We are new to this area, and my 7th grader was assaulted in the bathroom during PE by a student much larger than him. My son reported it to the counselors and principal and they did nothing. He was afraid to return to school because they would not suspend or expel the student who attacked him. In the end, we had to homeschool our child for the rest of the school year. When we mentioned not bringing our child back to school, the principal (Seana Condit) was only concerned about him missing state testing. She has zero concern for the safety of children at this school. The student who assaulted my son is still on campus.

Once she locked him out of the lunchroom. He was knocking on the window and kicking the door. She did nothing but just let it go on. I remember in the 7th grade they had to cut classes short and evacuate the school due to a rumble (you can guess how long ago this was by the use of the word "rumble" lol) at Tennyson High down the street that was expected to move all the way down to chavez. Everybody's parents were notified and you had kids getting picked up early. When you're a kid in middle school, any excuse to leave school early or even just stop and not do class work sounds like a party but for the parents this might be troublesome. The diversity of students at this school is definitely a strong point. The student body is made up of mostly latinos so you see a bunch of asian kids running around saying bad words in Spanish. Hey at least you can say your kid's bilingual now lol

Everyone knows drug use is unfortunately common in many high schools, yet instead of focusing on prevention, education, or helping students make better choices, the administration appears quick to move toward severe disciplinary action like expulsion. Rather than working with families and supporting students who may need guidance, the response feels rushed and punitive. Schools should be focused on creating a safe environment and preventing these issues in the first place, not simply reacting after the fact by removing students. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this school.

Dr. Malanie Harris is incompetent and inefficient. She also took months to respond to my complaint…read morewhich is in regard to one of her esteemed colleagues, Ms. Estrada at Tennyson High School. I believe Ms Harris to be bias in her reports and in her investigations. She is unwelcoming and takes a very long time to respond if at all. She is unfamiliar with student policies and divisions. She also was unable to adhere to State and Federal regulations. As well as uninformed of the Department of Education laws and procedures. She claimed, that is another departments process. I attempted to also contact Ms. Wu however is busy "acting" again as - interim superintendent meanwhile Dr. Jason Reimans investigations has ceased. We filed our complaint to the OCR's and have received a response from the attorney to process their investigation. We will contact news media and bring attention to these concerns and violations from the District in regard to my students health, education, and violations of the Federal laws. I will be pulling our student by the end of this week. We are concerned for our safety, and well being since this has been going on for the last three years. The staff have neglected their responsibilities, and violated laws of a protected student who is designated under the Disabilites Act, section 504.

This review is for when I came to the district building to get fingerprinted since the machines at…read morethe HUB were down. I didn't see any parking lot for visitors, so there was only street parking. There was barely any parking, so I had to park really far. I also had to make an appointment for fingerprinting, and they only offered a few time slots per day. The receptionist was nice and directed me to the correct floor. When I arrived to the HR department for fingerprinting, they took forever (~20 minutes) getting things set up (which I didn't know since they just took my information and left for a really long time, so I had no idea what was going on in the back). However, when the lady came back, everything was smooth from there. She was very polite and I was out of the building right afterwards.
