From the reviews on this website (and several others), it is clear that this company has an integrity problem. Assertions by the company are made regarding products, services and return policies (without documentation), which are later changed. Here's my example. During the first week of October-2024, I had an extended conversation with the owner of Play Your Court (PYC) regarding the purchase of a $10,000 celebrity tennis package which was scheduled for March 8, 2025. As part of the conversation, I questioned the owner about a refund policy if I needed to cancel. The answer I received was that they would refund the money if sufficient time was given before the event took place. When I asked about the "sufficient time" I was told that about 2-3 months was sufficient. On 11/15/2024, I contacted the owner by email, informing him that I might need to cancel due to a schedule change. At no time did the owner respond stating that a refund would only be provided if the tickets could not be resold. On 1/7/2025. I sent an email to the owner requesting cancellation of my reservation. Only at that time did the owner respond stating that he could not provide a refund unless he could resell the tickets. This is the first time this policy was stated. Multiple communications were exchanged subsequent to this request. The owner also stated that he spent over $10,000 in advertising to try and resell these tickets. He failed realize that if I had never purchased the tickets in the first place, he would still have spent money on advertising to sell them...he just used my money to pay for the advertising then used that as an excuse to refuse the refund. Needless to say, I have not received any refund from this company. Beware if you are thinking about using this company's products or services. Get everything in writing before handing them any money. read more

It's too bad about play your court. If they would have made one change I would be giving them 5 stars not 1. On the plus side it was very easy to find someone convenient to my location to play with. Unlike a previous comment I found it very easy to find someone to play with although the players did tend toward the 4.0 level and above but if you are a solid 3.5 you can find someone to play with who might be a little better but still in the range where you can have at least competitive games though you might lose 6 2. They get a one because I was never able to find a way to cancel my account and the subscription automatically renewed. If it was possible, the way you were supposed to cancel your account was very cryptic which is very sleazy. If you decide to use this service, I strongly suggest using a pre-payed visa card with not much more on it than your fee too sign up. I signed up maybe 3 or 4 years ago so maybe they corrected this. You might want to check on that. If I ever decide to get back into tennis, maybe I would check if they corrected this problem but I would still use a pre-payed visa card with limited funds on it to pay the fee. read more

This site will take your credit card info an simply keep charging it. There is no way to delete your card info or opt out of auto-renewal. If you ask them to reverse a charge (i.e. annual membership), they simply refuse. read more

I was matched up with a coach who was not responsive and unavailable. Trying to schedule one lesson was a hassle and I wasn't willing to go through that every time I needed to schedule a lesson. When signing up they should make it more clear when coaches are available and how soon they can start with lessons. Additionally they should make it more clear where the lessons are held. In my case it was advertised that they could do it closer to my home but after assigning me a coach, it was not close at all. The concept and model seem to have potential for lessons and for matching up with other players but you can tell not much thought was given to the customer experience. If the customer experience becomes a priority for the company I think it can be a really good option for tennis players. read more

We recently moved from Seattle to Orange County CA and needed to meet fellow tennis players. We joined this website in hopes to connect with tennis players. There are very few players in our area and never played with anyone! They will not tell you how many players in your area and make you join first. The bigger problem was the double billing (twice) and non cancellation. I had to contact my credit card company to reverse two charges. I was able to connect with a live person who credited my last payment and finally cancelled my subscription. So.... very few local tennis players. They push tennis lessons. Had I known this, I would not have joined. Waste of time. read more

AT 64 I found out shortly after joining my body just could not stand the pounding from tennis again. I tried to cancel after about 3 weeks, I did the steps on the website in order to cancel I received no errors but after I cancelled I still received calls from people and they kept billing my prepaid card until all the money in it was drained. I joined playyourcourt to make contacts for fun tennis games. Thought it was like a meetup. They showed over 200 subscribers in my area. After I joined I was shown 7 members interested in playing. 3 responded to my emails initially but then never arranged a time to play. I kept thinking I would get something but after two months I cancelled my membership. Then I found out I couldn't get a refund after 30 days. The company will arrange tennis lessons in a heart beat or try to sell you something else but the membership is a complete waste of money. read more

