I would NOT recommend this preschool with the current director in place. I can't say enough about…read morethe teachers they are absolutely amazing, however if there are issues in the classroom the director does not remedy the situation in the proper manner. Their handbook states : BEHAVIOR POLICY It is our goal to provide a safe and nurturing environment at GCP. We work together with parents to help children develop inner controls to develop appropriate social behavior. Teachers use positive reinforcement, and redirection, along with instruction in classroom rules and the modeling of appropriate behavior and manners. Children are reminded of the school rules and encouraged to think of appropriate ways to express themselves. In order to keep children safe, GCP cannot allow hitting, pushing, shoving, biting, spitting, kicking or other aggressive behaviors that are harmful to a child themselves or to others. Multiple infractions can result in intervention by the Director and/or parents. If aggressive behavior continues, the preschool will request one or more of the following: 1. A parent may be called to pick up their child from preschool 2. A parent may be requested to accompany the child to school and remain in the classroom to prevent the aggressive behavior 3. Parent(s) may be asked to keep the child home until the behavior stops I can tell you from first hand experience that they do not follow their behaviour policy. My daughter had another child's hands around her neck, hair pulled, and snacks stolen by the same kid and to not deal with continuous weekly issues I had to move my daughter from that class to ensure it didn't continue. The director then told another parent, that the reason I had her moved was because I have "anxiety". She does not know how to talk with people and basically accused my daughter of saying one thing at home and another at school. This was an ongoing issues with other children in the class ... so we must all be lying? Due to all the issues we had we decided to pull her out for the 24-25 school year. They have a no refund policy for the deposit of $1000.00. We understood that there is a no refund policy however considering how they handled the situation, we asked to meet us half way. The response: "We do have a no refund policy unless it is an emergency ( death in the family, someone loses their job, a family moves away etc)." We asked to speak with board, a meeting was set up with the director and 2 individuals that were not members of the board. She must not understand that it is public record and I was able to find out who the president was and sent a certified letter to his home. All they provided was a "We would like to offer you our summer camp program free of charge." Well its not free of charge cause I gave you $1000.00 deposit. Beware of this preschool, many families have left and I'm sure all for good reason . They certainly do not follow their Christian values that they preach constantly.

At a very practical level, the hours are great and work very well with our work schedules. The teachers are very approachable and have been open to working with me with any concern I have had about my child. They have added new and fun things like spirit weeks, celebrating traditions from different cultures and religions and music jams. The communication has been excellent since there has been a new director. We are kept up to date with changes and how these changes are being addressed. When she enrolled last…read moreautumn, she had just turned 3, was still in pull-ups and had been pulled out of a Manhattan Montessori pre-k because in my husband's and my opinion, there was no progression or growth. In just 2 weeks at Harrison Children's Center, she was potty trained and by the end of that first month her vocabulary had trebled and continues to do so. The teachers, TAs and office staff could not have been more wonderful and supportive of my daughter and me during our transition from city to suburban life. In addition to a great nurturing environment, my daughter benefited from a curriculum and staff that really challenged and stretched her developing mind and growing set of social and life skills. The staff arranges class trips and family nights and the children go out for daily walks and there is outside play in their fenced-in and fully supervised playground almost everyday except in bad / rainy weather. The school serves cold breakfasts and hot lunches prepared by an in-house cook. My daughter has learned art, science, music, sign language and so much more. It's been a year now and I can honestly say that I have absolute trust in these people with the most precious person in my life. There is nothing bad to be said about this program or the fantastic team of people who work in making it all happen. Kudos to Debbie Imperia, the Director of HCC for her unflagging support for this mom with a daughter who manages to delight those around her even while trying their patience! And a special shout-out must go to Kamala Carducci for calming my fears, taking my (many) calls and showing me the ropes of suburban daycare.

We felt incredibly lucky to secure a spot, as Little Genius is such a highly sought-after program--and it truly lived up to its reputation. My son absolutely loved his time there. A few years later, we were fortunate enough to enroll our daughter shortly after she turned one. We had complete peace of mind knowing she was in such caring and capable hands under Ms. Sammi's guidance. She has learned so much and genuinely enjoys going to school each day. I always looked forward to the weekly projects she proudly brought home, as well as the festive Christmas performances. Ms. Sammi does an exceptional job communicating with parents, often sharing sweet moments and photos that brighten my day. It's clear how much love, attention, and dedication she and her team give to each child. It's hard to believe that three years have already flown by and that my daughter will soon be graduating. I'm confident she is more than ready for pre-K and will continue to thrive. While it's bittersweet that we won't be seeing the wonderful staff at Little Genius every day, I'm sure we'll stay in touch. We are so grateful for the care, support, and love shown to our children--it truly means everything to our family.

Our child has been enrolled in over 3 years now and tells us that they would love to go during the weekends. They have made a loving impact on the one person I care about and to me, that is all I can ask for. Mikey is a great mascot that the children love to play with during drop-off an pick-up. Alex is also very caring and helpful during all hours and days of the week. They have also supported us during stressful times, especially COVID. They stayed operational while other daycares closed for months. This was greatly needed, as we are full-time working parents and Alex and Mikey made us feel safe with leaving our child. We have no idea what we would have done if they had been closed. I cannot stress enough how amazing this place is. Love SCDC!!!

Hope that parent has good luck to find another place suits her needs. According to my experience, the director Alex is very professional and responsible on her work. I think She manages the daycare very well. My children both started from toddler and I'm very happy with the teachers here too. The children have breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack in the daycare. So I don't have to pack lunch for them. Also, they are less picky here than they are home. They learn letters, numbers and sciences during morning. After lunch, they take a nap. Usually their teachers spend a lot time and energy to sooth them so they can fall asleep (if you ever try to put a young child to sleep, you know what effort that takes). I really appreciate the teachers' patience. Generally speaking, I'm very happy with the daycare and highly recommend it to all my friends.
