The staff were friendly and the owner is a soft spoken gentleman who keeps an eye of plates coming out to be served. He is a sushi chef himself from what I've learned and he takes pride with his day to day operation in this wonderful mighty small establishment. I think restos like this cater to the emerging middle class in the area, where many are freelancers, fresh grads, or startup entrepreneurs who need a place to hang out in outside of their rented small apartments. I had a meet up with a friend and we chatted over beer and a rice bowl. Very casual. None of the luxury from overpriced cafés, of course, but also not your usual tapsilog place. You won't miss it. Their vast menu is quite impressive and the sashimi was super fresh and they had two types of sea urchin (local and from Japanese waters).
