Great bakery in Dover. Had to make a quick stop for breakfast on my way before the train so this was quick and easy.

Rude disrespect staff. I was sat at a table waiting for my family as everyone does when a rude old man walked in with his kid and asked to sit at my table. i politely told him no my family was sitting there he said "well it's empty now so to bad" and proceeded to sit down even though I kept repeating myself. after my father and I told him several times they were occupied He then asked the staff 'can a sit here' and was told yes don't worry about it. the rude staff then walked past my dad with a booster seat and told him "not to look for and start a problem" very disrespectful had to leave because how rude can you be to a costumer. Great spot for Colombian snacks and desserts at fair prices. The cafe has plenty of seating and is clean. Every time we've gone, Rico Pan is busy! But the staff are quick when it comes to service. We're fans of the cheesy pandebono and chorizo. And the desserts are amazing. I've tried quite a few of them and they've all been excellent. read more

I'm an absolute sucker for fried pork and sweet cheese bread. Everything I ordered was delicious and reasonably priced. The place is clean, spacious enough for large groups, and they even have a private parking lot. The staff were nice and helpful. read more

Seeing all the five star reviews compelled me to stop here on the way west to pick up some requested empanadas. The vegetarian ones were actually different shapes and not really empanadas, but OK, I got a few of those for her and a bit of meat for myself. The sausage was good, the little white bun was good, the corn patty was rather overdone but good. All good. She really enjoyed the cheese "empanada" (dumpling? what else would I call it?) and we shared some veggie... hm. Whatever it is. Turnover? :P I picked out a berry tart for dessert and that was quite enjoyable. All for a reasonable price, all with good service that spoke English. In the end, didn't quite leave me with the 5th star feeling. Good foods but the Colombian place in my own town is a little better in my book. Rather crowded wait too. But that's all that's off. I am OBSESSED with this place. I used to buy a couple dozen of these for office parties, back when offices were still a thing. Specifically, I love that the dough is made of corn instead of the usual flour I am accustom to. It adds a wonderfully chewy/dense texture that contrasts nicely against the soft filling. Surprisingly the chicken is more flavorful than the beef option. If I recall correctly, the girl behind the counter said they also have a cheese empanada so I'll have to make sure to come back and get a couple of them as well. The hot sauce is a MUST and the minimum to use a card is $7. The staff here is very friendly and take the time to explain what each item is, granted there isn't a long line. Tonight was my first time visiting this new location for Rico Pan Bakery. It's a really nice spot with plenty of tables inside. The bakery has plenty of great pastries, but I stopped in to bring empanadas home. They have a really nice selection of empanadas, I chose a few beef, cheese, and beef with rice. They were all delicious, especially with that hot sauce! I've said quite a few times that Dover is a town on the rise with many great restaurants. The "new" Rico Pan is a great addition! read more

This review is only for pandebonos and buñellos. They are incredible, exactly what I keep searching for, but alas can never find outside of Astoria. The pandebono was still hot, chewy, and full of cheesy flavor. At $3.30 for two items, prices are fair. The cafe inside is clean and comfortable with ample seating. Will definitely return whenever I take the train to Dover (walking distance to the station is a plus). read more

I've never been here in the bakery before physically but my bestie was nice enough to pick up a batch of these for our pre COVID office parties and she even picked up a few for me when we hung out. Even when it's not hot out of the oven it still tasted good. I remember when we had these at the office it was so amazingly mouth watering. A friend voucher that it tastes like the ones in Colombia. The dough here is different as it is made out of corn -- that is key to a scrumptious empanada. We usually get chicken and beef but both agreed the chicken one has more flavor which is odd but whatever. My friend thinks about these before she sleeps and she is as boujee as it is. Empanadas were good, so were the pastries. After reading the reviews, I wish I could have tried the hot sauce but my stomach was not having a good day. I'd say my favorite things were the puffy round cheese ones that reminded me of pao de queijo. The girl behind the counter was nice and patient as we asked "what's that?" to a bunch of different things. She answered mostly in Spanish though, so if you don't speak it might be a little more difficult to know what you're getting. read more

Rico Pan has moved up the street to a much larger store with plenty of seating and the same delicious baked goods. They feature the best Colombian Empanadas that I've ever enjoyed, and don't forget the hot sauce that has just the right amount of bite. Coffee is tremendous here so make sure you grab a cup or two. Stumbled upon this total find when our car broke down. Wonderfully sweet ladies, so service was great. They were so patient when I asked about every item on the planet - thanks ladies! But seriously don't leave this place without trying the empanadas. They were piping hot when we got them and DELICIOUS. Tried a beef empanada and cheese empanadas. I might even be so bold to say it's one of the best empanadas I've ever had. Not to mention the chocolate chip cookies. They were also delicious!! Must stop in to this gem of a place and try it out! Only one staff person speaks English and all the items i selected by pointing at did not get put in the bag that I paid for. When I called back to tell them no one spoke English and hung up the phone one me. Even if the food is decent, the service needs to improve. It's tiring to have to double check everything behind the workers but I guess that's the way of the world. read more
