PLAN ON spending 2 hours, there is so much to see! While I haven't been back home to Syracuse in over 5 years now, when I do go home I ALWAYS make a trip to Owego just to go to Hand of Man. Make sure to make the trip to Owego and check them out! My only wish for them are later hours, there are a lot of times I could have made the visit to pick up a gift for someone but just can't get there before closing time. They need a few more nights other than Thursday that they are open later and not just until 6PM but 8PM! There are a lot of missed sales to me because of the limited hours.

I bought my mom this cozy blanket at the beginning of March when she fell and broke her hip. She has recovered well so far and enjoys cuddling with her warm fuzzy blanket. The aroma of the store is soothing and refreshing. I highly recommend this place!

There is…read moresomething for everyone, including tools, toys, jewelry, home goods, rugs, art, advertising, lighters/tobacciana, even electronics. Little kids might be a bit bored but unlike many of these types of stores where it's a lot of old clothes and books, I found EOAC (may I be the first to shorten the store name to 'ee-oh ack'?) to be very diverse and was not bored at all while the rest of my family looked around. Prices can be hit or miss, and the sellers are not around in their individual 'booths' so there's no opportunity to negotiate, but given that this is a retail store, the prices were definitely not outrageous. Pro Tips: -We were there around closing time and they do shut down promptly at that time- lights off, doors locked. Make sure you buy whatever you're looking at before then. -There's a good amount of on-street parking along the side of the store, particularly the diagonal spots right around the corner, if you can snag one -The two-block area of Owego around the store is really perfect for strolling/shopping/hanging out. -The downstairs part is very clean and well organized, and not super-crowded with stuff. The upstairs is a little funkier, especially the side and back rooms (which look like they may have originally been employee break or stock rooms). Don't make the mistake of not at least taking a peek upstairs and seeing if there's anything you like. The only drawback I see is the second floor is not accessible; no ramp or elevator that I saw, only stairs (remember this was built as a department store in the 1950's). The first floor does seem wheelchair accessible though. So far we've been here twice and would stop by again if nearby. If you are a die-hard antique/collectible person, this store could be worth making into a destination all it's own.

Four or five staff/vendors were happily talking with each other, but no one engaged us at all, so we wandered around. Nice mix of furniture, housewares, China/dish sets, some jewelry, some cases, toys and some crafty-country themed items. I bought a deep Pyrex pie dish for $3 and a small tin container for $4. We would definitely stop back when in the area.

A couple of open doors on the front and side does not help, nor did a few fans. I had to get home and shower and wash everything and even then I could still smell it. I do not recommend if you're an asthmatic.
