Just wanted to give a shout out to our Teller County Waste driver, Andrew (I don't know his last name). He has been one of the best we've ever had!! He is so courteous, does his job well, and even goes above and beyond! He always pulls our trash can off the side of the road and partially down our driveway which no one has ever done before. We have a latrine at our construction site... for the past 6 months or so. Our driver / technician named Aaron is very nice, cordial and professional. I am completely satisfied with his care of our latrine for the construction workers. read more

The staff at Teller County Waste has a bad attitude and their work etiquette is not any better. The call center staff is not well informed on their own company policies and they are slow to remediate any issues. On several occasions the trash bin was not picked up by Teller County Waste and on others the service that was delivered was sub par. Do yourself a favor and go with one of the other companies that service the area. read more

Very unfortunate that teller county waste has displayed a lack of pride, work ethic and integrity in doing there jobs well and rectifying issues caused by their route drivers. The trash truck intentionally strewn the trash about our driveway and flipped our can upside. They claimed due to the dog poop the driver felt it best to leave our can upside down to drain (moving forward we'll ensure all is double bagged/bagged) however, clearly what trash was left wasn't just flipped upside down in the can. clearly it's strewn about and the entire outside of our can was covered in dog poop which is not how it was put out. Teller Waste refused to credit our account and said that it was our fault their driver threw our trash about because it wasn't 100% bagged. Extremely disappointed and do not recommend this company. read more

Teller County Waste - Junk Removal & Hauling Near Me - Woodland Park, Colorado

I tried to contact the Teller Waste office via phone. The voice mail system said it was Wednesday 15 Feb when it's actually Friday 17 Feb. Trash was supposed to be picked up today instead of yesterday according to three email notes I received from them. One trash can was picked up but the recyclable can wasn't. In fact the driver and truck stopped by that can and rolled it to the side of the road and left it there without emptying it. It is a danger to passing traffic. I cannot get the can back up my driveway. Unfortunately this is somewhat typical of the service this outfit provides. Bill H read more

Teller County Waste... is a joke. I have tried for two recycle collection periods to have a container of recycle excess picked up. The first time I had called and asked how to go about doing so prior to my 7/20 pickup date. I was told to label the container with a big R and place it next to the recycle and that I would be billed accordingly. It was not collected. Fast fwd 2 weeks. I called Teller County Waste yesterday, told them my situation and they ensured me that a work order had been issued and the overflow would be picked up today 8/3. I placed the clearly labelled overflow container next to my recycle container. I watched as the collector took my primary container and promptly ignored the overflow and left before I could even get my shoes on and yell down the driveway. I called TCW and reported the situation and was reassured that the driver would be dispatched to return and collect it. They never returned. I will be visiting their corporate office in the morning with my bag of recyclables in hand. Wish me luck... read more

Went a month with no pickup because roads not scraped to dirt ultimately will not pickup during the winter.was told to leave trash out for the animals to scatter.but of coarse still got charged.had to haul to the dump myself and promptly switched to waste management they might be more expensive but they haven't missed a pickup.better to pay more for service than less for nothing! read more

TELLER COUNTY WASTE - THE EPITOME OF POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. A long term customer I called Teller County Waste repeatedly over two days this week following their failure to make our bi-weekly recycling collection in Divide on Wednesday. With a promised call-back not forthcoming, I finally asked to speak to someone in charge, in this instance being connected with the exceptionally curt and dismissive 'office manager'. Having spent many years in senior management roles in service industries I know that the only acceptable and appropriate response would have been to offer an apology and a remedy, in this instance fulfilment of the contractual service obligation to the customer by arranging to send someone out to make the collection. I received no apology or reason for the service failure however and no appropriate remedy was offered, instead I was asked in a rude manner whether I had ever "made a mistake"; yes, I have made mistakes, but have rectified them as soon as I was made aware of them, a principle with which Teller County Waste seems unfamiliar. My entirely unacceptable 'remedy' it transpires is that I will have to wait until the next scheduled collection in two weeks to have my very full recycling can emptied, store any further accumulated recycling material on my property 'in a cardboard box' in the interim, with the attendant risk of attracting rodents or other scavengers, and that a refund of payment would be made. That the office manager was ignorant of the fact that if any business enters into an agreement to provide a service and accepts payment for that service, whether in writing or otherwise, a contract is implied, tells much about Teller County Waste and its' lack of appreciation of or commitment to its' customers. The one time I don't recommend going local. This company is terrible from a customer service perspective to actually picking up the trash. Go with waste management whose has a way better system all together. You can call teller county waste tell them something and nothing will get done about it. Have had this happen multiple times. My husband and I bought property in park county that had some large piles of rotting building material that were an eyesore. The people at Teller County Waste were friendly, respectful and helpful. Based on my description, they recommended the perfect size roll-off to fit everything. The delivery driver made sure he knew where we wanted it parked. We had absolutely no issues with anything. It's wonderful, but rare, to pay for services without running into a problem at some point in the process, and this was that rarity. Their service was excellent at every level. They failed to pick up our trash for two weeks in a row. The driver took a picture from down the street and tried to say that we did not have our trash can out, but each week our trash can was placed at the end of our driveway. We called multiple times throughout the two weeks, and were not given any details as to why it wasn't being picked up until the the end of that two week period. Their final solution was to say that they would pick up the trash the next time they were in the area. When I told them that was unacceptable and it needed to be picked up that day, they said they would not do it. When I told them that if they did not pick it up that day, I would leave my two weeks worth of trash on their driveway and cancel my service, they said that that's what I should do if I didn't want to wait for them to pick it up at their convenience. The lack of customer service is appalling. Do not use them. read more

