Great gf empanadas I love their picante and everything we've had has been great. I drive about 25 min to grab these and totally worth it.

Coffee, bread, service, and breakfast have been consistent and delicious the ambiance is very chill too

Food is delicious. Empanadas are sensational, especially the beef and plantain and beef and potato. Chicken and potato are also very good and the cheese ones are delicious like they take on a mozzarella stick. Pleasant atmosphere and friendly staff with several sweet or savory counter selections. We had cheese bread and guava and cheese empanadas at a table. They were warm from the oven and spectacular. We took home a sweet corn pie, beef and yucca empanada, beef and cheese empanada, and a chicken empanada. Delicious meet flavors and generous. Did this place get a lot better or did I just miss the delicious buñuelos and empanadas that much?!? I think both! Both the buñuelos and empanadas are gluten free and you can't even tell because they are so delicious. I love their vinegary delicious red sauce and the creamy sweet green salsa too paired with the empanadas.They are the perfect balance together. I wish they would ship to me also but I prefer the warm at home feel of their baked goods. The Buñuelos are perfectly soft and buttery you won't want to stop at one. Highly recommend to everyone. If you haven't yet been in you are missing out. I will be back at least twice a year while visiting family. It's a must! The service feels like home here. Came in right behind lady who gave her initial order and was talking to senior counter server. We then ordered 10 almohabanas from the junior server but only 7 left. So I said fine and we were going to get empanadas and other items. In the meantime, the lady said, "Oh I want some more almohabanas, so the senior server literally took 2 of ours without a word. I noticed this and asked what's going on? Then the Karen chimes in, "I was here first and I had already ordered them but was talking..." I looked at server who said you get five. Last time I coming here even though we usually get trays of items from here. Quality and service has really gone downhill since new management. read more

A family member brought empanadas from Tentaciones to our Christmas dinner, and oh my god, I'm in love. I'm usually not a huge empanada person since most places tend to get the potato to meat ratio wrong, but these were truly phenomenal. I kept going back for more to the point where I almost overdid it before the main meal of the night was even served. They were just that good. Came across this gem thanks to the too good to go app. I picked up my surprise bag and I was blessed with 4 bakery items . Which were all delicious ! The almojabana was amazing. Also received what looked like to be a multigrain croissant which was very very good . Got a donut (which I was disappointed that it didn't have arequipe inside , but then again it was a surprise bag so maybe they do offer some with dulce de leche inside, still it was delicious) and lastly I received a small loaf of Colombian bread which was also very good . I'm not familiar with the area so I'm not sure if this a dominant Hispanic area but I will say coming from someone who lives in a place full of Colombian bakery's (Elizabeth, NJ) this bakery exceeded a lot of bakeries in Elizabeth . Every couple of months my husband and I would get our haircut (him) and styled (me) in downtown Boontoon, NJ. Over the years we have seen Boontoon transform from a sleepy town to a most eclectic NJ food town. Storefronts came and went but when this bakery descended a couple of doors away, I couldn't resist. What I saw was mostly sweets but upon entering, to my delight, I saw more savory eats and a cafe. I absolutely love empanadas. They are the quintessential handheld food goodness and they sold them! I have yet to sample everything made here but the two I have consumed....Heaven! There is the conventional flour-based, fried dough type. Then there is the yucca dough type filled with meat. Intrigued, I chose beef. It comes with hot sauce and garlic sauce (I think you have to ask for the garlic sauce). You know that it's gonna be good due to the weight of one empanada. Filled to bursting and quite filling! I also purchased desserts, tres leches and milojas (which was new for me). Oh my goodness! Touthache-Ingly (is that a word?) fantastic! Yes that sweet. There are many desserts to choose from including the traditional flan. I understand that this place is a popular lunch destination and their almost bare empanada trays were woefully empty when I arrived around 3pm. Maybe it was a good thing for my girlish figure but my it left me wanting more. I do remember passing during by pre-covid days and I hoped that they would survive the pandemic. The new kid in town's got some bakery game. I was here once before for a quick pao de queixo and didn't feel that was enough to judge a review, so I came back for more. Now, granted, I was back late in the day, and bakeries are best visited early. So here's what I got: * Colombian sausage - Last one left. So full of flavor. Great texture, wonderful. Would get this every time. * Chicharrones - A little overcrispy at the end of the day, but the fat was still soft and it all works together. Hard to get this wrong. * Something that was like a pao de queixo, but crispy on the outside: I'd get the softer pao next time. I love my cheesy bread, so I wanted to try both varieties, but this isn't my thing. * Corn patty - Thrown in with the sausage. Not complaining at all about that. * Corn cake - They make a sweet corn cake that is outstanding. Even my cat loves it. I will definitely get one of these every time. * Raspberry pinwheel dessert - Better than I could have imagined. Flaky layers of pastry, plenty of filling, a well-balanced but not too heavy treat. And the cost for all of the above? $15!! Absolutely adding Pergamino's into my regular rotation. It's basically impossible for me to blow my budget here, so I will just get one of everything I feel like having. This place never disappoints me. I knew I wanted the cheese roll up and the guy behind the counter suggested a Yuka empanada with a green garlic sauce. It was the Bomb. I liked it better than the cheese roll up. Also said the cheese came with pineapple and strawberry dipping. Both were so good. The strawberry was sweeter. And got a Columbian coffee with steamed cream. I finished off the snack with a flan. This place is so clean and all the staff is so friendly and suggestive of what to order. Shop local. One of greatest place in the neighborhood for sandwiches, many kind, and other salty stuff, cakes and coffee too. Right on mid -red light Main Street. Nice clean restaurant run by good staff. Wow ! What a great find. Stopped in here for their frosty coffee as a friend brought me one the other day (so delicious) and was just so amazed by how great everything looked. Could not believe how AMAZING this place was! Friends have been talking about it for months and I finally made the trip here. When walking in, you see glass cabinets full of pastries, empanadas, and other assortments of desserts and cakes. The staff was very friendly and gave us some excellent suggestions. I had a chicken empanada and a chocolate braided pastry. Friends had those plus the brownie and we all shared one of their loaves of cheese break. IT WAS SO DELICIOUS! The empanada was stuffed with chicken and was so flavorful. The chocolate braid was creamy and delicious and I highly recommend it! The loaf of cheese bread was very soft and delicious...most of all it tasted very fresh! Next time I'm in Boonton where my dear friends lives, I'm definitely coming back here. I want to try their sandwiches and this green garlic sauce. Apparently this garlic sauce is the best thing ever and everyone needs to try it. I say that because a lot of the customers were familiar with the items and could order by name vs I had to point at what I was interested in, so appreciate the accommodating and patience of the staff. I love savory type pastries and they have choices such as bunelo, empanadas and other items. For the sweet stuff they have fun flavors such as guava, coconut and some of your standards. Texture is just how I like it, soft, fluffy, a little crisp/chew, which I'm sure the freshness part helps. A lot of the items just came out of the kitchen and into my basket and were still warm. They also have a nice drink selection from warm to cold. In their fridge section they offer sodas such as postobon, variety of juices (soursop, papaya) and other items.
