Improving the UNREASONABLE COSTS would be a good start. And have a little compassion. Our little kitty has a broken leg. Now this is a KITTEN. I've never seen a vet have this much difficulty setting and immobilizing a broken leg as these people. They, (first off) can't splint the leg securely. Having taken the kitten in for the THIRD TIME to take care of him, ay $85.00 a visit, putting his care into the OVER $1,000 DOLLAR RANGE, We noticed a very small abrasion on his leg from the splint that they can't get to stay on. The tech called in the DOCTOR to evaluate it without asking us if we want to spend even more. This was $50.00 just to peek at it and not do anything about it (as it was a simple abrasion) yet the $50 charge was inflicted upon us. They then told us that if they can't get the bone stabilized and healed they would suggest AMPUTATION of this poor kittens leg and told us it would ONLY BE ABOUT $800. We've take other pets there for a variety of reasons and ALWAYS LEAVE FEELING MONETARILY VIOLATED. So we figure that this over $1,200.00. I'm a retired vet and work in health care and was also an Army Medic. My wife was an E.R. Nurse for 26 years for the Dept of Defense. We understand how minor this injury is and we can't afford that. They want to load the bill so much that in the end (if they could have it their way) the cost would be close to $2,000.00 to cut the poor kitty's leg off and they wouldn't even blink. BUT.. like most veterinarians, they know that humans are suckers for their loved pets and they will bend you over for a much as they can. If you want to eat, stay away from this Vet. read more

I brought my 5-year-old healthy dog here after noticing his stomach was a little distended. He wasn't in pain, his abdomen wasn't hard, but he was clearly uncomfortable. We drove in from the Springs and before anyone even looked at him, the staff immediately started talking about prices and payment. I couldn't afford the long list of tests they pushed (ultrasounds, additional bloodwork, and more). After sitting there from 6 PM until 10:30 PM, all they did was run one blood test and then told me my dog was dying -- throwing out terms like cancer, internal bleeding, liver failure, and saying he'd be gone within 48 hours. They heavily implied euthanasia. Well, here we are 72 hours later, $400 wasted, and my dog is absolutely fine -- turns out he just needed to pass a bowel movement. As both a farm hand and a vet tech, I can say with confidence this felt like fear-mongering, not veterinary care. I left feeling like they wanted me to put my dog down rather than deal with a simple issue. Do not take your pets here. read more

We brought our beloved dog in for an emergency, which led to the heartbreaking realization that he was dying. We spent hours in the ER, and not once were we offered the chance to keep him with us during that time. In my state of shock, I didn't think to insist--something I deeply regret now. I nearly had a panic attack listening to the doctor itemize bloodwork like it was a checklist. I strongly feel I would not take your pet here and I have really thought about it. To the staff who may read this: energy doesn't lie. If you choose to be around people in these moments, please hold loving thoughts in the space, no matter what you personally believe. Since our visit, I've learned that this clinic has a reputation in the local community for being profit-driven, and there have been past experiences of racial bias. That made our experience make more sense--it wasn't just an off day, but part of a deeper pattern of disconnection. I also wanted to bring our dog home to let him pass there, and the veterinarian informed me that I would not be able to find services on a Saturday, which is a lie. We feel it--your presence, your energy, your projections. And in such a sacred, painful moment, it was hard to feel this energy. I should not have to hold space for that. Had a pretty bad experience recently with this clinic. We have taken several of our animals there in the past and haven't had an issue. We have spent thousands of dollars there on surgeries and treatment. They have really gone downhill. Took our cat in that was having an issue. They recommended bloodwork, which was fine, but sold me on this $200+ senior package deal that included the bloodwork needed, urine test, fecal exam. Our cat is 18 years old and was already stressed. They were able to get the blood and run all of those tests but did not get any urine and did not even mention the fecal test. I saw the package included a fecal and urine and asked if they could take the cost of those tests off the price since they didn't do them. I spoke with the office manager who also spoke with the regional manager, and they refused any sort of discount or refund. The cat has already been diagnosed based on the bloodwork, why would I bring these other samples in? Why would I stress my cat out more? Why wouldn't you just give me a credit or something? I asked if they would give a $20 credit since that is the cost of the medicine that my cat will be on and they refused. Ridiculous customer service. read more

