I bought a brand new Whirlpool washer 18 months ago from Teppermans & was put on a payment plan. It recently stopped working. I called 2 repairman on separate occasions from separate repair shops to look at it. Both said it's junk. It would cost $660 to repair. I haven't even finished paying for it! The Motherboard is shot! Both repairman told me the new electronic washers with buttons instead of dials are garbage. When I called Teppermans they put me thru to Whirlpool in the US. They told me zi should have gotten the extended warranty instead of the one year warranty that Whirlpool had in it. Eighteen months & it's garbage! My last Kenmore washer lasted me 25 YEARS! One repairman said I should have kept it & repaired IT. Sad. read more

I bought an adjustable bed frame from here 2 years ago and since have had nothing but problems. They have sent people out several times to fix the same issue over and over and they still are refusing to do anything else about it. Keep in mind these repairs only last 2 weeks before it is broken again. Teppermans seems to have a habit of putting a bandage on problems until their one year warranty is up and then throwing you away being disloyal. I do not recommend buying from here or any teppermans as they will screw you out of money and lots of their stuff is poorly built. Their solution for me is to spend MORE money buying a rug even though I already purchased the pads they told me would fix the issue and that I would be reimbursed for them and I never was. The couch was good. It's whoever is in charge of payments. So I've not had problems before this year, now they're charging nsf fees that aren't even showed on my actual bill in my account. Not even a week goes by and they're already ready to hop to sending it to 3rd party collections. We had some serious issues with purchase and delivery in 2022. The only reason we didn't cancel our order which was a significant value was because of the sales person's determination to get it right for us. After about 5-7 attempts at delivery they finally got it right. Just after one year the arm on our $4,000 couch broke, we were told it was out of warranty- we hadn't purchased the additional coverage. Now 2.5 years in our leather couch is peeling - for $4,000 I would expect the structure and fabric of a couch to last more than 2 years. read more

Hi everyone I have a problem with I purchased a Danny washing machine, in December 21/24 . The salesman that sold me a warranty for an extra two years on the washing machine. The washing machine was sold as is with a 90 day warranty. I have contacted Tepperman's three months after I've had the washing machine I've had issues with it. I've called him three times. I'm actually still waiting for the manager to call me and I have not got a phone call back. I am asking for my money back for my warranty they sold for it because the warranty they can't do nothing about the washing machine until December warranty kicks in and I called Danny to see if they would do anything about the washing told me to cut the cord scratch serial numbers and discard it myself. They would give me my money back, but they will not fix it. I'm out of money for my warranty and I'm not happy with of their bad service and not contacting me again. Purchased a beautiful couch ,Was told that it wasn't in stock at the moment would take a couple of weeks to get in . I called a couple weeks after purchase .Salesperson told be unfortunatly it will not arrive for another month . I took with ease and said I would like it sooner but understand . Was called Saturday prior to delivery with a confirmation and then less the 24 hrs before delivery date was called by salesperson to tell me they didn't even have the couch i there warehouse. When I asked then what are we looking at he said a couple more weeks . I was upset of coarse as we just through away our previous couch in preparation for the new one arriving . I have had to speak with a floor manager, then head office to find out an more exact time for delivery to find out it most likely won't be delivered till beginning of April . 3 months after I paid and was originally told it would most likely be 2 weeks . LIARS ! If i was told from the beginning it will be a few months thats completely different the a couple weeks. The service at the store was fabulous! Sadly my chair was not manufactured correctly and they do not take returns so had to take a day off work to wait for a tech to come and take pictures, few days later got a call saying it would be 8-10weeks to get the bracket needed. The following week another call saying they need more pictures in order to process the claim!! Extremely frustrating process and getting through customer services is next to impossible. Contact from Teppermans began Aug 4. This is email #18 requesting status of repair. Yes, repair subcontractor came to home to review damage but have not heard anything further. This damage is immediately adjacent to a main door and winter cold will potentially create further damage to broken ceramic tiles. When can I expect action on this repair. read more

