Just a few miles east of Brookport (on Unionville Road) is this restaurant/bar. Its one of those places where the workers know all the regulars and talk about local gossip. A lot of people (on other reviews sites) make it sound like a go-to restaurant, and maybe it is. There's not a lot of tables there, but plenty of space to dance on - plus they have two pool tables. The steak, which is usually served on Friday nights, is supposed to be a big deal. Some reviewers are turned off that they let people smoke in there, despite of the Illinois law. When I was in there, nobody lit up nor did the place smell like cigs. So who knows - maybe they all thought I was an undercover cop! Lol. I had the shrimp po boy, a full order of cajun fries and soda - all for under $10. Not bad of a deal. They do have crinkle cut fries as well as loaded fries. Food was good, but small-town bars who pay more attention to their regulars just aren't my thing.

The Billiard Center came under new management and they have made a TON of renovations and more are…read moreplanned for the future. It was a huge change from last year. The place is clean, updated, and was remarkably improved. The place is even better than many other pool halls I've been to in St. Louis or other cities. The wait staff and bar tenders were still very iffy on experience (didn't know how to make a lot of basic drinks), but the food was good and cheap. If the upcoming renovations come through as well I can see this place becoming a very major pool location.