Our Giant Schnauzer gets very professional and attentive care from the entire staff at this clinic regardless of the location. She is six now, and has received treatment since she was a puppy. This visit was to treat a knee injury incident after chasing rabbits in our back yard in the snow and ice, and the rabbits won. Fortunately, some anti-inflammatory medication restricted play time and she will be good as new. This great team of doctors has repaired both of my girl's ACL's in the past, so she gets the best of care here, and they ensure she has a happy and healthy life. Our cat was brought into Urgent Care for vomiting blood and explosive, bloody diarrhea. They did bloodwork and documented that they didn't do the platelet count correctly and therefore could not get an accurate count. Our cats count was 46, while the lower numbers on the "safe" scale do not go below 600. They documented that it wasn't a good draw and instead of repeating the test to get accurate numbers. They felt this was acceptable. Platelet count shows if the blood is clotting, a number that would be important with how my cat was presenting. This was after they sent the cat home, hypersalivating from nausea and bleeding from a "sanitary shave" that left him torn apart and bleeding. I had also been overcharged for medications by over 200 dollars. I had previously called to discuss this and had to call multiple times due to Jessica (the manager) refusing to return calls. After finally discussing the last issue of the bloodwork, I informed her that we would be filing charges with DORA. She told me that she would discuss the situation with the owner and return my call. Instead, she called the police and tried to have them intimidate me into leaving them alone. Jessica is now facing multiple charges in court and will be held accountable. All this in an attempt to get my cat safe. read more

I brought my dog in for some testing to determine if he was struggling with an undiagnosed illness, or worse, and, aside from the friendly receptionist, was treated as if I was an idiot by the on-duty doctor. Every question I asked was either greeted with a smirk (you stupid peasant), ignored outright, or just talked over. After $700 worth of tests, you read that right, I still didn't have any answers and was repeatedly told I should go to another clinic. I was told this before the labs had even been processed. Basically felt like being told "we just don't want to deal with it, but we'll take your money". The doctor emailed me a week or two later explaining her "findings", but as of this review posting I've still NOT received any of the lab paperwork after several email requests. I was able to get the copies of his X-rays, but that's it. I guess I'm just supposed to take your $700ish word for it right? This place feels like the TSA of local vet clinics. If you enjoy being disrespected, talked down to & leaving with more questions than answers then buddy this is the place for you. Came here for many years. Not anymore. VA today was a really snappy, snippy and sarcastic. OVERPRICED in my opinion it was ALSO really crappy to plan to do all the things on their 'estimate' to my dog that day. She's older and yeah, not in perfect health. I sore foot turned from XRAYS, to an eye exam (which they've swabbed her for 3 times, I guess I should pay to do it again, even though it was NEGATIVE last time.) to having to be and needing another 400 dollars in labs. $1200 and let's do all this work. The last time I got talked into all the work there, NOTHING. Nothing wrong, here's a bill and some pills. In the end they ended up putting my cat down after $1300 in appointments and them couldn't seem to figure it out. They just tortured my cat in my opinion. VETS office that cannot seem to handle a dog. That was part of the charge I was getting today, sedating my dog. Yes, she's big and kind of aggressive, not every dog is a total sweetheart. Been here many times, didn't need that before. be able to handle animals if you are going to care for them. Not sure I would trust them to take care of a dead fish. GET A BIGGER TANK FOR YOUR CICHLIDS. read more

I wish I could give this place negative stars my experience here was so bad. I brought my senior dog here as he was violently throwing up and unable to keep anything down. Obviously at this point I was very worried/scared. The person assisting us was AWFUL. She was rude when answering any questions and seemed annoyed that we were even there looking for help for my dog. The worst part was she very flippantly said "We'll if the anti-nausea medicine doesn't work you'll have to bring him elsewhere for an ultrasound as he likely has a tumor and is cancerous. She made an already stressful situation 1000x worse. Pet parents, I highly recommend you bring your animal ANYWHERE else. read more

I'm a veterinarian assistant in training and this vet practice broke the veterinarian oath. I took my dog Scooby to this vet clinic due to he ate something out in my yard and was having some symptoms from it. so they did an exploratory surgery to see if anything was there. they cut him from chest bone to penis and found a lipoma on his stomach. after telling them to remove it because he was already there and to make things easier for him in the future. instead they closed him up and lied to me saying they took it out when they didn't. (I took him to his personal veterinarian clinic and they did xrays.) so I called them and asked why they didn't take it out? they said they did but that it was on his front right leg instead of his stomach. here's where everything went south. when there is a removal of anything there will be an incision at the site of removal and stitches closing such incision up. there was no incision or stitches on any of his legs. at this point I took him to my primary vet and they said there was no signs of removal of said lipoma. This is malpractice and in ways negligence. !DO NOT GO HERE. THEY WILL LIE TO MAKE A PROFIT OFF OF YOU! In the long run I've had to spend around 5000$ for this said removal. then another 5000$ to fix what they did to him. I highly recommend going to Crossroads Animal Hospital instead they are friendly and honest and my pup has been treated so much better! My Dog gets a lot of ear infections, especially during the summer. Before I moved to CO the vet gave me a prescription bottle to deal with that. This facility wants to see him every time he gets an ear infection (all for the money). The Vet didn't have a good explanation why she wouldn't fill it either. It's ear treatmen, not narcotic. This place is absolutely amazing. Having to visit an emergency vet is a terrifying experience for a pet owner. We had driven almost 2 hours from Buena Vista with our senior Chihuahua who had a foot injury back to Colorado Springs because it was the nearest city with Emergency Vet hospitals. After being turned away by several other places in the area (it being about 10:00pm at this point) we called Tender Care to see if they could help us and they were not only prompt and accommodating but kind and empathetic to our situation. The entire staff turned around a rather scary experience for us and helped ensure our old boy was in great shape. Couldn't be more grateful for these people and this facility. read more

