I just canceled our service today. My husband spent an hour and a half weeding the grass area of our backyard over the weekend and only got through half of it. Tender Lawn Care also forgot to treat area between sidewalk and curb. So tons of weeds there. The service started going downhill last year. So disappointing!!! read more

Pay attention to the name of this company. They only treat where you actually have LAWN today, and do not provide any services that help you grow a lawn where you might want one. They won't spray weed killer or fertilizer where you're TRYING to grow your lawn, yet they charge you based on the size of your lawn. Also note that their only services are spraying weed-killer and fertilizer. The technician we have had has done a mediocre job and seems more intent on getting it done fast rather than well. This is our first full year living here in the area. We used Turfmasters last year and to be honest it was because we were so busy with moving in and getting settled in and we saw them in the area. I'll save you a lot of time and tell you that it was more of a hassle than it should have been, especially since we are a customer and it felt like we were more of an "inmate" with them. Crystal from Tender Lawn Care was in contact with us from the moment I asked for a quote here on Yelp. Stayed in touch with me so that I understood when they were coming to visit and made sure I was aware of the process. Couldn't have been friendlier or more professional. They operate on a month to month basis. They don't pressure you into doing anything you don't feel is necessary, yet if we find we need help when the time comes- they will gladly assist. Today, Robert and Augustin came out to give us an estimate on the lawn services. We asked for a quote on the aeration and tree/shrub maintenance as well. They were in and out of here quickly and efficiently. I'm going to enjoy working with this company. Support small owned businesses. The customer service person or whoever answered the phone didn't connect me with someone who could advise my concern about my lawn. Instead, she wanted me to water my lawn and wait more. Even though my lawn was green, part of the front lawn was not getting green, and that was my problem. I am out of their service, and she told me they would not service my yard. I was a customer of Tender Lawn Care for over a decade, and was very happy with their service. They did a great job with my lawn, and gave good advice when I asked for it. Unfortunately, I am dropping a 5 star review down to a 3 star review because I was informed a few days ago that they are no longer going to service my area and I'm being unceremoniously dropped. Business circumstances change, and that is understandable. But when I called to ask if they could recommend another service, the person I talked to was of no help and seemed like she could not get off the phone fast enough. Tender Lawn care was spraying chemicals across the street from where I was cutting my grass. It was windy and chemical blew across street and got all over me including my eyes. Called office to complain, all I got from Manager is nothing has happened like my issue in 30 years in business. Man spraying did not seem to care that I was across the street and chemical was blowing toward me. read more

We did not have a good experience! They changed technicians on us after 3 years and then dropped us as clients since the tech felt that parking his truck on a very low traffic street was too dangerous. We always paid our bill for the full year and never complained. Then they sent us a refund with a letter "telling us to keep them in mind if we ever need any help! We would love the opportunity to provide you with a great looking lawn!" They obviously are confused and have their priorities wrong when it comes to the customer! read more

I took over my lawn care with this company after the previous owners used them. My first tech was great except for implying I don't know about weed control. He was still good at the lawn treatment. He took a different route and the new tech was horrible. He was very spacey and didn't listen, kept burning my lawn with the hose. Would write his notes on the steering wheel and it would honk randomly. He looked to be talking to himself a lot. When I signed up for the shrub program, he would spray all over the place and sling it around. The inside of my house smelled like herbicide for 3 days. I used them for over a year and they fired me as a customer for complaining about the tech's sloppy work. Good riddance, they were overpriced anyway. I got a company just as good for $25 cheaper per treatment. Sounds like Tender Lawn Care has gotten too big for their britches. read more

TLC is the third lawn care service I've used in five years. I learned about them when service was being performed at a neighbor's home. I had a long talk with the tech and signed up. Their service is a bit more expensive but worth every penny. I've struggled with memosa weed / Chamberbitter for all of this time. Finally, TLC has controlled it and every other weed in my yard. Finally I no longer have to pull the weeds I've been paying to have eliminated. read more

What an amazing transformation! Our yard seemed to be 40 percent weeds and poa annua. TLC came out and after only two treatments, our yard looks 100% better! No more patches of burned out poa annua and I haven't had to pull one weed out of the lawn since their first visit. During the initial consultation, their representative spent about 30 minutes on the phone with me answering all of my questions about cost, products and results. Very professional and reassuring. I have been a customer for 16 years.. overall the service was OK... not spectacular but they did enough to keep me as a customer. Recently, I was noticing brown patches in the junipers as did my neighbor in his bed. I was traveling and when I returned his bed look great .. he informed me that mites had infected his bed and he called True Green and with in 30 days all was well. Being a simple fix I called the "experts" at Tender Lawn care. They proceeded to tell me my bed needed " more "air flow" WHAT!! it has been fine for 16 years. In fact for a minute I thought I called an auto shop and we were discussing a engine!!. They suggested a solution spray which after 2 applications did not work. The cost was $150. After refusing to pay for services which did not work ..... and after 16 years as a customer they sent me to collections... wow.. not even an attempt to understand my concerns. What a shame to loose a long term relationship. If your considering a lawn service.. I would pass on tender lawn care they just don't care. read more

I have used them now for probably 10 + years. They really know how to clear up an issue, but how to keep it from coming back. That is key. They typically have the same team also manage your yard so they know it personally. Free service calls too if something pops up in between services. I highly recommend them. read more

I noticed the best yards in my neighborhood all had Tender Lawn Care signs so I called them after WeedMan did nothing for my yard. I'm pleased with the service I've received from Chris, and my interactions with the office have been pleasant and effective. I have no complaints. I'm glad it's no contract. Wish the service wasn't so expensive but I understand it's pretty standard market rate. Also wish they did my mulch beds but they said that requires different certification. read more

I have been a customer of Tender Lawn Care for 9 years. Their lawn care was ok and Misty-their customer service contact gave advance notices of aerations and service calls. However, today I got an email from them marked "urgent" and was told that they will no longer email my invoices to me. I travel A LOT so I need electronic invoicing. I was told in another email from Jeff- that emailing my invoice was a special service that they provided to just me and that their payment terms are 10 days with a $10 late fee. They issue the invoice a day in advance of their service visit and you have 10 days to pay it. I understood that they normally put the invoice in the homeowners mail box so a lot of effort went into emailing me my invoice. Apparently, my choice was to either pay a year's worth of service up front with a 5% discount or pay by credit card in advance. Not mentioned by Jeff, but my choice- or hire another provider. So Eek! Methinks not. It is 2017 and there is electronic invoicing, iPhone scanning apps that turn a photo of an invoice into a PDF and scanners that can make an invoice into an electronic file in literally seconds. Apparently, that is too much work for a long timer slacker customer like me. In addition, their 10 day payment term is not the standard 30 days. read more

We were using another service for lawn weeds, and they couldn't get rid of nuts edge or crabgrass. About 4 years ago we switched to Tender Lawn Care in the winter. It took most of the year, but they got these two tough weeds out of the lawn. Their service is good too. They will give you courtesy calls on the day before if you request it. Our lawn is weed free, and they are much more responsive than our old service. I highly recommend them for lawn weed control. read more