Had multiple issues trying to order on line... Sales people were rude, manager and sales manager didn't return my calls... Finally got my order and went to pick it up because delivery was weeks away... I was brought the wrong product 3 times.. After an hour, I had to leave for an appointment. Went back 2 days later... Got my product but when I got home they gave me the wrong parts for one chair... I talked to customer care and it's been over a week and still can't sit on my bar stools... The sales staff were great. That was the last of the good service. When our fridge got delivered we were told by the 4 guys that were there that it would not fit in our front door and would have to be taken apart, and that would void the warranty. So they said we needed to buy a different one. They spent 20 mins outside smoking and talking amongst themselves, made some comments about my wife and made her feel very uncomfortable with their stares and comments. They took it away and we called the store. the sales was shocked by this and told it would fit in and that it could be re delivered in two weeks. I put a complaint in about the delivery guys and it literally got ignored. two weeks later 2 guys show up and guess what? the fridge fit. they new guy took 25mins to install it completely. Fast forward to almost 6 months later we inquired about a dishwasher and asked if they were still using the same delivery company and explained what happened the last time I was told they have a few different companies they use and could not confirm who would make the delivery for us. I told them thank you for making the decision to shop elsewhere easy for us and the only response i got was "have a good day" They don't care about you after they get their money. The sales get their commission, the store gets their money, the delivery guys get paid either way, and you as the customer get screwed. read more

Bought a Gas Dryer from Tepperman's this past week. Asked about the liquid propane conversion kit. They told me to go to a very good, high quality local parts store. They tried to get the part for me but after doing a lot of digging for me, advised I had to get the plastic and brass fitting worth 25 dollars from the place that sells the appliances. Called Tepperman's back and inquired about the part where I was once again told to go to the same part store. I advised them I had already gone there and they are unable to get the kit because it is only available to the stores that sell the appliances. They told me it's now a custom order and would take 8-12 weeks minimum to get this kit in. DO NOT EVER SHOP AT TEPPERMAN'S Canada! read more

We purchase two custom decor rest chairs requesting the highest quality fabric from Sarnia tepperman's after 6 months of infrequent use the chairs are pilling. I was told to shave these chair to fix the problem. I have owned furniture for decades and never have I had to shave it, espcially furniture less than 6 months old. disappointed with the quality of these "high"quality chairs,tepperman's warranty read the fine print. I have purchased furniture, mattresses etc. from Teppermans over the last 22 years. Only twice has there been an issue. Both times it was fixed immediately. I would 100% recommend them. Always friendly service. I even saw a price drop a few weeks after purchasing my son's bedroom set and they honored it. read more

The service department is a JOKE... a 1-800 number to a mountain time zone, not very pleasant on the phone to deal with, and I could get my own repair person here sooner, but I purchased the extended warranty, so I have to wait, called the number on Monday morning, best they can do is call back on Wed or Thurs....... She went to the trouble of setting up a demonstration of the sound bar and also was very aware of giving us space to consider the purchase before we made a decision to buy. Horrible Service, Products and Overall experience. We have purchased over 20k in furniture to only find out there were three issues. I understand there are issues, however, screwing up delivery times, selling you the wrong accessorys for your products and not dealing with warranty work in a timely matter is what you can expect. Most uncomfortable recliner sectional couch I've ever sat on .. unfortunately it's ours .. purchased over a year ago from Tepperman's and was told it would work its way in and become less hard .. but nope .. just awful ! For a business that has been around for nearly 90 years you have demonstrated how poor business is done and that you are only here to collect fees. I have only just recently purchased this bed 3 months ago, if it was up to me I'd take it all back because it's already broken and now I'm paying it off for years to come. Since June 13 I have been without a bed because your technician has cancelled, had his car break down, and now I am being told that another available appointment is still another week out (JULY 4). You ask for some sort of priority service because this is a BED not a table or a desk but they say the schedule is already full. Make room? Sad that I'm committed to paying their ridiculous $15 /month warranty for this garbage furniture and wait 3 weeks for it to be dealt with. I don't care if Kevin is not available find someone else. So I call the store to be told that the item I am referring to has 30 units available. I come in to the store 30 min later to be told that there are 0 available while also looking at me like I'm a liar. These employees will say anything to get you in the door and than offer you something totally different that is not on sale. The terrible customer care is on the same level as the brick. Employees will do their best to avoid customers by pretending not to see you and walk in the opposite direction. Later to find them standing around talking to other employees. I love the part where he said that when he was asked to speak to a manager "they were all in a meeting"... I got the SAME excuse four years later, on two occasions... Bought a living room set, one of the couches was the wrong colour, now I am on the hook to find a means to remove the wrong couch from my living, rent a truck and return to Teppermans to exchange it for the correct one. This company has NO commitment to the environment - that's one thing. However, it also has NO RESPECT to those who do. I knew from the past that if I got furniture from them, I would be forever on a mailing list of junk that comes in an envelope. Because it is addressed to me, the Postie has to deliver it. (he/she can't ignore my 'no junk mail' sign. I specifically told the sales person I did NOT want to be on the mailing list when I bought a sofa last July and he assured me I would not. Well, it's MONTHS later and I am still on the mailing list, along with 2 other people who once lived here. It's now about 9 MONTHS of monthly mail continually sending THREE pieces of mail back to this company back, with my address marked out and a note in marker "Return to sender and take off mailing list!" When that didn't work, after the 8th time, I THEN decided to email the company to take all that are addressed here off their list, and was assured it would happen. It did not. GRRRRRRRR. Today, again, their stupid junk mail addressed to 3 people here once again today. I am not sure what else i can do to get this situation changed. As well, I had good friends who are really good people who had purchased many furniture items from this company over the years who also bought a fridge that was a lemon from the first week they had it, and when it conked out shortly thereafter, teppermans DID NOTHING to stand by their product and make good on the deal. They went as high as the president who confirmed that nothing would be done. Outrageous. I know these people and they are more than fair and honest and good customers deserve much better. Overall, not a great experience and would look elsewhere for appliances. I live out of town and purchased a total of 4 dishwashers and 6 hydraulic kitchen stools in the store on a Saturday. I let my salesperson know that the purchase was time sensitive for delivery dates as contractors would be wrapping up work and tenants moving in. I was assured that I would get an update early that week with respect to arrival and delivery dates...I didn't hear from them for over a week. In addition, the wait to pay for my order was over 20 minutes in line and the person at the desk mixed up the order three times, with the last one requiring me to call in the next day and pay an additional $300 because they added the totals incorrectly". I finally received a message that the items were arriving in the warehouse and in response that day, i left a voice mail asking them to schedule a delivery date for the following week. I didn't hear back from them for three days. I spoke with someone in the delivery office who said they could be delivered 10 days later (missing the timeline we required for delivery) and that it was out of their hands...that they were very busy. They asked if i wanted to speak with a manager...but when i said yes, they informed me that all managers were in a meeting and nobody was available. I was assured i would get a call from a manager that afternoon to resolve things. I waited more than 24 hours and no call from Teppermans. The subsequent day, I called in again and was told there were no options available for delivery until the following week. Their solution was that I pay someone to come on a Saturday and accept delivery of the units. Overall, very poor experience. Quick to make promises and a sale and slow to deliver on the promises. There are 3-4 other large appliance stores within a few minute walk and I would suggest looking elsewhere before depending on Teppermans. read more