I would highly recommend against this vet. My wife and I took our four dogs here for several years, and eventually discontinued care at this vet. There were a few issues with the medical care and administrative services, which lead to a 1 star review from me with no comment. I was contacted by Tender Care regarding the review, but I was unable to spend much time discussing with them as I was at work. Fast forward a year or so, and we decided to give their rehab side of the clinic a chance. See if things had improved or if that side of the clinic in general was better. However, when I contacted them I was informed our dogs were not welcome as patients any longer due to the review and me not "reaching back out to discuss the review". This is a tremendously disappointing stance to take as a business, however not an unexpected one from Tender Care. Again, highly recommend against this clinic due to their medical service, administrative service, and overall bad clinical behavior. Reviewing the response I got from Tender Care, makes this situation even worse. First, I am not Chelsea (could just look at the name you replied to...) Second, you hope you have a chance to serve me and my pets again? How would that occur exactly? If I could give 0 stars I would....what a dumpster fire of an establishment. I never give bad reviews because I'm a pretty understanding person and I get that places get busy and things happen...however this place had THE WORST customer service I have ever witnessed. NO communication, NO respect and NO empathy for the emergency that we had going on with our very young puppy. I genuinely hope that the ladies who work up front realize that our puppy almost died due to their lack of consideration for us. Not to mention the attitude that they had with us despite us being very patient and polite. I have never met a more unfriendly front desk staff. I had called to make an appointment weeks earlier. Come day of the appointment, the older lady receptionist yelled over the other girl to tell me they had booked the wrong appointment and could not see one of my dogs. They are the ones that booked it!! Despite having already brought both dogs to the appointment for no reason, I decided to go ahead and proceed with with appointment for the one they had booked correctly. Then came the other issues.... We have been to this vet before, yet, they kept hammering me the whole time I was there for her shot records. We had already given them to them and they lost them! Their lack of accurate record keeping is astounding!! Not to mention, they kept one of the papers so, those records are now lost forever. The old lady receptionist was giving me dirty glances the entire time I was in the waiting room. She was so hostile, she would have been reason enough for me not to go back. When we were finally seen over 30 minutes later, they did the necessary procedure. However, their lack of communication afterward was unacceptable. They never reached out with the test results or any follow-up whatsoever. This place is a waste of time and money. Take your pets somewhere else. read more

The vet and the rehab tech I saw there were great. The invoicing was a problem and kept getting rejected by my pet insurance so I had to keep asking for a revised format to the invoices. Jessica, the director emailed me and accused me of asking them to falsify the invoices. Astounded. Jessica and I had a conversation to which she said she was not willing to adjust the format for me for one last invoice and that we were no longer welcome there. She had adjusted them twice before so I could get reimbursed! I guess one more was just past the envelope:) There is no customer service any more so they are just part the current environment. Found a great rehab place that is even better so I guess things work out for a reason. Now they are dragging their feet in getting me my refund for work they have not done. read more

I took him in to Tender Care and everyone was sympathetic and so helpful while we worked up what was wrong. I was worried but everyone was so kind. Initially we thought he just needed some anti-nausea support, but I was also told additional signs to watch for that would mean he needed more treatment. So the next morning, when he wouldn't eat anything and was still very lethargic and nauseated, I knew he needed a recheck. Thankfully, they were able to support him passing a large chunk of a recent treat (that I hadn't realized he had swallowed whole) with IV fluids and more nausea support. I really appreciated Dr. Willyard and Dr. McConnaughey for taking the time to explain the diagnostic results and giving me a treatment plan that wasn't overwhelming but still supporting my puppy's needs. Also, huge thanks to CVT Amber and Serena and all the staff who helped with handling and monitoring my exuberant pup. My puppy is feeling so much better and I am so thankful he's back home already. We brought our dog in for some urgent stitches (after leaving another ER with a 6 hr wait time) and they made the process fairly quick and took the time to make us and our dog feel comfortable. Chloe, the vet tech, deserves special thanks (and probably a raise) for going the extra mile and combing the burs out of his ears and trimming his nails during the procedure. Took my cat that had been throwing up repeatedly. After several tests, we were sent home and the cat was given an anti nausea shot. 3 call over 4 days were not returned. Finally reached someone during a snow storm (guess they are understaffed under Normal conditions). Was told I could pick up the Med in pill form. Went to get the prescription and was told it was OTC. Bought that at Walmart and it did nothing. Found out I was given wrong Med. Another vet determined he needed deworming. What happened to giving a cat a dewormer up front instead of after it keeps suffering as the vet charges you for expensive, needless testing?!! Run from this place! read more
