Thankfully, the lid wasn't an issue, and Bill was able to tune up the piano and straighten up a crooked hammer. The whole process took about an hour and cost less than I expected. (He charged me $150, which I thought was very reasonable.) Bill also didn't visibly judge my messy house crammed with sports gear and kids toys.
