There were several children from tennis camps in attendance and they actively engaged them and imparted encouraging words. I had a great time. There were several food and drink vendors aswell as brands offering free samples. The food was delicious. I loved the lobster rolls from the oyster bar. I had a great time at the DC Citi Open and highly recommend it. On-site parking is available.

The park itself has two playgrounds, tennis courts, restrooms, picnic tables and a trail that hugs the creek. Because of its location, it's a popular park for all people- families, runners, nature lovers. If you're hungry while at Rose Park, walk to nearby Stachowski's Market for a pastrami sandwich on rye bread that's two meals.

I've been to these courts and the side I go on always tends to have one or several people smoking weed. It's tough to play a competitive match while you feel like you're getting high from the cloud of smoke. Any tennis court with night lights is a blessing--whether it's roller hockey, football, or even tennis, the fenced-in surface and the bright lights create a safe playing haven in the city. The Y center is a great option for pickleball in the Arlington area. The associate executive…read moredirector is supportive of the program, listens to feedback, and continues to do what she can to make adjustments to address the evolving needs of the community. At the Y, there are six pickleball courts, striped over three tennis courts. Court surface is great compared to other courts in the Arlington area. There are times/options for all level of play and many sessions are marked for specific levels of play so you know what you're signing up for. It does occasionally struggle with HVAC issues but they address it as much as they can, considering the age of the facility. But they are planning a renovation/new facility, so that's great. And consistent with many pickleball communities, the Y's efforts - drop-ins, tournaments, WhatsApp groups, etc. - have fostered a great community.

STILL THE BEST SOCIAL DECISION I MADE SINCE MOVING TO DC. Really is 50% kickball and 50% happy hour...very few people from DC, so this is an excellent way to meet some new life long friends. I love looking up at the Washington Monument on a Thursday evening as the sun is going down from first base thinking "I wonder what all my friends are doing back home right now?" Whether you already have a team of players, a group of 3-9 friends you want to play with, or just joining by yourself, their awesome staff will take care of you and get you all set up during registration. There are a couple other leagues in DC (think some of them are even more expensive), and I have more people coming from those leagues because they really werent very "fun",

This is the first summer I played DC Kickball and it will be my last. Although I really enjoyed the…read morepeople on my team, I felt like there was a lot of disrespect from a lot of other players. I'm going to go ahead and say it, there were dudes on other teams that just made it so unpleasant to be on field. I think we get into this hoping it will not be like our kickball experiences in middle school, and usually during every game, there was a moment where I felt like "really? I thought we were adults." DC Kickball, unlike some other city teams, does not hire refs, which I think is fine. Refs are volunteers from teams that are not playing. What upset me the most was that dudes from some of the teams argued every call, not letting it go, ganging up on the volunteer refs. I certainly won't be playing next season.
