Mushroom burger
Lachlan C.

Temple brewery is located in a side street and we came here as a stop on our weekly bike ride. We sit down in a nice ambience. Alcohol is limitless with many choices of beer but only 3 choices of soft drink. Layout is good and modern. I ordered a "Midnight burger" which is a wagyu beef burger with black brioche bun along with pickles, cheese, etc. The taste is absolutely perfect. Service excellent. Very impressed with the burger's flavours and the juiciness of the patty. We also got the chips with tomato relish which was a great side dish. Really enjoyed this meal. Overall this is an excellent restaurant and not too expensive either. Have come here many times and will come back again and again Second time ordered a chicken parmigiana. Absolutely perfect. The chicken cooked to perfection and the cheese, tomato sauce and bacon absolutely complimented the chicken well. The salad and chips on the side gave a good compliment. Perfect!

I've visited Temple twice now, both during an event the were holding, so I'm not entirely sure what it's like on a "regular" day but I love this place based on these visits. Temple has a very industrial look, concrete everywhere and you overlook the actual brewery when you sit in either of the bars (upstairs and downstairs) but the welcoming we have received upon arriving has been anything but cold. Our first visit was for the launch of their Ginger Beer, which was also tied into Chinese New Year. As soon as we pushed through the large wooden doors we were beckoned inside with massive smiles and warm welcomes. Our second visit was for a beer degustation evening, and we were greeted at the door just as warmly. The staff are friendly, helpful and love their beer. The beer selection is delicious to say the least. There is bound to be something here to suit your tastes and there is a "fat boy" tap through which the beer is filtered through to give a new twist to, such as the Ginger Beer being fed through ginger or the Oatmeal Stout through coffee. It's definitely worth a try! A previous review led me to believe the food would be terrible here, but it was far from this. Perhaps there are new chefs working here now, or they just learned to cook, but the food I've eaten here has been absolutely spectacular. Granted, the degustation night was probably a little out of the ordinary, but on that night we were treated to some of the nicest food that I've eaten out in quite some time. We just ate chips on our other visit (and they were great!) and the regular menu looked just as nice, which everyone else there seemed to be enjoying. So I eagerly await a return visit to Temple, on a regular night to see what it is like, and the only reason I'm giving a 4 rating instead of a 5 is because I have yet to see what it is like outside of these nights.

The baked Camembert.

Amazing baked Camembert to start then the short ribs for main. Absolutely sensational. The great food is a bonus for a brewery bar. The wife had the mushroom Ragu which by all accounts is amaze balls. Highly recommended.

The atmosphere, cold and industrial, just doesn't do it for me...I also went when it was fairly empty which didn't help...

Okay, this place wasn't the easiest of places to get to, but once I managed to negotiate the maze…read morethat was the industrial estate I found myself at a place that was truly magnificent - a craft beer brewery. Actually, this was probably better than the bars because it is in here that you will discover beers that you simply will not find elsewhere, and that was certainly what happened to me. Yes, the beers were pretty awesome, though this place isn't all that big, and does get a little crowded. Still, I come here for the beers.

I'm so beyond happy that I finally made it to Hop Nation…read more This place is in a pickle to find, even with the help of Google Maps. The turn to get here is very sudden, leaving no room for error. It's a good thing that U-turns are an easy fix. Hop Nation is located in a very industrial plot. It's a quaint, little, chill, no fuss set-up. Set amongst the warehouses, there's an open roller door which leads way to a craft brewery. Hop Nation defines all of the indie expectations that come with craft beer and it's nestled into Footscray. There's a few standing cocktail tables with high seats, then your eyes meet a quaint little bar. They have a few beers on tap, and popcorn for the munchies. Load up with your choices and find a seat, I'm sure you won't be in a hurry to get out of this brew bar. The best thing is that Hop Nation welcome outside food. That's a huge plus for a venue. And you will want food, cause you will be snuggling yourself in, trying out their beers. You have the option of bringing your own, or getting UberEats delivered. It's a cool spot perfect for a midday session. And the beers are spot on too.

If you're looking for a fabulous German night out in Melbourne, look no further. Restaurant is spacious and the crew here really go all out to make sure you have a great time. This is the third time in a row I've had a birthday here and I really feel the need to recognise how good it is to eat and drink here. I usually go to a German place on my birthday and this is where I will keep going. After so many German meals, both here and in Germany, I think I'm well qualified to make the recommendation.

My team headed here for lunch on a Friday and this place was packed out! Luckily we got a table…read moreoutside (gotta enjoy those rare sunny Melbourne days!) and fairly common in pubs is the practice of ordering and paying at the bar, which is great for large groups as there is zero hassle of splitting a bill at the end. The lunch specials for $13.50 sounded pretty good, so I got a skewer of mixed sausages with potato salad and green salad (on the menu it's called Wurstlspiess). Waited at the bar for my beer and by the time I got back to the table, within 5 minutes of sitting down, my dish was served woo hoo! Considering how busy they were, I was stoked at the fast turnaround time (I was starving!!). Didn't seem like they were too consistent though, as half my colleagues got theirs quickly and the other half waited longer. Let's just say I was happy to be on the right half of the team :) The meal itself was A OK! It was a complete package of meat, carbs and greens. With mustard. Yum! The sausages didn't have that 'fresh off the bar-bee' taste, but can't complain, there was variety (4 different kinds), and I think compared to the other specials, this looked more appetizing. Serving size was just right for me. The venue itself is cool, decked out like a Bavarian beer hall with servers in traditional garb. Check it out for lunch if you're in the area!