I have had the pleasure of using Teller County Waste services for more than 10 years. I have dealt with them when they serviced our HOA as a weekly commercial customer. Now, I am a very pleased, current individual rural household customer on a bi-weekly schedule. We all have personalities, even businesses! They respond well to reason! I have found TCW to live up to ALL of my REASONABLE expectations. They seldom clean up messes created by animals or mishandling of trash. That is my responsibility. This is a continuation of the last review I did. Bottom line, eventually they picked up the garbage. They sent an email out to us saying the driver took a photo of the area...no photo attached...they were out there 5 plus hours before he was in the neighborhood every week pretty much...we just signed up for every week instead of bi-weekly as customer service has pretty much communicated they have problems doing the job right if you are bi-weekly instead of weekly...strange way to own your own product. I've now rented portapotties from them twice. The first time, they were incredibly helpful, made sure I had what I needed to not get pulled over, and made sure the trailer was properly secured. The second time, they walked me to the portapotty, charged me for a hitch (which was previously provided free as of late July 2017) and told me they couldn't help me connect the electric (lights) because that wasn't something that they did, and then proceeded to tell me to avoid main roads and driving at night because I would get a ticket for not connecting the lights. Bottom line: the toilets are great, but the new woman in charge of them will nickel and dime you the whole way. read more

Terrible to do business with. I was nickeled and dimed by this company, $7.00 here, $4.99 there, because I left one box outside my trash bin. Also paid for their recycling program a month in advance and then they stick a tag on my recycle bin to call them and sign up. When I called, she said they have no way of knowing anything when they pick up trash. Seems pretty elementary to me to inform your drivers what's going on. They seem to be able to keep track of charging you extra for a cardboard box. read more

Hard to give a good review when you call to set up service twice but they're too busy to call you back. They say being too busy is a great problem to have, but in this case being too busy is great for your competitors. read more

Lack of customer service on several levels - from garbage man who selectively would pick through my dumpster and decide what deserved to go that week and what didn't (that went on for months) and then refusing service when bill was paid in full three days prior to pick up- and refusing to pick up my full dumpster until the next week I was told that "we all have bears." It does not seem to me that there is any effort being made to be of service to their customers. Very disappointing. read more

They will cancel pickup now for a very small amount of snow and refuse to reschedule, saying they will pickup double the following week. They will change their service pickup routes by 10 hours and not notify any of their customers claiming that they can't when in fact they have everyone's email. Yesterday, everyone on my street was skipped because of their route changes and they refuse to come back. If you have more than 2 requests in regards to service within 12 months they charge you a $10 fee per change. The only positive about them is they are the cheapest and so you get what you pay for I guess, which isn't much. read more

Wow, I have not experienced anything bad about Teller County Waste. They are pleasant whenever I do call them for something. From what I have read, most people complaining about them state they got a little belligerent themselves, so what do you expect? Treat people like people and not cr@p and you may be surprised at the friendly level of service you receive. They always pick up my trash and recycling. The interaction I have had with their drivers is very good. Not to mention they are a bunch cheaper than WM with all their extra fees, etc. My congrats and thanks to TCW for doing a good job and saving me money. read more

I've been with them a long time. Mostly I'm happy with them, except that they only pick up two bags of recycle. They need to stop bragging so much that they recycle unless they start putting more effort into it. I have a family of 8 and we generate a fair amount of trash. Because of this we try to recycle as much as we can. We usually have more recycle than trash, but Teller County Waste just ends up throwing most of it in the trash. Such a waste. After two bags they either won't pick it up at all or they just throw it in with the trash. Frustrating to see after the work we put in to minimize our trash. read more

Been using Teller County Waste for 15 years without complaint. The drivers are always very friendly.

Teller County Waste charged me a $25.00 Construction Waste pick up fee because I put a few small pieces of plywood in my 96-gal tote. The amount of plywood I threw out could be held in one hand and were just small pieces left over from a recent project I was working on. When I called to complain the only concession they would make was to reduce the fee from $25.00 to $12.50. Apparently, there can be no amount of lumber, drywall, trim or other construction waste discarded in your trash. This makes no sense to me. If it fits in the can, the lid closes and the can is not overweight, there should not be additional charges for items like these. I was also charged for an extra bag I supposedly left beside my can last month. I have not left any extra bags out since last April. My trash sits next to my neighbors trash every Monday morning, how can the driver determine who to apply the extra charges towards? If he picks you, your apparently "just out of luck". I was very displeased with their customer service and wish Teller County had more options for service providers. I can't run to the dump every time I have a few pieces of wood to discard and I cant afford a $25.00 construction waste pick up fee to throw them away in my trash. As dry as it has been, I hate to burn them but it would appear to be the only remaining option. read more

