There are a ton of rules that don't get…read moreenforced; not only do you pay to play in the league ($55/person) but you pay for "refs" that don't know half the rules, blatantly play favorite, make sexist/rude comments/jokes, and sometimes don't even pay attention and admit it. We've had some nasty weather and the league doesn't make decisions until the last minute, which shows no consideration for people that have to drive here from further than 30 mins away. Once, in a downpour, they still had games and then got all sassy and told us to wear cleats when I expressed my concern. As a team, we paid over $700 (not including the stupid money to pay the "officials") and I feel this is a SCAM. Not only did we pay all that money, they JUST cashed my $450 check weeks after I gave it to them. Not cool AT ALL. I will 100% only participate in Baltimore Social leagues from now on. There is also a Fed Hill division, but I'm pretty sure it's the equivalent to the minor leagues when compared to the professional level of play that happens at Patterson Park. I should mention that this is separate from the BSSC. The KLB have both Spring and Fall leagues. Once the season starts, dozens of teams embark on Patterson Park to play intense games of kickball, and maybe drink a beer or two in the process. I'll be honest, people play to drink beer outside, plain and simple. Make sure you hit up one of the sponsor bars after-wards, either Looney's or Sharkeys, for drink specials. Minus one star because Coors Light is the main sponsor and I hate Coors light.

Did we encounter problems along the way yes, but the good times out weighted the bad! The friends, we call our football family are invaluable! My son has gone from a federal level player to a National level started. He has the potential of starting his freshman year. He has 3 HC Terps coaches that check on him, watch out for him and have his best interest at heart! Do the HC Terps need improvement- yes! But it's hard for me to believe that other organizations do not have problems. I choose to join the board to try and make it better!!

The program has struggled to attract the number of players that some of the other teams that participate in the Mid-Maryland Football and Youth Cheer program over the last couple of years but they still develop strong teams through the strong coaching staff. At the younger age groups, the focus is on developing basic football skills. As kids move toward the older age groups, the game becomes more competitive and prepare players for high school football programs. If you have a son or daughter (yes, we've had some girls play football in the past) that is interested in football or cheering, I'd recommend considering the program.

So I see the park and I'm looking hard as it looks like a little building on the grounds and the door is wide open... could it be a miracle. I go in and there is a sign-in sheet, so I sign-in and I'm relieved because the couple people that came before me the reason was: Restroom. I know this is not my community recreational center so I actually asked and the lady at the desk, who was very nice, pointed me in the direction. Not only was this place spotless but it had the aroma of bleach, just want I like to smell when I walk into a Rec Center..talk about setting the standard. The outside grounds were pretty nice too, I noticed the paths, tennis courts, and playground. While I don't plan on having that emergency again, I appreciate the hospitality.
