Went in for my appointment and they said I owed $40, they couldn't explain to what it was for, as I always have to pay my co-pay before I can see the doctor. Stacey at the front desk was extremely rude and short and unprofessional. I told her I was not going to pay for something they could not tell me what it was for. I paid the co-pay and seen the doctor. When I was finished I went ahead and paid the $40. When I got home and looked at the receipt they had applied the $40 to another patient account. I tried to call but no one there answers the phone and was sent to a third party answering service. They did not understand what had happened so I drove 30mi back to the office. When I asked Stacey if my account had been updated she said, " You still owe $40. I tried to show her where I had paid the bill 2 hours earlier and she said I don't wanna look at that, and started talking to the other lady working the desk like I was not even there. He thinks he doesn't owe the $40 now and I still show he does. Instead of looking at the receipt she just acted as if I was lying. Then when I went to the back where I had paid they were like oh, sorry this happens all the time, its why we are here!? Why you're here? To apply other peoples payment to another account? I figure the $40 was applied to my account incorrectly in the first place and that $40 was actually someone else bill! These people think its funny mixing medical records up. 2 years ago Dr Thomas even mixed my records up and was getting ready to perform mohs surgery in the wrong spot. He outlined the wrong cheek the right side instead of the left side where the cancer was until I informed the nurse before she gave me the injections. She looked at me and said I think you're right, went and got the ipad and Dr Thomas and he looked and said oh yeah, it is the other side. Should have let him got started then hired an attorney. I figured he was local and gave him another chance, but after the billing incident I have found a new dermatologist and will never us TNV again. Terrible experience. GET YOUR BILLING RIGHT! I would post pictures of the receipts but do not want to expose the others patients info...they didn't have any problem handing it to me though! Protect your info, they share with others. Dr. Hansen is probably the best doctor I've ever had. However, their pre-registration and payment programs border on harassment. Texts, phone calls, robocalls etc asking the same questions are nonstop. The staff aren't always the friendliest or most helpful either. I put up with it only because of Dr. Hansen otherwise I'd go somewhere else. read more

I have gone to this facility for a few years and every time I have had to wait in the patient room from 20 minutes for 25 minutes which means they are scheduling more than they can handle in the allotted time. When you first go into the patient room the nurse is very nice and as she leaves says the NP will be in shortly (big laugh). Not good customer service!!!!! To make matters worse, the patient room was very dirty. This is a medical office and for it to be as dirty as it is, they should be ashamed of. This company should be very ashamed for the condition of the office and the lack of care for the patients. read more

I checked Google reviews and trusted the high reviews for TRD. This is we're I decided to send my wife as she was breaking out on face and arms with open sores boiles and losing hair. I usually go with my wife as I'm highly protective of one of the most important person in my life. Instead she went with our three kids. I received a call just after her appointment time. My first thought was they need insurance info, I was appalled to hear my wife sobbing and saying her appointment was already done. Well what happened? My 14 year old son got on the phone due to her sobs of hopelessness. "Dad, I really think this would have been a doctor appointment like my school meeting with principal, daddy the police would have had to remove you for trying to get at this guy dad" Well what happened? 'Nothing happened dad, mom didn't even really get to talk, he came in, said who he was, looked at her sores and said there is nothing he can do or prescribe to help you, you just need to stop picking, this is caused from picking. I guess thats why her hair is falling out, often has fever, extremefatigue.. ok-------- Well I knew where %-$^ this was going. SOMETIMES due to my wife being clean off of drugs for the past 13 years, since 2010, we still get some doctors that want to treat her like an active drug user. Ahhh, the sores are from picking? What is she picking? The sores? No can't be, cause the sores are caused by picking!!! Wow ok, sounds more like a drug addiction rather that a skin issue, well MAYBE, if she were on drugs. She went into hospital that week for an infection and was in hospital for a week. BUT, that's not the cause. It took me over a year to get her to go to a dermatologist again. Finally I took her to Vanderbilt who did what they should. First appointment they took biopsy and gave a script. Second appointment did blood work and also did autoimmune screening test revealing AC-4 Nuclear Fine Speckled in the nucleus that got us to a rheumatologist that Finally got us a diagnosis of LUPUS, not her just deciding one day to start picking herself. This doctor could have been a blessing to someone but instead he filled her with pain, embarrassment and sorrow. What is sent around always comes around, and I will be the delivery person on that Doctor. I assure you!! Take your job and patients more serious. DONT ADD YOUR UNIVERSAL NON PERSONAL REPLY you sent to everyone. I'll save you the time. I ALREADY NICELY CALLED TO TRY TO RESOLVE. Your receptionist gave me the same, she's picking statement. It's been a year, I assure you I'm no longer angry, but if I treated your love one so poorly I made them sob, I'm sure you would make sure you would also make me cry comparably. I went here a year or so ago because I had a spot on my nose that was concerning. The NP I saw was not thorough at all! She said the spot on my nose was nothing to worry about and froze it off. No biopsy was taken. The spot came back and I went to another dermatologist in the area where I was given a very thorough exam (head to toe) and the spot on my nose was biopsied that day. A week later, the office called to schedule surgery (MOHS) because the spot was a squamous cell carcinoma. I DO NOT recommend this place at all. To be fair, I only saw the NP and never a doctor. However, if I taken the NP's diagnosis, I could have suffered significantly! read more

