I am working in town and stopped in at the suggestion of a friend. The place was almost empty. Maybe 6 of us total in the bar area and probably about that same amount in the dining area. I sat at the bar and had a couple beers. For appetizers, I asked the bartender what she liked the best. Based on her recommendations, I ordered the Pub Pretzels with Beer Cheese along with the Buffalo Ranch Chicken Dip with Tortilla Chips and Celery. Typical bar food. The Pub Pretzels and Beer Cheese looked and tasted like Auntie Anne's brand. Not bad. The Buffalo Ranch Chicken Dip was served in a disposable container. It was good, but, very mild, not spicy at all. Could have used more heat. They have an area for live music. I'm sure this place is packed when school is in session. It is next to campus. The service was great. Pizza crust wasn't impressive but the toppings were fresh and the were generous with the toppings.

We came in because it's really the only bar open on a Sunday with TV's to watch some football. The first initial bartender was very nice, attentive and great conversation. I believe his name was Erick, nonetheless he was amazing. Unfortunately that's where things took a turn 30 minutes after because there was a shift change. The next set of crew complained about working the night before and how they didn't want to be there. Played on their phones most of the time, when we asked for a refill on our beverage's, we had to apologize for the inconvenience for another. A little dark, extremely cold in the bar area. The atmosphere here was great, server was very nice. I'd like to go back on a night they have live music or trivia. I don't think I'll be going back for the food though. In my group of 5 we had Wings, Alfredo, potato skins and chicken tenders were order in this group. I had the Alfredo and it was bland and flavorless. Wasn't very hot, assuming they just microwaved it. I was told from my group: the chicken tenders were disgusting. The wings weren't hot enough. The potato skin things were great. I'd just skip on the food when you go here, or just get an app to share, and go for the beer and assumingely fun times. read more

I've been here multiple times and would recommend for a chill night. Solid food and good service. - BS burger (4.5/5): the best thing I've had so far on the menu. Came here for lunch with my family the other day and really enjoyed it! I heard their pizza was amazing so came back to give it a shot! Our waitress was amazing- very attentive and sweet! The pizza came out pretty fast and was flavorful and filling!! We got the Tap Talian Pizza- the peppers on it made the difference!! The crust was so good too! We just made the mistake of not letting it cool down enough at first... it just looked too tasty! I had a Peach Sour to drink which was also good- didn't taste much peach but it was still a good sour! Can't wait to come back and try more here! read more

This is a "almost" typical college sports bar. Food is average & service is hit or miss. Unfortunately you rarely see the same servers more than once. This tells you what it means to work there. The venue itself is fantastic!! Resturant area with an indoor bandstand. Very cool bar area as well. Both areas have adequate number of TVs to watch your favorite game. As a bonus this place has a great outdoor area with its own stage. So why the low rating you might ask? Because they allow old farts to sit on the covered area of the outside seating and SMOKE! Not just a cigarette but a nice big horse turd of a cigar. If you close your eyes you can almost feel yourself turning green all while your food is served for you to enjoy! Sound delicious? Tap 216 is located smack dab in front of the Murray State University sign. Therefore it was a perfect place to have lunch with my nephew, who'd just started college in August. We had jalapeño poppers, a pizza, and some chicken tenders and fries, and also a salad. The food is ok. I'm sure it's better than campus food for the college kids, but for me, it was just average and I certainly wouldn't write home about it. Onto the beer...I don't drink it, but my husband and the friend that rode with us (we're bikers) love a good beer. Tap 216 keeps their taps clean, and the kegs are very cold. My husband ordered a hefe, and was so pleased! It was perfect. Chief (the man with us) ordered a Sam Adams and it tasted clean, cold, and delicious. Both were served in beer clean glasses. I ordered a vodka and soda, my usual. It was good. I had to take a gander around and check out the deco on the walls. Very cool!! read more

