I then met with Dr. Bartholomew. Very personable, through, informative, I was highly impressed with both nurse and doctor. VERY pleased with my visit. Upon leaving another patient had a medical emergency in the hall. Dr. Bartholomew rushed to aid the patient and as far as I know was there until paramedics left with them. This is the Doctors we need, she did not stutter, hesitate, or look for anyone else she was right by the patient to aid them. It sounds crazy to me now, as a recovering heroin addict, that I actually thought I had any other choice. For me, treatment was the only option left if I wanted to survive and get my life back. But I owe it to the people at this place for convincing me to start and stay. I truly couldn't have asked for a better door to have knocked on. Recovery of Life definitely became my family away from my family and I'm incredibly grateful that they've supported and helped me move past issues I've struggled with, which I was able to work on in sessions with an onsite counselor. I definitely recommend ROL to anyone feeling stuck in their addiction like I did. I wouldn't have went anywhere else if I had the choice and I'll be forever thankful for these people getting me to come in for more than a consultation.

My impression is they were more committed to keeping the cash flowing instead of keeping me healthy. They were constantly trying to up sale a line of products for them to make a profit. This seems to be the new business model. I'm disappointed that chiropractors have followed the same pattern as medical doctors. I always considered them the alternative. Now it seems most of them are in it to enrich themselves and simply use their patients to enhance their own lifestyle with no commitment to being healers. I did find that Emily at Payne Chiropractic was the healer I was looking for. She asked and answered lots of questions and provided me printed information about stretches and exercises to take care of myself. She also recommended a book about a topic I was interested after sharing my interest in medicinal herbs and self-healing. She wasn't selling anything other the service. She also took what medicare paid, with no additional payment, therefore there was not out of pocket expense. After only one visit, I've been managing my own condition and haven't needed to return. If you're tired of being milked for cash and strung along, as I am, take heart, there are still a few out there.

In the latest episode when I phoned in a refill I got a call the next day saying that Dr. Briley would like me to meet me. We haven't met because I work during most of his office hours. I wasn't told that my prescription wouldn't be refilled unless I did. Today I went to pick up my refill and found out that it had been denied. When I called their office to find out the reason why the secretary told me that there was no one in the office who could authorize my prescription refill for the next 2 weeks! What kind of medical office has no one around who can authorize a simple prescription refill for an entire 2 weeks?!! I have a 1 day supply left of my sleeping pills. I sleep terribly without them. I'm switching back to Jackson Clinic North, but the earliest appointment I could get was 1 month from now. For an entire month I'm going to get terrible sleep because these people can't refill a simple prescription. IF YOU HAVE ANY KIND OF PRESCRIPTION THAT NEEDS TO BE REFILLED DO NOT SEE THESE PEOPLE.