It is a shame that such good doctors have such terrible service. I have been struggling to get my calls returned, and important papers faxed to a pharmacy for months for my expensive medicine I need. I am saddened to have to give such good doctors at this office a terrible score because of the total incompetence of the office staff. read more

I have not been pleased with the service I have gotten here. I have been 3 times. The doctor barely looked at me. My PCP had done the biopsy and I had skin cancer. I was referred to Dr Webb at TN River and he looked at it and said to schedule an appointment to remove it. He only does surgery on certain days, but I had to come in for him to glance at it. I had to point out other concerns as he was ready to go. I had some spots that he said were pre-cancerous and froze them. Surgery went well and can't fault him on that. My 6 mo check up with NP Johnson was a joke. I was fully dressed and she looked at my arms and raised my shirt up to look at my back. I question her about some spots and the brief exam. She said she had lots of experience identifying cancer in a condescending tone. Needless to say I won't be back. These people are about the money, not the patient. read more

If I could give them no stars I would anytime you try and call you have to leave a voicemail which would be fine if they would call you back. I have been trying 2 weeks to get them to send a pre authorization to my insurance company. If your primary wants to send you here don't waste your time. read more

I see Dr.Brian Thomas for steroid injections in my scalp to treat various alopecia spots. Since I have been getting the injections I have seen a significant amount of hair growth in some spots while other spots won't grow. Dr.Thomas is very nice, courteous, professional, and doesn't rush the visits. He takes his time with you and explains conditions well. The staff are equally nice and professional. When taken to the back there is not much of a wait time and I am usually in and out which is good. Even in the waiting area there really isn't much of a wait. Either way I would definitely recommend. read more

This place is the absolute worst. Go to your primary doctor or Huntsville or anywhere else if you can. The waits are always 45+ minutes. They overbook everyone and the schedulers are terribly rude. Co-pays are very high and the care is substandard. The doctor will be in and out the room in about 5 minutes, doesn't listen and they'll just schedule a follow up for 2 months (or whatever the ridiculous wait time is, it's always 6+ weeks for recheck). Seriously go somewhere else! Life is short and not worth waiting here. read more

I saw DR Thomas 3 times for a painful skin condition, after the third trip he said he didn't know what I had and couldn't help me. I went home, did some research and found out exactly what I had, cause, effect and cure. I made another appointment expecting to have an ally in my corner to solve my problem, I printed out the medical journal and took it with me. Instead of helping me he turned on me, told me my condition was all in my head,(false it I was a kind of neuropathy) and the treatment (amitriptyline) indicated I needed to see a psychiatrist instead of a dermatologist, then he stomped out of the room like a spoiled child. He had zero knowledge of my condition or the drug used to treat it so he made something up that was completely incorrect and insulted me in the process. I subsequently checked with two other doctors and a nurse portioner to verify just how wrong DR Thomas had been, they agreed with me. I guess his time is to precious to do one minute of research on my behalf. It took me all of 8 minutes to find the answer and I only have a high school education. read more

I have been a patient at Tennessee River Dermatology for over 10 years. I had a horrible rash that started on my chest & spread down my arms. The inside of my elbows blistered up. When I called to get an appointment (even though I was in a bad situation) I was given an appointment 3 months from when I called. It was very disappointing to be treated like that when you are already a patient. We desperately need some dermatologists in our area. read more