This was my first time buying furniture and it was such a horrible experience. I asked for delivery of my sofa and from the moment the delivery team arrived they told me it wasn't going on the elevator, I asked for options and they said they would return the couch and pick a different sofa. That's it. They said 80% of the sectionals they deliver to apartments they return to the store. If you are aware that 80% of your sofas get returned because they don't fit in elevators why would you not warn me when I arranged delivery to manage expectations?! I measured everything and wasn't made aware of how many extra inches of space I needed. They returned my sofa and my family members had to drive 4 hours with a truck to pick it up and we took it up my stairs. I paid over $80 for delivery and thankfully they did refund it but I can't believe the experience I had. I have called other furniture stores and asked what they would do in the situation and all of them said they would have taken it up the stairs, a couple mentioned an additional fee but that's it. I found the customer service at Teppermans very poor and will never purchase anything from them ever again. read more

Apparently I can't post a rebuttal to noah's reply to my review. The fact is that the salesman said that the warranty would cover repair or replace the fridge with the same model. They NEVER stated it was capped at the purchase price of the original fridge, only that it would be replaced with an equivalent model. They were dishonest and ANYONE that purchases from you must be sure to read the guarantee. Your sales staff can not be trusted to accurately portray the coverage. read more

One of the worst customer service I have ever had to deal with. Bought a t.v 60 inch and the picture blew have sound but no picture. And they say there is nothing more they can do. They couldn't even help me out. Basically told me sorry about my luck. I don't work two jobs to get the things I have for nothing. I would of liked some help. Long time Tepperman's customer.... Bought 2 new couches, delivery time was set between 2:45 and 4:45. Got call from the delivery drivers that they were here @ 4:45 and to let them in. I was surprised because there was no delivery truck in the driveway. The driver proceeded to ask me where I lived and once I told them they realized that they were in the wrong location and then hung up on me. I called Teppermans back and they assured me that the furniture would arrive that evening. I finally got a call at 8:15 from a delivery employee saying the truck broke down and my furniture would not arrive. I told the person that I spoke to that I knew he was not telling me the truth because if the truck had broken down why did the driver call me and tell me he was at my house when clearly he was not. I have no issue with the mix up with the delivery I do take issue with that fact that I was lied to...Just say you messed up ....own it and ask what you can do to make it right. Mistakes happen do the right thing don't compound an error with a lie and make it worse. I will never shop their again read more
