The price and packages were good. They had daily specials in addition to smaller single protein options. They had all yhe seafood fare including dungeons. I felt it was a decent price point for the experience. It also came out quick. The drink menu was vast, too. We ordered the weekend special in juicey and mild. It was very saucy but lacked flavor depth. I did taste and see the seasoning on the peices of corn tough. So, I know it was seasoned. I'm not sure what was used as a base. It didn't taste like butter. We tried the onion rings and mini crab cake (balls). The onion rings were lightly fried but still good. I usually prefer them darker. I still enjoyed the bite. Now, those crab cake (balls) were bomb. They were surprisingly good. I was so apprehensive when they were placed down. I was expecting a traditional crab cake. They were coated and fried but generously seasoned and oh so moist. They were delectable on their own but the sauce elevated them tremendously as I love sweet and spice. So cute, loved the decor. I took my Mom for her 70th bday to Danville, VA, to the new Casears Place Casino and we were told about this restaurant. We were seated and our server was Azariah who was a mannerable, super professional and courteous young lady. We ordered peach and mango margaritas along with oysters for an appetizer. We decided on the lobster, crab and shrimp boils for our entrees and added 1/2 lbs of crawfish to mine and clams to my Mom's boil. The food and service was AMAZING!! Was just traveling through and stopped in for takeout. The restaurant is in a strip mall type building but was clean, open, modern and well decorated. Fish hanging from the wall, lights, a full bar. Staff was friendly and the food was hot when I picked it up. They give you moist hand towels which was very nice considering I was eating on the go. The boom boom shrimp (not to be confused with bang bang shrimp) were large and fried golden brown but the sauce wasn't really my favorite and not very sweet, it could have used more bang than boom in my opinion. The corn on the cob was in a 2 gallon ziploc bag which was hilarious but it worked and the corn was good seasoned "'medium" even though it might be frozen school lunch corn cobs. Dinner in a bag! Obviously a long while that is was on a steamtable. The crab legs were no better than what you get at Food Lion. Could not Crack them, they ripped apart like tissue paper. What little bit of salty meat in the shell was NOT worth the effort! I would think the Red "Crab" would have crabs but only in season in the summer. Our family was in Danville, Va for our second Martin Family Reunion so the last night there we went to the Red Crab for late dinner. Our waitress Shy was wonderful !!! We arrived at 9:30 pm and the restaurant closed at 11 pm The place was not crowded so we thought our food would be quick well it wasn't. It took at least an hour to get our food and Shy kept checking and apologizing. She said at 9:30 pm the kitchen stops making food and serve what is left which I thought was weird we also asked for some kind of discount but that wasn't happening. I don't know who the owner or manager was because no one came to talk to us. The crab legs were good but the service not so good. We won't be eating at this location again. We received excellent service and the food was okay but we were given 2 pair of crackers when 4 people ordered crab legs. Apparently, the restaurant doesn't provide them anymore because people were stealing them. Now the servers have to provide them. Really, a restaurant that specializes in crab legs can't afford to provide the utensils needed to eat them? As a former server, I'm appalled that a restaurant would require an employee who relies on gratuities for income to absorb THEIR cost of doing business while customers are providing most of the server's wages. More than likely never eating here again. I was excited for this place when the news first broke that it was coming to Danville. I definitely waited a long time to come after initially opening so I expected all of the kinks to be worked out, but that was not the case. My wife and I walked in at a normal dinner hour on a Saturday night and it was busy but not "line out the door" busy. There is a small host stand and no one was there so we waited a few minutes but no one showed up. Finally I asked a girl at the to-go counter if we wait for someone to seat us or we just seat ourselves. She said someone would be right with us but it would be about 15 minutes before we could be sat and we acknowledged that we were okay with that. Then to my surprise the same girl walked over to the host stand and got our menus and led us to a table right away. Weird right? Almost like they were trying to shoo us away by telling us it was a longer wait than it was. After being sat it took a little longer than a normal sit-down restaurant for our server to come to our table for the first time, but we were able to look at the menu and know what we wanted in that time so that's alright. We were also able to take a look around the restaurant to see the cheesy beach décor, which my wife thought was funny. Another thing we noticed was that the entire staff, or at least 75% of it, was aged around 18-22 years old. I am not immediately saying that there's anything wrong with that but you could tell most of them had little to no experience working in a restaurant and this was their first job. When our waitress came to take our order she was sweet, but again it didn't seem like she had much experience in her position. I ordered the Oyster Po-Boy with fries and my wife ordered a Caesar Salad to which our waitress asked her "do you want ranch on that?" She clearly didn't know, or wasn't trained to know, what the menu items even are. We got our food and immediately we noticed that the $6 Caesar Salad entrée was about the size of a normal side salad at any other restaurant. I should've know from the price but we were both still disappointed by the amount of food for a salad entrée. My oyster po'boy was pretty good but the bread tasted old and very dry. We also came here because of a coupon for a free appetizer in which we got the fried calamari and that was pretty average as well. Overall not a great experience and unless something changes in the quality of service here we will not be coming back. read more

This was our second trip to Red Crab and it was as delicious as the first. The first time we had the crab legs and shrimp which were cooked perfectly and the seasoning was good enough to drink. This time we went for the raw oysters, they were great, fresh and big!! My son had the shrimp po boy that made want to get that next time. We had a party of 9 and they easily accommodated us, this place is big!! But the best thing is that it was Karaoke night (Mondays) and I cannot say enough good things about the DJ, the selection and the set up. I am a big karaoke fan from way back in the 90's and this setup was great and super fun to sing on. If you are looking for a good place to karaoke Mondays from 6-9, it's a fun time. Hasn't been open long but long enough for me to go ahead and pay a visit. The decor is very hip and fits the restaurant perfectly. Very clean and welcoming. The staff was very friendly and nice as we did have a bit of a wait which is understandable under the current situation. Our server was Casey and she was very informative and attentive even though she was very busy, I didn't feel like I wasn't being taken care of. They have an asset with her and hopefully they will recognize her work ethic and promote her. The food was just as I expected and I must say I haven't had seafood like this since I left the gulf coast of Texas and Louisiana. The crab legs were cooked perfect as well as the crawfish. I chose the Cajun sauce and then had them make it hot. I'll probably do extra hot next time but they also have mild and no heat for the little girls of the world. They also give you gloves, bib and wet wipes and that was a life saver. I'd say the price is fair for the portions. The only issue I noticed was both sinks in the men's room were draining very slow and I had to wash my hands quick to keep it from over flowing. Real pricey! My meal was served in a plastic bag. They expected me to cut and eat my meal with a cheap plastic fork. Couldn't get sides with my meal unless I ordered two items, but I only wanted one.
