On Wednesdays they have baby time at 11am and I believe at 10am as well. Baby time last for 20-30 minutes and they are lead by very engaging and sweet story time tellers. We do sign language, sing songs, do hand games, and read stories. The babies love it. And then afterwards we usually go to the play area in the back. Not every library in this county has one. She enjoys playing with the other babies and we also read books in the children's library. Customer service is always amazing. Everyone is so nice. And the place is always clean and has a lot of natural light. It's very refreshing coming here.

One worker asked me me what kind of dogs are those but mind you this is the very first person I talked to when i first visited the library. So I told her for the 20th time they are service animals, she proceeds to say well what kind of support do they provide. Its none of your business and I guess she got mad, next thing I know I'm surrounded by 5 library employees. Did they want to try to intimidate me. That's what I took it as. To me it was threating and I'm going to look into a law suit. Racism is very much load and clear and still going on, There are homeless people that come here to cool down because its so hot outside. One man(white) kept laughing real loud and getting up every 5min. Nothing was said to him another lady(white) brought her dog in. the dog was in a tote bag and I didn't see any of the library staff running up to her asking her what kind of dog is that. Is it only indigenous people that you bagger? I didn't know you could bring your lunch to the library and eat it right in the open. A guy(white) was eating his Publix chicken bites and fries and a cherry coke right out in the open. NO ONE said anything. To me that's racism right in the open and they don't hide it. DONT LET IT HAPPEN AGAIN!!!!

They also have plenty events for children. They have a snack and "break area". This location also stays later than most in the Riverview, Brandon, Apollo Beach area. They have multiple rooms that we frequently use for my neighborhood homeowners associate meetings. We have used the Art Studio for a meeting. It has local art (also throughout the entire library) and children art. When using that room it's long tables with various type of chairs and obviously, paint supplies off to the side but out the way when it comes to meeting time. We have also used the Community Room. This meeting room has a divider to adjust for small and large groups. This room has a more professional setting and the space to rearrange if need be. My only complaint is for the entire Hillsborough County Library. When reserving a room, you will never speak with an employee. The process is pretty inconvenient. You call and leave a voicemail, and they'll contact you back in the order of all their voicemails. If they can not hear your number you left in the voicemail clearly, you will not get a call back. The turn around time is usually within a week. There is also an email process.

The new reservation system does encourage being proactive and nips procrastination in the bud though and it has computers, books you looking for for class and in general, everything you need to be successful in academia.

I LOVE this library! My son is homeschooling, so we decided to get a library card for him. I saw…read morethat this location had a "children's room" which is perfect for sitting down and reading to your kids, studying the globes, using the computers they provide for educational programs and so much more, without having to worry about your kids being "too loud." We went to this location just for him, and enjoyed the entire visit! My son and I felt really safe because there was a deputy stationed at the entrance right when you walk in. We will be trying to visit once a week now that we've discovered this location! We would love to see more hands on educational material, (like the globes) because we don't own things like that at home, and it gave us an opportunity to learn about the different continents in 3D instead of flat on a map! Lastly, they had little free craft envelopes and we were able to grab one on our way out, which I thought was AWESOME! My son really enjoyed making his butterfly!

One of my favorite places near my home.  I am here every few days picking up or dropping off books…read moreand DVDs.  I was so happy when the county built this beautiful library in Seffner.   Close enough for me to ride my bike and a rack is provided near the door.  Inside there are three self checkout stations which make it very easy to get in and out quick.  Use the online system and you receive an email when your requested items are ready.  So convenient.  We pay for this service in our taxes and I don't understand why more people don't use the library.  I've been a library user since I was a child and encourage everyone to visit, check out a book, and READ!  Seffner friends of the library group holds quarterly sales of used books and wow you can get great deals.  Getting a library card is easy.  Just take a piece of mail with your address and your ID to the librarian and complete the form.

The Lutz Branch Library is located right beside the old Lutz train station. It shouldn't shock…read moreanyone that this library is decorated with historical and railroad memorabilia. Each bookshelf, at least in the children's section, has a train carved into their side. I love the character, the uniqueness and the community connection that each of the libraries in the Hillsborough Collective have. I guess that is one of the benefits of giving autonomy to each branches "friends of the library." They can make the branch into what their community needs. As far as the library itself goes, the Lutz version is pretty small and cramped probably due to its age. It has a lot less space than some of the other branches. This isn't helped by the fact that the windows in here, save for some of the corner ones, are tiny and let in little light. This gives the Lutz Branch Library more of an old school elementary library feel. There are a few tables set up that have children's puzzles and activities for the little ones which gives them something to do while mommy or daddy or grandma looks for books. The humidity, especially in the community room where toddler time is located, is strong and it makes things a bit musty. I really like the version of toddler time that this branch puts on. It is very engaging and includes literacy concepts, book reading, music, arts and bubbles. It is also a bit smaller and more intimate than some of the other ones which allows my daughter to participate better. My motto for this branch of the Hillsborough Collective: If the train should jump the track do you want your humidity back?

Like the non-headquartered libraries of the Tampa area, this library can fit about 10 elephants…read morewithout them feeling cramped-- anymore and we'd have a problem. On the other hand, this library is small, cute, and has lots of charm... who goes to the library for books nowadays anyway? Located next to busy HWY 41, a tiny train station, train sculpture made of bricks, and an arched bridge covered in flowers decorate the building's outside. Inside there's books (DUH)-- but the fiction and nonfiction together make a total of 8 aisles! Of course, there's DVD's, computers (around 20 internet machines), a kids area... I've never seen an entire aisle dedicated to romance novels. Now I know where to go when I'm lonely at night. It seems like the older ladies who work here were either Disney cast members or professional grandmas before... they seem to know EVERYBODY! They were so happy to help a young blood like me. Pyra says: Never busy so you can hog the internet, but not lots of books.
