We wanted to eat local inspired food and we heard about Tenderete. It is located on the ground floor of an apartment building but on the main avenue. As we entered, the owner, Nico, greeted and seated us. He noted that the dishes were all native Canarian with local vegetables, meat, and fish. We had appetizers of snails in a tomato sauce and steamed mussels with lemon. We shared a salad then had the most delicious goat stew. The meat was excellent. We had a few coffees and he was kind enough to bring us complimentary drinks of local honey rum. A very authentic experience.
We went back the next night since it was such good food. We had the cheese plate as an appetizer with all local cheeses. Papaya, orange salad, then pan-fried fish with local potatoes. Another good meal, and Nico was a very good host.
Would love to come again next visit. read more
