Upon arrival, the water heater had went out and the floor was flooded. We called the office and was asked if we could go somewhere for a hour or so, while she sent maintenance. We agreed even tho we were completely exhausted from the day and had brought food with us to eat that evening. We went to a local restaurant only to return to the same problem. Long story short. The room absolutely stunk like a musky smell. The sheets didn't look like they had even been changed. On top of that we itched all night long in bed. Not sure if that was mosquitoes or what because we couldn't open the back door cause of all the wasp flying around. It was a terrible experience. I would not recommend this place to anyone. I have since learned that this place was sold to New owners and the service has from this place has tremendously dropped. The new owners don't care for their guest like the previous owner. Save your money, you will be glad you did

I was over charged, when i called about the charge i was emailed a receipt and was told there would be a copy on file and when i arrived it would be taking care of. long story short, that never happened! i had to even pay extra! i had no choice but to keep the cabin or loose all of my money. To top that off, there was swarms of bees all over our back deck, when i called the office they offered no help and i was told pest controll had been called and i could purchase some spray myself at the local dollar store! One thing that was not liked which I'm sure is typical of most campgrounds, year long rented sites. This makes it difficult for others to rent and most only show up several times a year. Beach area was nice but beware of two underwater hazards. Two large tree stumps are located in the deep end which cut up our feet. Another item that was in my thoughts very, very dangerous. The outdoor shower not only shocked another camper and their family but also us. It was a pretty good bite which left my arm numb for awhile. The people in the office wss notified but they acted like it was no big deal. Public bathrooms stayed nice and clean and a plus is that they were AC cooled!

I stayed overnight during a Women at the Well Ministry event, since I live out of state. The quilting retreat home rests on the same property as the residential program for women with life-controlling issues, but it has its own driveway that veers away from the main road. Your group can tuck in, spread out, and enjoy privacy without feeling like you're intruding. The house itself is a beauty, a real take-your-breath-and-give-it-back kind of place. The wraparound porch is dotted with chairs and a table, perfect for morning coffee, quiet devotion, or late-night conversations when the world feels soft. Inside are four bedrooms with a total of nine beds, three full baths, and one half bath. There's also a cozy sitting room overflowing with books and comfy chairs that seem to whisper, stay a little longer. The kitchen is fully stocked, and the long dining table invites your group to gather without needing to eat out. Break bread, sip coffee, or laugh until the seams come loose. As for the sewing machines and supplies, my skills stop at sewing on a stray button, so I can't offer specifics, but there are plenty of machines and loads of materials. Definitely check the photos and videos to get the full picture. There's a thoughtful coffee station with decaf, various blends, and tea options. They've also included a ramp and a chair lift for guests with mobility challenges, which speaks to the heart behind this retreat. But oh, the peace. It's quiet. Gentle. Unhurried. The kind of stillness that settles into your soul and reminds you to breathe deeper. And here's the part that makes my heart dance. This retreat supports a 501(c)(3) nonprofit ministry for women overcoming life-controlling issues, including some who are pregnant or new moms. The ministry receives no state or federal funding. Many of the women are unable to cover the cost of the fifteen-month program, so renting this retreat home becomes one of the beautiful ways people help support their transformation. Countless lives have been changed on that hill by the grace of God, including mine. I can't speak to the cost, since I only stayed one night during an event, but the value? Eternal.

There were a total of 14 of us and we had plenty of room for everyone. The "Gathering Room" was huge and let us spread out to relax, talk separately, watch tv and even take a nap. The Dining area was perfect! We had enough room to use one table as a food/buffet area! My Dad wanted to rent somewhere that all the small families could come together from all over the south east. He's 85 and wanted to make sure we all got together at least one more time before he's not able to travel anymore. I'm so glad I found the Blue Boar Inn to give him his wish! The Philips motel in robinsville, is a charming motel. the new owner Bill, is very attentive to the…read moredetails and working hard to improve and update the property.  there are multiple seating areas for meals, drinks etc. the landscaping is well done.  there are two (2) covered areas for motorcycle parking and plenty of room across the street if you have a trailer.  the rooms are well laid out and a really good value. quaint is a word we used to describe this motel. the hotel staff is prompt and very clean.  it is in a great location for the cherhola skyway, the dragon, and the moonshiners 28 runs. we also ran the wolf.  if you are coming to North Carolina for the tail of the dragon, or any road in the area, we highly recommend this motel for your stay, you will not be disappointed .

Right from the start we were greeted by Rosa who immediately made us feel right at home with her warmth and humor. Chef Andrew is an incredible talent. Everything was just extraordinarily delicious! We started with a very yummy chili with cornbread followed by the best pork belly we have had with a yummy almond butter sauce (lord!!) and then finished it off with perfectly cooked flatiron steaks with yummy cowboy butter! Oh and Chef even brought us some crispy cilantro rice that was also just a masterpiece of flavors. I don't know how many times I stopped during our meal to exclaim "this is SO GOOD" ....but it was many. That was the food- the people and service were as if not more impressive. Taz, the innkeeper who served us was incredibly kind and friendly and even brought us a complimentary champagne toast, which was so nice and appreciated! Again Rosa was hilarious and so sweet to us and then we met Shannon who brought us our desserts at the end of our meal and also made us feel like old friends. The front desk girls were so sweet, welcoming, and ready to take care of whatever we needed and the Innkeeper/GM, Taz, wow! She seems to do it all and does it with such grace and kindness and pays attention to every guest - no matter how busy. We enjoyed speaking with her and learning the history of this little tucked away find. And what a find! What a location! Magnificent views and so peaceful, yet so many things you can do - especially nothing at all! Exploring was so much fun! They have an age limit of 13 years so keep that in mind if you have kiddos but what an escape and needed respite for us. They make fresh baked cookies in the morning - so delicious. Service overall was impeccable and we felt well cared for. Even better than warming up by the gorgeous fire and having our cocktails hand delivered was the food. The Chef most definitely has talent and the quail was perfection - also such creative presentation of his dishes! Who knew 5-star quality dining was waiting for us in such a perfectly remote location. It is so gorgeous up here as the weather turns cooler but we will definitely have to come back in the summer to take advantage of the water activities. We met beautiful people during our stay and if the fact couples make it a point to keep coming back years later doesn't speak to you about how special this place is, maybe the fact that you will witness hospitality at its finest and truly hard-working human beings who not only serve up an amazing experience but true kindness.
