Considering how many times I've been to this place, it's surprising that I am just now getting…read morearound to reviewing it. I lived in Asia for a few years and really developed an addiction for these private room karaoke joints while I was there so when I got back to the US I was SO THRILLED to find a Korean style Karaoke club here in Greensboro. I actually had my bachelorette party here because we always have so much fun. If you are unfamiliar with the premise, you basically rent a room (size determined by how many people are in your group) and pay per hour. You can always add more time on later if you underestimate how much time you'll want. There is a keyboard that allows you to search for English karaoke songs on youtube OR you can use the pre-loaded videos/song book. Most of these are in Korean but they do have a few pages of English classics. (If you are looking for specific songs, it is best to use the youtube option). They sell drinks and snacks but the drink options aren't great- a few different beers and smirnoff wine coolers/juices- which is the big reason why I give this place 4 stars instead of 5 (you used to be able to bring your own drinks- those were the days!). It is located in the international mall on West Market st, so it's a bit of a struggle to find it and you have to go down a weird creepy hallway to find the bathrooms, but there is always ample parking and they are open pretty late so it's a great place to go after getting a few drinks elsewhere. If you've never been, it is definitely worth trying at least once. I will definitely be back, hopefully in the near future.

They are seasonal so they had an apple smoked old fashioned which was delicious and a whole experience as they bring it in a container with the smoke in it 10/10 recommend! They have a yummy spicy orange margarita and really good non alcoholic drinks that taste like alcoholic drinks! Service was great! Our server had really good suggestions and was attentive and up front with items that where not available.

When I first reviewed this Downtown Roanoke Restaurant, I focused on their drinks and food. But…read morethis time around I couldn't help it to discover why this place is the center of Roanoke's night life. After being awarded the Triad Yelper of the Year 2024 Award at the Yelpies Award Ceremony last year, an event that honored the highest-performing Yelp Elites, I decided that it would be appropriate this year to go back to this restaurant and write a follow-up review, since my initial review was one of my reviews that contributed to me obtaining this highly esteemed Award. I arrived on a Thursday evening with a 6:15pm reservation which I'm glad I had made because later I found out that this place gets to be a full house on Thursdays. A young lady host greeted and welcomed me at the Host's station as soon as I arrived. She checked my reservation and had my table all ready for me. Located in the middle of this very popular Restaurant Bar, gave me a nice view of the entire place, and with a light high above I had a perfect lighting to photograph my drink and food as part of my review of the place. My server Jillian arrived soon after I was seated. She had a wonderful personality and welcomed me with a friendly smile and very pleasant attitude. After answering me some questions about their Mocktails, I ended up ordering their Raspberry Burro. For dinner I ordered their BBQ Bacon Chicken Kababs with a side of their special fries and a salad. While I was waiting for my food to arrive I observed the place quickly filling up and I found out that tonight was Music Bingo and Live Music at 9:30pm with no cover charge. It brought me back to my college days in Boston and Cambridge, Massachusetts, where the night life was a thing to look forward to. Suddenly I discovered the key of Martin's popularity and the important role it plays in contributing to making the City of Roanoke a Star City indeed. I enjoyed my drink and the Chicken Kababs with the side of special fries were amazingly delicious, as well as the salad. They have a good variety of quality items on their menu and their chefs amazingly deliver. I invite you to read my first review where I celebrate their Cuban Sandwich and Slaw, and view my photographs that accompany my review. What a night. Besides the food, I enjoyed playing the Music Bingo, which one of the card titles was The 1970's. One of the best years of my life, when I attended High School in San Juan, Puerto Rico and College in Boston and Cambridge, Massachusetts. During that time I also won a Saltwater Fishing Tournament at the young age of 17 by catching a 405 pound Blue Marlin off the coast of Isla Verde, Puerto Rico. It was the best of times for me. My server Jillian provided exceptional customer service, checking on me at the appropriate times. For dessert I ordered their Glazed Doughnut Bread Pudding, and it was so good, I can't wait to return to have it again. What an extraordinary dining experience I had that night. I highly recommend this restaurant and bar for when you feel like having a good time, alone or with family and good friends. I promise you will be able to sabor what a Five Star review is all about, and experience for yourselves why Martin's is one of the City of Roanoke's most precious gems.

Every surface is grimy to the touch. Food and trash under every table despite it being middle of the afternoon and during a slow time. Several employees rushing around, never really standing still but yet a lot not getting done. Usually during slow times the tables are being wiped down, floors swept, and silverware rolled. As there was approximately one employee per table in the dining room, I can't say they were overworked. Our waiter was very rushed, although he only had the two tables. He was helping carry out food and drinks for the other waitresses, so he never slowed down moving. This also meant that he left before taking our complete order, never asked what dressings or sides we wanted with our dinners, and never answered our questions. I got the ribs and wanted the sweet BBQ but got the Asian sauce instead. I got a whole 6 fries for my side and a tiny sauce cup of coleslaw that ended up being soured. When I told our waiter, he just grabbed the cup and said "yeah sorry" as he walked away. The ribs were actually pretty meaty, just a bit dry which is to be expected at that time of day, just disappointing when added to the wrong sauce. The one good bit of the meal was the tea was excellent. Not overbrewed and with plenty of sugar to satisfy any southern grandma. For roughly $35 a person, very overpriced, overrated, and disappointing.

The vibe just feels off now and what once felt welcoming and authentic feels more exclusive and self-important. :( The service is especially disappointing. You can stand at the counter forever waiting for someone to even acknowledge you. Basic hospitality goes a long way, and it's frustrating when staff can't even acknowledge you with a simple "we will be with you shortly" or even offer a simple smile. There's an attitude from some of the front-of-house staff that comes across like they've "arrived" and are above basic customer service. Floyd has always been about community and authenticity, and it's disappointing to see a place that once embodied that lose sight of what made it special.

Glad there is somewhere to go downtown to dance to non-country music! you have to walk into the dance area to get to the restroom (just like Joyners) but the inside has a dark vibe with some tables that light up and the alcohol wall at the bar is a masterpiece. There are seats behind the DJ table and I'm not sure why that area isn't used; the whole building can probably hold 60 people dancing at the same time. But all-in-all, it's a lively place, and yes, it gets happening after midnight, as to be expected when there is a DJ in the house. Just walk to Euphoria after you see a show at Ramkat or Wise Man and dance till dawn! (not really but at least 2am)
