The leaders of the church are wise, kind, have integrity, and most importantly, they teach what's in the Bible. In addition, the other staff couldn't be better people. They go above and beyond in showing love and support. They are very transparent about important church topics like the direction of the church and the budget, and I think the more transparency there is, the better. It's honestly embarrassing I spent so much time with them and I feel defeated. So I feel it is my fiduciary duty, to warn any queer people thinking about attending here that you will not be safe or affirmed. This church will not have your back in the end. I spent the better part of the last decade trying to work with them, only to have the leadership that seemed to be receptive to me forced out, one after the other. And let's not even start about the financial situation of this church, which is a mess and has been their cardinal sin for decades now as their numbers continue to dwindle due to financial mismanagement and many other things. It's sad to have to write this about a place that had at one point been a very significant part of my life. But sometimes, you just can't go home again. I find spending Sunday mornings at home playing cozy games or going to gay brunch much more spirit filled than church, anyway.

I love it here. It's very spacious and all the preachers here can preach. The pastors have hearts…read moreof gold and puts on programs in the summer to feed the community and they even have church outside when the weather permits. They allow anyone to come in and get prayer or just come and enjoy the word of God and fellowship with them. I've seen people walk up from off the streets and listen in and get prayer from the pastors. The people here all have a good spirit and there is so much joy and peace here now. Everyone is genuine here and very friendly and they don't stare at you when you come in wearing pants or shorts. It's come as you are cause here, the ONLY judge is God. He will bless you with more and then if you feel lead, HE will tell you what to wear. Cause no one here will turn you away for what you don't have in your closet to wear. Which I absolutely love. Their job is to welcome you in to the house of the Lord and God , from there, does the rest. They love the way God intends for HIS people to love. Without any judgement or picks and chooses just genuine love. And I'm happy to be apart of something like that!
