Man came.to the locked door & very sternly told me he'd show me the sanctuary very quickly as he had other things to do! I explained that I'd made trip from over an hr away to take photos of sanctuary because I'd been told how beautiful they were. I was taken to sanctuary & he stood up front w arms folded across his chest & it was nearly impossible to get photos without him in them. Abt 5 min later he asked I was done because he had other things to do. I apologized for bothering him but came during stated hrs on site. This is NOT the kind of impression they'd want - & I notified the staff! Staff was apologetic & sd if I returned they'd be glad to let me in... nice but already been.

Today the church was celebrating communion Pentecost. I like the rituals as I feel like I'm traveling back to the early days of when Christian churches in Europe were around more like the Catholics but without the guilt. I tend to visit other denominations such as Lutheran Methodist Adventist etc. To find a church that I can attend regularly thanks to our lord for each and every day that we live. If you are new to the Dunwoody area or looking for a church in this area I would recommend this church as a small Church for the friendly congregation and knowledgeable ministry. They are constantly making improvements. Northlands is a non-denominational church. Everyone is welcome there, and there is no thought if discrimination whatsoever, no matter where you have been or what you have done in your life. In each service, after a warm welcome from the Pastor, there is an awesome worship session. They have a full band and top of the line sound equiptment, as well as three projectors running in-sync on three big screens with the words I'd you don't know them. The music is always up beat and gets you on your feet where you can't help but to dance along. After that, the Pastor teaches a lesson directly from the bible, and has a great way if breaking it down stupid simple so everyone can understand and take something from it. The church is based on, and provides constant focus on God's grace, and teaches against the ideas if some organized religions where you get to heaven based on your works, or following "the laws" of religion. If you believe, there is great power within the people of this church. There is a team of people there who will pray with you, and for you, over any issue that may be ailing you. Since our family has been going there, our lives have improved drastically, and we truly believe in the power of prayer. We have made some good friends, and everyone treats you like family. We feel at home whenever we are there. I personally welcome each and every one of you as my guest, and look forward to seeing you there!

While people are not unfriendly, it does tend to be cliqueish by nature, and you may feel a little out of place if you haven't been raised in an ethnic environment. If you just want to attend mass in a peaceful setting with no parking problems, (and that's a big plus these days), this is the place for you. But if you want to fit into a core group, that may be a bit more challenging. There is heavy emphasis on food fund-raisers where lots of help is needed in the kitchen, and if you aren't a traditional homemaker, this may also be an isolating factor.