I am just not a fan. Their refund policy stinks. Although it may say what a coaches availability is it may not be so when you purchase the lessons. You are not aloud to contact the coach until after you pay for the lessons so you have no idea if they are actually available for the times you need. read more

PlayYourCourt made a series of unprofessional mistakes with my tennis lesson package. I bought a package of lessons on sale, but the receipt had no description of what I had bought or a record of the discount received, only a dollar value. When I had to switch to a new coach, they switched me to a more expensive coach without informing me in advance, and thus the number of lessons I had signed up for were reduced. Worse, they overcharged me upon the coach switch and only adjusted it when I pointed it out. I did not get the good deal I thought had gotten when I signed up for lessons and had a lot of aggravation dealing with this company. read more

I was very clear when speaking to the sales person that while I was a beginner I also want to be certain they could match me with a group of other beginners so I could play and practice. New to the area and tennis. I've had private lessons before and am the longest tennis player. I want to be part of a group so I can actually play and get better. Sales rep assured me that the instructor would include and connect me with other beginners so I would have an opportunity to actually play. It was under this assurances that I purchased lessons and was inform that if it did work out the remaining lesson would be 100% refundable for those that are not utilized. My first lesson was to be with their top pro. When we first met I informed him that I wanted to be part of a group and meet other beginners. he told me he could not do this and that was not something the company offered. Also that he was not informed of my request. ( bad communication within the company) I clearly stated thierrwas a miscommunication and as I was told I would be part of pool of other beginners. We proceeded with my first lesson which was nothing more than volleying the ball back-and-forth never giving me pointers and tips or anything a beginner needs to learn tennis. He severed he ball right to me and I just hit. No comments or feedback on my stoke, foot work. Frankly I just paid to have someone volley, which clearly not of value to a beginner. I reported this to the company and they offered another pro. They also stated that my unused lessons were refundable. Here I am working to get my money back as they did not deliver on any of there promises. I'm seeking legal action as they fully misrepresent their services and policies. This is a complete scam. I used the site to find a coach I liked and then bought a package of lessons with that coach on Sunday afternoons. After 1 lesson, the coach told us that he is no longer available on Sunday afternoons. I contacted PlayYourCourt asking for a refund and they refused saying, per their policy, I need to now accept a substitute coach that has not been approved by me. I bought a lessons package with a Specific coach. I pushed back but without success. I have now filed a claim with my credit card company and the BBB because of how PlayYourCourt is holding me hostage. read more

Awful. I spent a month trying to schedule a class through playyourcourt. The first instructor repeatedly cancelled and flaked last minute. The second instructor actually tried to poach me as a client and join the private club he works at. In the whole month, I never ended up taking ONE LESSON. I spent the whole month just trying to set up the class and dealing with the idiosyncrasies of these coaches. Looking at the other reviews, I'm thankful I actually got my money back. Two of my kids, ages 13 and 7, have been taking classes with one of the Play Your Court instructors for about 8 weeks now. I love that my kids can just walk up to the neighborhood court by themselves and get a private lesson. (We just paid $10 more per lesson to add a child.) Classes would have been cheaper, but I couldn't find any near us at convenient times. Now we get to schedule our lesson when we are free (although we have been sticking with a pretty regular time of Sunday mornings). Private lessons are definitely more expensive than classes, but I've heard that instructors can run $50-100 per hour, so we feel that we are getting a pretty good deal. My kids really look forward to their lesson, and were sad at the thought of suspending lessons during winter. Their instructor, Jen, is very kind, patient, and thorough with working on all the different strokes and skills. This program has been a great solution for us because of the convenience and flexibility, as well as the low-key nature and special attention of private lessons. read more
