new barista, and the risk of serving a drink full of sugar to a diabetic person. My wife wasn't yelling or anything. She wasn't mad. Just being blunt about the dangers, saying "I'm not yelling or anything ". The worker with the bad attitude says "well yeah you kind of are" to my wife. Then another worker jumps in and says "yeah you're being aggressive". At that point my wife did raise her voice and started becoming irritated about the fact she was just trying to express the dangers of serving a diabetic a drink full of sugar and we had been waiting for about 30 minutes at that point. So my wife walked out of the place crying. my wife has some brain trauma and this mistreatment by the Telegraph staff was pretty devastating to her. At that point I walked out too. I came back in and demanded a refund. The bloody Mary girl tried to tell me that noooe could give a refund but the manager, yet another girl came and started working on refund. At which point the bloody Mary girl told the other girl not to refund one of the drinks because my wife drank part of it and took it out the door. I said nope that one was made incorrectly too but we weren't even going to say anything at first. Never setting foot back in here again. I felt bad for the new girl and hope she learned something out of all this. read more

Thankfully I don't live in Fallon or I'd be broke. Or I'd have to work here. We have a tuned in, fancy coffee set up at home and have a tough time finding epic coffee while traveling. Let me tell you...the milk frothing here is so marshmallowy I want to go back NOW. Went there all three days we were in town. Even tried another local spot (yes, we drink too much coffee) and it wasn't as good. Oh and they SOMETIMES have an apple puffed pastry thing that they can heat up for you. Paired with the Carmellllllalala or whatever caramel latte thing I ordered...heaven. This place has made my google maps favorites. I shall return. read more

Amazing coffee! Telegraph carries their own beans, named after local gems, and have excellent lattes with various milk options-including cow's milk from a local dairy, oat milk, and coconut milk. Been here a number of times now, always a treat! Great happy hour prices from 4-7. They do mixed drinks as well as beer from the tap or cooler. Bloodies are bomb! All the trimmings. The other part of this place is the coffee. Always a good cup'o Jo. Multiple options for how you like it and at great prices. They also have a drive through which is convenient if you wanna stay in the car. One other treat they have are Feisty Redbulls for anyone who might prefer this over coffee. There are roughly a dozen flavors you can get, and it's over ice with a shot of whip cream on top. Trust me, they're amazing, recommend the coconut! This is my goto place to chill on my laptop with a coffee or beer to just get stuff done. It's pretty much the only coffee shop in Fallon that has everything a coffee-shop-fly needs like good hours of operation, fast wifi, and power outlets. They will have events some nights of the week like a band or an open mic so keep that in mind and call them to verify if something is happening just in case you only want ambient coffee shop noise in the evening. I like how there's an upright piano, a pool table, artwork on the walls, and a jukebox. Seems like people come here to watch sports games on 1 of their 2 small flat screens. PBR's on tap are $2! I'm pretty thankful this place exists in this small town. read more

I am a coffee shop guru. Everywhere I go I look for free Wi-Fi, local, handmade espresso,comfortable setting and a light healthy lunch. I am only partly impressed with this place and am disappointed that this is the only shop in town. The seating is just very used uncomfortable lawn chairs, the music was fit for a bad bar scene, the muffins looked like they were bought from Wal-mart, the tea selection was very poor and among the Celestial Seasonings kind (if I buy a $2 tea, I want it to be something I can't get for an 1/8 of the price at the grocery) and the selection of pastries was minimal. The plus was the free Wi-Fi, the warm temperature on a cold day, and the barista humored me on making a custom drink that she undercharged me for. I'll go back, but only because I don't want to drive to Reno every time I want a coffee. Overall, I'd call it a hick coffee shop where people can watch the Price is Right with their fellow cowboys, drink coffee next to a jukebox and have a burger. I have only been there for coffee, the dirty hippie hot and iced is delicious! Super friendly staff. They give a military discount which is nice, but even without a discount it's so worth it! I'm from Santa Cruz, CA and I felt right at home walking into this place. Baristas are super friendly and the house coffee is fantastic. I don't order the fancy stuff but it was all up there on the board including the "Dirty Hippie" (dirty chai) which I found laugh out loud funny. Did I mention they have some great beers on tap also? 805, Fresh squeeze, etc. Great place right down to the "I love America" coffee stops - Not sure if this place is a tongue-in-cheek california experience but I loved it. When I came in this coffee shop it smelled like straight up feces. I first came up to the counter and I see the both baristas flirting with each other. The old folks are loud and the profanity level was too high. The male barista was loud as well. The latte was alright. The wifi and the service was also good. I know the baristas can show way better customer satisfaction. I came to the conclusion that this cafe is a bar not a classy cafe. If you don't like country music and too much profanity don't go here. read more

