Recently stopped in on a Saturday and I'm not sure if it was an off day or something but the food has been much better on previous visits. I had the fish tacos and my fish was way over fried, the chipotle sauce was a smidge too spicy considering how much was on there, and the greens they topped it with took up most of the taco! When I think of fish tacos I think of something light and refreshing and this wasn't that at all. The potato skins were super dry, pretty sure they were overcooked. My husband had Emi's chicken and said his chicken was dry and the whole thing was under seasoned and bland. A friend had the salmon and it was the smallest piece of salmon I've ever seen, especially for the price. I really wanted to love it because the service was excellent. I was stoked when they were able to seat our party of 10 right away, and our server was very attentive and super friendly. The fries are soggy every single time we get them. Very open feel and welcoming staff made our visit here pleasant. We were waiting for some other friends to show up so we went to the bar and sampled some of their beers. We just ordered some snacks -- a basket of fries and mozzarella sticks -- both were fine but nothing that really stood out. Service was a bit slow to start, though we understood it was a Sunday. That said, with only a few patrons in the building, it was surprising our table wasn't wiped down before we sat. Once we were seated, the food came out fairly quickly. The venue itself is nice, and I can see it being more of an evening spot with its stage, lighting, and overall setup. A couple of co-workers and myself gave this place while working here in Fallon from out of town. We walked in and it was a seat yourself establishment. Pretty much after we sat down we were greeted. The waitress took our drink orders and we went ahead and ordered. We all three got wings. I will say they have the best wings in Fallon out of the places I've tried. The night started out okay as we were served by Forrest Gump. They were very fun to interact with and everything was going great. After we ordered the food took ages to come up. There were a decent amount of people at the restaurant but not enough for the food to be this slow. It was probably 45-1 hour of waiting. Was in Fallon last night with my daughter to go to the vintage fair we decided have dinner after the fair and decided on the Grid my daughter had a hamburger cook to her liking and sweet potato fries. We came here to watch the final four games for this years college basketball tournament and were surprised how awesome this bar was! Super nice staff and really awesome beer and food. We went in here for dinner on Wednesday, March 19th around 7:30pm. We've been trying different restaurants around Fallon. First off, the place is beautiful. I love the ambiance of the modern industrial metal barn look. Our waitress was so friendly and kind. Unfortunately, the kitchen really was awful. I ordered the ribeye and the steak was good no complaints. They do serve frozen vegetables with it but totally fine. My dad's French dip sandwich with sweet potatoe fries was so bad. The meat was the driest oldest looking meat I've ever seen on a plate. I could have soaked the meat in the au juis for 10 minutes and it still would be beef jerky. Also his fries were cold. They probably cooked it immediately then waited 20 minutes for my steak to cook. My sister and her friend both ordered chicken fettuccine. First, it was not fettuccine. It was Angel hair pasta. That's fine, pasta is pasta but the chicken was processed cubed chicken clearly out of a frozen bag from some low level supplier! It looked like a frozen Marie Callender dinner from the grocery store but of lower quality. I wish I took pictures, but I was over it by then. We got two desserts determine not to let them ruin the night. $140 for four people to be served frozen low quality food. The chef and or manager clearly don't care what they serve to people. My dad didn't want me to say anything about his inedible food. He ate half of his sandwich and some of my steak and we tipped well because our waitress was great! It took 15 minutes to order our drinks then around an hour before we got to order our food. Then the kitchen took forever to prepare it we were leaving because it took so long and we were hungry. It had been over an hour and a half and no food. One of our party went and paid for the meal, that we didn't know about because we were leaving. Ended up getting a phone call from another from our party that the food had been paid for along with a generous tip. We had left cash on the table to cover our drinks and the small amount of service that we had. We returned and got the food in to go boxes. After all of this the food was very mediocre. After seeing a post on Facebook about the Grid I decided we needed to check it out. We are new to the area and starting to find new places to explore. What attracted to The Grid was they had a pizza posted on Facebook. I thought it looked amazing and I wanted to try it. Although we didn't see pizza on their menu. So we made the trip from the Carson City area to Fallon. The Grid isn't hard to find. It's literally right behind the Walmart on US50. There is plenty of parking and the building looks great. With outside seating. When you walk is it's very spacious with plenty of room. We were greeted by a gal named Shelb. Very friendly and informative about their brew selection and any questions we had. She talked me into trying a pumpkin spice ale. At first I was like hell no. I don't do the pumpkin spice thing. But I gave in and tried a small taste. I had to admit it was delicious. Needless to say I had a whole glass of it. LOL. We looked over the menu and decided on what we wanted to eat. My wife ordered a plain hamburger and I ordered the seafood sandwich which consisted of shrimp and crab meat in what looked to be a mayonnaise type of sauce. Served on a roll. My wife said the hamburger had no flavor and was just ok. My sandwich I thought was very good. Nice and light and went well with the ale I was drinking. We also ordered fried pickles as our appetizer and those were good. I don't even like pickles. So yes they were that good. The menu is pretty good. Lots of choices to choose from. The place is clean and really nice. I don't always judge place from one visit. So I'm sure we will be back to try some of the other items on the menu. So I think The Grid is worthy of 5 stars. First of all, this is a great small town establishment. The service is friendly and personal. It seemed like most people here knew each other and is a great local watering hole. It was a Saturday evening and was just busy enough to have a great energetic vibe, but it was not overly crowded. I stopped in after visiting Frey Ranch Distillery, I saw the signs driving into town and had a visit on my mind. I received recommendations from a few at the distillery and decided to try it out. I had the Southwest burger on a lettuce wrap, and it was heavenly! Perfectly grilled beef with Monterey Jack just absolutely hit the spot. I upgraded the regular fries to sweet potato fries, and I think they were the best I've ever had. Side of guacamole, and a side of chipotle aïoli went perfectly with the burger and sweet potato fries. The rest of the menu looked like delicious homestyle cooking. We've been here a few times before -- the food has always been mediocre, but decent enough for the area, which is why we kept giving it another chance. However, the experience this time was frustrating enough to make it our last. They should seriously reconsider their "seat yourself" approach. After sitting for about 10 minutes and watching servers bring menus to four other tables who arrived after us, I politely asked one for menus. She said "sure," then went in the opposite direction to take payment from another table -- fair enough, I've worked in the food industry for 10 years and understand priorities. But then she went behind the bar, picked up her phone, and never came back. Three other servers passed by during that time, none acknowledging us. Eventually, we just got up and left. As we did, I thanked her for the menus (which we never got), and she looked genuinely surprised -- we were too, by the complete lack of service. read more

This was the second time to the Grid, decent atmosphere but on both occasions the service was terrible, lots of staff but not alot of service. Once we sat ourselves, a server took our drink order pretty quick. After the drinks were delivered, it took the server at least 30 or 45 minutes to return to our table. Once we finally ordered, we had almost an hour wait to receive our food. The shrimp scampi was ok, good sauce and decent size shrimp , the chicken Alfredo was ok, sauce was good but could have used a real chicken breast instead of the processed crap. Servers and staff were overall nice however they and the kitchen were slower than molasses, if you are short on time, go somewhere else.
