Finding reliable and trustworthy child care is as difficult as finding an honest mechanic. I had to follow my gut instinct when I withdrew my (then 4 month old) son from the first Montessori and enrolled him into Telfair. The staff at Telfair are knowledgeable and attentive with both the child and parents needs. They are organized and strive to keep an open communication with parents. They keep the children engaged and put a lot of effort into the programs for the kids. I appreciate multi cultural day, bring mom/dad to class day, the fall festival etc... My son is going on 3.5 and loves his teachers and classmates. I can't say enough about how much he has blossomed there. I recently enrolled my second child at 2 months old and without any doubts, I know she is taken care of. Very caring, and organized staff. Both our daughters had a lovely time there for over a year. Alexa loved Ms. Lavanya, and misses her dearly. She picked up some great skills she uses to her advantage in Kindergarten. Miranda our youngest daughter was treated with great care and love by Ms. Momin. This Montessori is worth looking at. I went for a tour and had my child enrolled here for about a year. The director, Sanjana, is great at communication and helped us a lot with the process of my child leaving and coming back. The school is clean and very organized. For the first few years we loved the school. My son had Miss Momin for the toddler program and I cannot speak highly enough about her. She's warm, kind, caring, and knows her students. She also follows Montessori principals and I could tell from my sons environmental reactions. The teachers aides are not all on the same page. Once we moved to primary my son had a major change in attitude, started hating school, and was not learning anything aside from what he learned in his other academic activities. He would bring home work that the teachers did- he never painted nor colored the work, half the time he would exclaim "look what my teacher colored for me" and I would see his friends have similarly finished work (I watched cameras on several occasions and this is nothing new). If my son is going to learn anything he needs a chance to do the work not have his teachers work be sent home every week. It was frustrating to be paying tuition for work his teachers did, and very little learning or advancement to be happening. The teacher also lacked the discipline tactics you would expect in Montessori, which I saw not only with my own child but on camera with others. Many of my sons friends also had the same issues. The school claims to follow Montessori principals but they are not a Montessori certified school and definitely do not practice it thru all the class rooms and daily activities. They have Montessori certified teachers in most of the classrooms but not all (infant I believe is lacking). Lack of Montessori methods, Especially in discipline which is one thing these kids need in the correct manner is a major issue. The times I was watching the cameras I would see teachers grab kids by the arm and pull them to force them to sit where they "wanted" and yelling was a frequent issue per two of my sons friends. The other issue is my child has medical issues concerning dietary needs and every day I was finding out they were over serving him and he was frequently sick because of it. They did reach out once over popsicle changes but on several occasions I was calling the school after picking up my son because he was sick on the ride home and I had to figure out what they gave him so I could try and resolve the issue. The last straw for us was when we got an email saying the director had resigned and it arrived literally that week- they knew about this I'm advance but did not tell parents till the end. Kids did not even get to say goodbye properly. After watching the cameras and witnessing my sons disdain (never had this issue aside from there) and then the issues we found out about staff, we decided it was best to withdraw and it was the best decision we could have made. He was 3 days a week and we know that is not the issue because he does the same now but without all the issues. He's excelling by months of what he would have done at Telfair as evidenced by progression in concepts. We know several families who had issues and did the same. I wish it went better- I liked miss momin so much we were willing to take my daughter there despite moving her brother but after watching cameras and the issues with communication in regards to many various issues I realized it was no longer an environment I wanted my children in. If you have any questions about our experience or the observations that lead me to withdraw my child or even the benefits we noticed early on vs the changes- feel free to reach out. I wish I would have listened to more parent feed back before enrolling anywhere so I'm happy share my experiences with other parents reading this. read more

Best Montessori education ever. My Daughter only went there for just 3 months and then passed her kindergarten entrance test. In only 3 months, I saw drastic change. She learned so much. I know this school from last 6 yeras and hands down can say that the staff and teachers and the admin all are very supportive, loving, caring and educated. My son and daughter both loves the enviorment and all their teachers. We still love Telfair Montessori! My daughter is now in kindergarten at Cornerstone (which was always the plan), but my 4 year old son still attends Montessori. After all this time, we still love the school and the teachers. The director, Ms. Arya, is so good and I think that is the key. She is professional, kind, and always seems to be thinking one step ahead. My kids came here as babies and have really blossomed into smart, sweet little people! read more