Love Telegraph. I really appreciate the new atmosphere. Makes you feel like you're in a totally different city. Definitely somewhere I could cozy up, drink good coffee, and read a good book. I tried their Linzy specialty drink which is Apple chai, apple juice, and caramel and I was blown away. So yummy!! Tasted like eating an apple pie. I give many of the employees all five stars for what they do. I enjoy coming to The Daily Grind when I know who is working so I know I will get a decent conversation, good pour and some laughs. I am a frequent flyer... I have been coming to this coffee joint for YEARS! We are talking since about 2002. My last experience was horrible. I was poured old vinegary wine and topped off with a new bottle, which was not even a full glass. Their wine selection is way off base. If all you have to offer for a good wine is Hahn and nothing else then you need to reevaluate your choices. Lets me not forget to mention the $7.00 bucks I paid for a "glass" of Bogle that I can buy a bottle at Safeway for 10 dollars. I can swallow a bad pour, shitty wine and high prices is the service is amazing... but I guess when you are the owner there is no need to give great service. I felt like I was burdening the poor guy for some wine and water. If you are working at a bar, coffee shop or in the public please act like you enjoy your job and smile. Make sure you check out who is working before you venture into this business. Vanessa and Natalie are the two of the gals that I know that give great service ALL of the time. And Jim is fantastic and keeps me coming back for everything you expect in a bartender. If you are looking for great wine...go somewhere else. They don't even have good crap wine. If you are looking for conversation and a friendly bartender...make sure you know who is working. This place could be an amazing staple in Fallon...I wish they would actually try to make it what it could be. read more

I didn't order an espresso-based drink on this motorcycle trip across highway 50, but I have on other visits and have found them to be quite decent (and I'm from Seattle!) On this visit we bought Bawls and tall glasses of soda water from the very friendly barista and spent a lovely hour escaping the heat. I listened to a baseball scout talk up a centerfielder ("He's built solid. He's confident.") and to a couple of locals talk about the problem with ordering online sleep aids. Good chai with a shot. Friendly service. It has a drive-through if you like. Don't expect a stylish, hipster-friendly hangout. Inside, it's a funky, dimly-lit place with a pool table in the back. In spite of the dimness, it's clean. Bathrooms well-maintained. We were there in the day, just passing through Fallon; I bet it's a different vibe at night when the live bands come in. Went into this place, the decor is really cool and interesting. There was a sign that says they have a live band, also a pool table in the back. The drinks were good, we got a chai and a mocha. Service was slower but it was morning so to be expected since busy. The customer service wasn't that great at all. We weren't greeted when we walked in and they just stared at us while making drinks. It would have been nice to at least be acknowledge with a hi and a smile. read more

There's NO SELF-SERVE cream or sugar, so the young girl that got me my coffee LOADED sugar into my drink. One sip, and I poured it down a drain. Nice, cozy coffee shop in the small town of Fallon, NV. This place seems to be following coffee shops that I have visited back in FL, that being part coffee shop and part bar. The iced coffee hits the spot, and the decor is very nice and clean. Service was great. Anyone who reads my reviews know that I have a bias for locally owned coffee shops. But that being said, this is a really good shop, and I am glad to see that this town in the middle of the desert has this establishment. Check it out! read more

You know what, I have been frequenting the Jive N Java and later The Daily Grind for about four years now and I think that many of these bad reviews are waaaaay off base. If you come across an issue in ANY public establishment and you have some sort of issue that you feel needs to be addressed....... ADRESS IT IMMEDIATELY! I know all of the present and past staff and they are always happy to accomodate when something isn't right. There is self-serve cream and sugar at the tea cart. You ought to know how many scoops of sugar you like in your coffee by now but if you feel unsure, then why not ask the barista to put them in one-at-a-time until it suits you..... And yes I know they will all do that for you. If you want a 16 or 20 ounce drink that has a stronger coffee flavor to it you have to spring for extra shots of espresso. It's not really rocket science here, the bigger the drink, the more diluted the espresso becomes. as far as the quality of the bean, I see nothing wrong with them and I like the flavor. This is something that is totally subjective so I feel there is no point to arguing. Everyone knows the best, 5 star coffee shops in the world are in Italy (Where I used to live) so that's my reason for the four star review. Cowboys and Hicks??????? It seems to me that you have many more deeply rooted issues than a coffee shop. People of character don't run around unfairly labeling others without first getting to know them. Shame on you for that. I am a musician in a couple of fairly notable local bands and I can tell you that sure, some bands are better than others but I assure you that every single one of them is up there giving 100% when they are playing. I absolutely love the place, and it's partly because it's not overflowing with a bunch of snobby people who think they are better than everyone else. Part of the problem in the world today is that people lack the intestinal fortitude to open their mouth and say something when there's a problem. In stead, they go around putting out bad press and talking trash behind people's backs. Be a part of the solution -vs- part of the problem.
