Love this bank. I've been banking with them since 2013 and have not had any issues. They are a local hometown bank and it's a place where they greet you by name. While some of the restrictions may seem like inconveniences; however, Tennessee State Bank respects your privacy and wants to ensure your safety. We banked at the Seymour branch for a long time. Both personal and business. Their service declined to the point that it was terrible. We had money in the bank which we didn't want to touch. My husband asked for a short term personal loan and the manager handed him a thick new client packet and he walked out. Believe these reviews! You'd think there be ONE person who is happy, but seriously, it's a joke. And the fact that they don't respond to these reviews or make an effort to improve kinda tells you what to expect. 1) If you don't log onto their website, for a while, they block you and you have to jump through hoops to get back online. 2) You want to pay them effortlessly? Forget about it. They absolutely refuse to let me set up autopay for my monthly mortgage. Makes it easier for them to collect generous late fees in the event something goes wrong. Who doesn't offer autopay these days? And a BANK? 3) I discovered they had an old phone number on file for me, meaning they can't contact me to alert me to a problem if one comes up. So I logged onto their "secure" website to change it. No option for that. So I securely messaged them via their site. Nope. If you want to change it, for "security" reasons, you have to go into a branch or call them. Which since I'm on the west coast, is always a challenge. Again, what institution is unable to make a simple contact phone number change via a secure connection? I can log in to my account on the site, if it's not secure, then we have a problem. Send me a confirmation email or whatever you have to do to verify me. But no, simply "We don't do things that way." 4) For the first several years of my loan, they would send me a big long form to fill out every year, basically a new loan application. I already have the money. I'm making my payments regularly. WTH? So I finally stopped responding and they eventually gave up. But when I asked them about it, they insisted that it was a government requirement. Funny, the government doesn't require that of any other bank or loan I deal with, and I've got several! The name sounds impressive. But bar none, this is the worst bank I've ever dealt with. I'd sooner do business with Fred and Ethel's Backyard Savings, Loan, and Tire Center. read more

Worst Bank I have experienced here in TN. They dont allow deposit thru atm so when the bank closes and you arent able to make a deposit they like to get you for NSF......I have weekly payroll deposit and for a 15.00 charge I was short on due to having to wait for a fraud charge to be sent to my account they charged me a 33.00 NSF fee. Then two days later send that 15.00 charge back to vendor which now will cost me that 15.00 plus 25.00 from them changed the NSF charge of 33.00 to a returned fee charge of 33.00. They are in the stone age and the ladies at the branch in Powell are horrible. Very rude and judgemental. I will be shopping around and taking my business somewhere else read more

Deposit made to my account (a closed account). Notified bank of their error after receiving statement 16 days later. The Bank was unaware of their error until my phone call. Teller stated and found error while I was speaking on phone with her. Bank blamed on computer. It was a handwritten deposit, & manually input. The teller did not review her account numbers, name on the account and then opened a CLOSED ACCT. Red flags of incompentency. After speaking to a representative, many inappropriate and actions followed. The second representative I spoke with recognized, admitted the errors. I received a form letter apologizing for deposit but he failed to address all other errors that was discussed on previous conversations. Definately, I would NOT recommend any locations of this bank.