The worst experience I have ever had at a bar/restaurant. Ever. Most employees were in a poor mood particularly the bouncer, greeter, and bartenders. When we walked in, the music was SO LOUD that even at a screaming level it was hard for us to hear the greeter and for the greeter to hear us. I get that this is a bar right next to campus, but there were 0 people in the "dance" area all 4 times that I was inside the building. The majority were outside with some as far away from the music/dance area as possible. They were out of 3 different drinks and 4 different food items we tried to order. Bartenders said they had a 1.5 shot limit for any drink on order. The first drink we got was primarily water with what I assume was 1.5 shots of something. I had them remake it and instead of using primarily water, they used primarily a mixer. Gold star for comp'ing the drinks... however, the snickering and backtalk from the bartender were not needed. The food that we did end up getting (2 apps: loaded waffle fries and corn nuggets) was lukewarm at best. The corn nuggets were fine, but the fries were not it. The "melted cheese" was a solid dried hunk of plastic in the middle of the stack of fries by the time the app got to our table. This was my first visit since finding out that Tap employed a misogynistic bouncer that actively posted videos of him harassing people on his social media. I figured I would give Tap another chance since I have not seen that particular bouncer outside in some time... However... I will not be back. Ever. The vibes are NOT there and having a shot limit on your drinks and/or purposefully watering them down for whatever reason is not cool. Taking advantage of college students who might not know any better is not. cool. My advice to anyone looking for a bar in Murray... go to Paducah because what used to be the best bar in town is acting a fool. read more

We had great service tonight at Tap 216. My whole table got some variant of a Mac and cheese something-either the wrap or burger. Both were great. To me, the steak was a bit charred-tasting but if you go in expecting a stronger flavor you'll like it. Beer cheese is used in their Mac and cheese, interesting! The service here is horrible the waitress avoided us. The food is even worse! The host had to serve us our food and drinks. The funny thing is everyone else in our section was taken care of by who was supposed to be our server. The food is really bad. We were served crusted over beer cheese I mixed a little bit of it and it was clumpy underneath. We were also given browned wilted lettuce and our baked potato was black on one side. Two of the waters we ordered tasted like mold!! The burgers and Mac n cheese are tasteless. I will be super happy to never come back to this place again. read more

I have been here before a few years ago right when it opened when visiting. I'm an alumni of MSU and came back recently for an event and got to meet up with some old friends. The location is everything, so close to campus and by all the big parking lots including patio seating. Last time I got a big meal but this time was mainly drinks and we split a small pizza and mozzarella sticks. It was a thin pizza and was pretty good as well as the mozzarella sticks better than normal bar food. Drinks were pretty good as well! Conner was our main bartender and was very accommodating! There food is terrible! The ranch was a 90/10 ratio of water. The pepper jack cheese bites were your normal generic frozen shit. There boneless wings they call them should be considered chicken chunks they were so tiny. They took forever to take our order because the hipsters couldn't stop talking to each other. We've come here several times, however the customer service has significantly increased. Our server (also the man on bar) was efficient and checked on us multiple times as well as other people around us. I usually don't get salads when I go out to eat in fear of how old the lettuce is, but I did.. whenever I got my salad there were no brown patches and it tasted fairly fresh. Beer cheese and pretzels are a personal favorite so of course I ordered those and they were delicious, will be coming here again and again. read more

I don't get to go back to Murray often and a buddy was excited to recommend a new place with craft beers on tap. Finally... Somewhere in Murray that supports beer worth drinking. However, this place fell quite flat. In regards to the beer, there were only about 12 on tap (isn't Tap in your name?). Of the 12, about 1/3 were American domestic garbage. We did ask the owner why, with limited taps, would use waste precious craft space on garbage. His response - "well everyone here just wants to drink Bud Light." Which then led us to ask... Then why do you have a craft bar? If that is not a shame, ALL beers are served in a tall, skinny Pilsner style glass. All of you craft enthusiasts will understand how odd and unfortunate this is. Tsk tsk Besides the craft bar wannabe disaster, the atmosphere was pitiful. We walked in on a Saturday night to no music, no tv volume either, and an assortment of bartenders that... Quite possibly... May hate all humankind. For fun, we thought we would play the jukebox and take turns coming up with random songs. Well, apparently the owner did not like any choice of music except booty dancing beats. I'm pretty sure he was only into whipping it and watching people ne ne. So, when a song would play he did not like... He would actually skip it! And no refund, of course. We tried to talk to him about it, but he was literally the most serious, personality-lacking, flat human beings I have ever met. For a guy that owns a bar, he seems to not like owning a bar.