This place will never be the same without Ms. Arya, previous director. From students, teachers to parents, everyone just loved her. She handled everything, parent communication, school events, tours, admissions, billing, marketing, COVID protocols, car pool, the list goes on, with integrity, love and patience. She was proactive, genuine and compassionate. Her knowledge of Montessori education and attention to small details was commendable! I remember her telling me during a school event, "I love what I do, TM is a second home for me". Parents and community members associated Telfair Montessori with her name. It is extremely sad to witness the school lose an irreplaceable asset, Ms. Arya! Lot of support staff, and some great teachers like Ms. Armin left the school after she left TM. We decided to withdraw our child too as it is not the same environment anymore. Ms. Arya walked away so quietly, that we didn't get a chance to say our goodbyes :( Thank you for your response! Sorry, but I along with many other parents do not agree with the addition of new talents to your team. My child was placed in a classroom with your new hire, Ms. Samina Momina who is an Infant Toddler certified teacher and not early childhood/primary teacher (age 3-6 year old). The management team manipulating facts like this tells a lot about your integrity, love and patience. Your new director and other new hire who have or are undergoing mediocre online Montessori certificates tells a lot about how the child care facility has adapted to new changes. This is a fairly new Montessori school (opened three years ago if I'm not mistaken). The director is very nice and knowledgable. The only down side is that they don't have elementary classes at the moment, but the director did mention that they're planning to add first grade. Definitely should be a school to consider if you're looking for a Montessori school in Sugarland. read more

I am typically the last person to write a review, but the wonderful experiences our family has had with Telfair Montessori prompted me to write one! We started sending our son to the Telfair Montessori when he was 23 months. The initial few weeks very rough on all of us. He would cry throughout the day, would not sleep or eat and would not let the other kids sleep either due to his constant crying. This situation is extremely worrisome for any parent and especially for us being that this is our first child! Telfair Montessori staff however did a fabulous job of quickly recognizing the situation at hand, getting to know our son, his likes/dislikes and went out of their way to make him feel as comfortable as they possibly could! They constantly worked with us to come up with ideas on how to help him acclimatize better/quicker to the new environment. What impressed us the most about Ms. Leigh and Ms. Lorena was that they go above and beyond to get to know each one of their students and as a result are able to work around each child's personality. This puts you at ease as a parent, especially when your child is having trouble adjusting to a new environment. Ms. Leigh is a very experienced teacher and has a phenomenal ability of understanding the kids quickly and handles them accordingly in a firm yet caring manner. We are very lucky to have her as a teacher for our son. Ms. Lorena is also amazing. As a Director she has a smile on her face all day and while responsible for the entire campus is still able to get to know each child individually. The campus environment itself is very refreshing as well. The property is kept very clean and the classrooms are spacious and well-lit. Each and every one of the staff members pay good attention to detail. One day when I went to pick my son, they mentioned to me that he had his meal that day all by himself and were very proud of that! They make it a point of bringing up the good and the bad things to the parents and provide suggestions on how to help your child get over the bad things. The aftercare staff does an awesome job as well. Especially Ms. Disha and Ms. Khushbu will go out of their way to keep the kids occupied in the evening while waiting for the parents to pick them up. Ms. Ashley is great too, always answers the phone and promptly follows up on any requests. Our son has been at the Telfair Montessori for 5 months now and he actually looks forward to going there every morning and simply loves his teachers. We think it's an excellent school and would highly recommend this school. read more

I strongly recommend not to go to this daycare!!! My baby started from their infant class, and lost two front teeth after a month. I was told he fell off at the edge of windows, and knocked out his two teeth. Not sure how it happened, but when the daycare called me, and I saw he had blood over his face, I was heartbroken. He was only 13 months at that time and he will not have two front teeth until he is 7 or 8 years old! We talked to the daycare to ask them to put some pads on the woods my baby fell on to avoid other babies have the same accidents, they said they are searching for it, but two months passed until I pull out my baby from the daycare, nothing happens. For the dental treatment, the owners did not give us the insurance information for the dental treatment because they are afraid they insurance fee will increase next year. They only want to pay the past treatment fee we paid, which is several hundred dollars. But my baby needs future treatment when he is three or four year old, and the treatment will cost thousands dollars. We talked to them once and they said they are not even legal responsible for this payment. What is the use of insurance for daycare accidents??? I pulled my baby out from this day care, and I am talking to some lawyers to see how to solve this issue. Some teachers are OK, but some teachers are not responsible. If you do not want to your kids get hurt and have a responsible daycare, stay away from this one. read more

This is a wonderful school... brought in my little one for an eval and she had a great time. The Director was wonderful and patient and knew all the kids by name.