How funny, my trash company just popped up on Yelp! Who knew... Anyway, these guys are great. I recently had dragged my cans out to the street only to discover a couple hours later the wind had knocked them over and scattered the bags all over. I was headed out there just as the truck showed up and they picked them all up themselves; wouldn't even let me help. HORRIBLE! They missed our trash can on the first week and refused to pick it up, Diane the manager is RUDE and extremely interruptive. Never have I been so insulted by a company. She refused to work with us, threatened to cancel the account after I paid, put our account on hold well before the 3 month period, refused our promised credit, claims to be the owner and refused to give the phone to the owner, and hung up on us. My wife and I will never deal with Teller County waste again. We were told by our landlord that they were the only ones with service to our house. It was a nightmare from the very first trash pick up whenever they hauled off a perfectly good metal trash can and threw it away. There were times we never had our trash picked up, when I would call they would say that our trash was not out in time which was incorrect because I would take it out at 6:15 am, the requirements were they had to be out on the street by 7am. They did not take care of any of the trash cans as I had to replace to them 2 different times because they were broken and destroyed by their employees. Luckily, my wife and I just bought a house but when she called to cancel our trash service on a specific day they cancelled it the week prior. I called to find out why our trash was not picked up this week and was informed that it was cancelled for last Tuesday instead of this Tuesday. They had told my wife it would be this Tuesday. They argued with me at which point they told me that my wife and I have problems communicating insinuating a bad marriage. I told them to refund a week of our monthly bill because we paid for one month and they gave us 3 weeks of service. They refused to give the refund at which I got vulgar and hung up the phone. Their customer service reps and their trash men do not care or respect their customers. If I could I wouldn't even give one star. read more

Had missed the trash pick up on the 18th, called to request an off schedule pickup. They acted as though they were doing a HUGE favor by saying they would do a one time courtesy pickup and promised to pickup trash following Thursday, which is a regular pick up day for weekly pickups. We were Bi- Monthly. Along comes Thursday and no pickup, so i call at 1pm, at least 5 hours after supposed pickup time. Was told to leave it out and it WOULD be picked up. No one came. Called the next day to let them know, they could NOT explain why even though promised. She stated that they were picking up as a courtesy, which doesnt matter since they DIDN'T pick up as promised. Tried to ask for a discount for this months bill since only 1 pickup was made for the month, they refused and again acted as they were doing me a favor by saying they would pick up double the amount of trash and not charge me. Ended up getting screwed both by having 3 weeks worth of trash to haul the 1/4 mile back down and then back up next Thursday, but also by still being charged $30.95 for October for only 1 pickup service!! read more

I don't know what problems the one-start reviewer had, but we've been a customer for a couple years and have nothing but good things to say about the company. Unlike the previous company we had, this one has trash trucks, (yup) is dependable, will take a bulk item once a month (or more if lucky), has friendly staff and drivers, and bills accurately. Nothing but trouble, billing messed up, even though I send payment through bill pay, and I know they were paid. Don't do the only thing I give them money to do, pick up the trash. Won't come back the next day, have to wait another week. Rude customer service, hung up on me twice in two days. They may be cheaper then others, but you don't even get what you pay for. I have been a loyal customer of Chaffee County Waste whenever I needed trash/recycling service since the company came to Chaffee County-I chose to support a local business over a nationwide one (Waste Management) I always pay my bill on time, and sometimes I've paid double, paying in advance for the next month as well. I am in the process of moving so I no longer need trash service at my house. I cancelled it in early September. When I did, they told me that my last pick up would be September 27. I wrote that down on my calendar that day. On September 27 they did not come and pick up my trash/recycling. I called them about it within the week. I was told that they'd send someone out to get it and that if no one did I should call and let them know in a week. I called a week later and was told they'd look into it. I never heard back. I called again and spoke to someone and he also told me he would look into it and call me within the hour-he did not. (Now I wish I'd written down the names of these people I spoke to.) This week I finally spoke with the office manager, Stephanie. She said that she has in her records that they called and left a voicemail telling me my final pick up would be Sept. 16. She said because of that they would not come pick up my trash. I discussed this with her further until she asked me to hold for a minute. I was on hold for 15 minutes at least-enough time for me to ride my bike to a local store, ask for assistance, make a purchase and begin my ride home. It was at that time that I hung up because she was clearly not coming back to the phone and my lunch break was over. I called back again today. I spoke with Brenna. She was kind and understanding-but in the end said that the only service she could offer is a one time pick up that would cost me $25. She also said part of the problem was that I waited "almost a month" to call about it. It's been three weeks-and I've been calling EVERY week. This all seems so ridiculous to me. The trash truck goes through my alley every week-all I want is for them to honor the fact that I've been a loyal customer, to realize that it was just a communication issue (because I haven't deleted any voicemails since August and there is NO vm from Stephanie at Chaffee County Waste) and simply want them to come pick up my trash and recycling so the bears don't keep getting into it. I don't have a garage and I need to get it out of the alley. read more
