This is really a first for me. I'm giving a 5 star review for a place I've never stepped foot in. Just before the holidays I noticed I was running low on vacuum bags and I thought since I'm in no rush for replacements I'll find some online. After a little bit of shopping I found McHardy's Vacuum had great prices on bags I wanted and shipping was cheap. Much better than heading to the store during the holiday season. Placed my order, didn't think much of it until today when the package arrived, and the reason why I'm writing this review. First of, it was quick, from across the the country over the holiday season it showed up on my door step in under a week. Second, along with my purchase they threw in a reusable shopping card and a hand written thank you card for my business and offering up any support for my future vacuum needs. I order stuff online all the time and it was this little appreciation of my business that really took me by surprise. You can tell these people value their customers and for that reason alone they could be my only supplier for all of my future vacuum related purchases. Well done guys! read more

Found McCardy Vacuums on the internet. Have a Dyson DC21 and needed new brush roller for power head. Called Dyson first but they were of NO HELP AT ALL (other than to tell that they no longer could carried parts for that model. McCardy Vacuums to the rescue. Spoke with very friendly and helpful fellow named Andrew. He knew what I needed and had it in stock. Explained it was "aftermarket" which came as no surprise to me since Dyson has completely absolved itself of any ĺcustomer responsibility on a vacuum that cost over $600 when purchased a few years ago! No more Dysons for us and would highly recommend McCardy Vacuums. Received the parts today (only 2 days after ordering) and they fit perfectly. Thank you Andrew. I ordered an item that was listed as in stock. After purchase I received an email stating that it wasn't in stock and should be a week or so. I finally cancelled the order after 3 months of waiting. They still have the item listed as "in stock" on their website. Complete waste of time. read more

Purchased a Miele C3 vacuum from McHardy 4 years ago...worked wonderfully! Had an issue recently and the warranty was honored without hesitation. Richard at the Wonderland location was exceptionally helpful and replaced the parts within 48 hours (it would have been 24 hours had it not been for the Roger's outage!) Thanks for your help. Excellent customer service. Brought my central vaccuum hose to be fixed at another store. They told me to throw it away and buy a new one. I didn't like the idea of making a 30 foot hose into more land fill. The world is disposable enough already. McHardy Vacuuum was able to locate the part that I needed (a simple fuse). They took the time an effort to find this part that no one else seemed to be able to find for me. Shipping was quick and efficient and the price was right!!! Excellent customer service. They will get all my business in the future. PS. I have actually never set foot in the actual store, but their telephone and online service was fabulous. read more

DO NOT buy from McHardy Vacuum!!! My wife and I went into their Dundas St. location to purchase a central vacuum system. We dealt with Jordan, who is the service tech. He showed us the two central vacuum brands that McHardy carries and went over the specs of both. He asked us about our home and what type of floors etc., then showed us some options. One of those was the in-wall hose system. He explained how they work and then we started talking about the prices. All said and done we decided to purchase the in-wall hose system, (one for upstairs and one for down), plus the vacuum unit of course and the regular hose. We paid 50% down on the system ($2413) When the installer, (John, very nice guy), came out and went over the installation plan, he convinced us that the already roughed in vacuum ports are not necessary if the in-wall systems were placed correctly. He recommended that we return the 30 foot regular hose and exchange the two 40 foot in-wall hoses for 50 foot at about $20 each for the extra length. He also recommended that we purchase a separate garage hose if we plan to use the central vacuum system for the cars. When I went back to McHardy to do the return and exchange Jordan was not available and I dealt with the General Manager Brandon. Short guy with glasses. When I showed him the original invoice, he asked if I would mind if he recreates it because should it be broken out better. I told him sure, go ahead. I did the return/exchange and left to get the parts back to the installer. When I got home, I took a look at the new invoice. The returned items were gone but some of the remaining items had higher prices than the original invoice and items that Jordan had thrown in on the deal, ( like $20 for extra filter bags), were now being charged for. He also tried to charge me $30 more for the vacuum unit. When I called back to question Brandon on this he just gave me the run around and told me to come into the store with both invoices and he would sort it out. When I went back in, not only was he not willing to stick to the original pricing and denied asking me if he could re-create the invoice! These people are liars and cheats, (except the installer John). Take your business elsewhere. read more

I purchased a Cordless Dyson V10 and am simply thrilled with it. There is very little weight to it which was extremely important to me!! I have purchased an upright a good number of years ago and was so pleased and amazed at how it picked up, even after vacuuming with my old one which was not a Dyson. I gave my upright Dyson to my daughter in law because as much as I tried to cope with the weight, I couldn't. I have issues with my hands, so the cordless V10 is perfect!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have two small King Charles Cavalier Spaniels who shed quite a bit so I have to vacuum every day or at least every other, rug and laminate floors. This has been a God send!! read more

I brought in my 8 year old Miele vacuum today. The polite gentleman that helped me informed me that a replacement hose would be $400+. He was able to easily unclog the hose and didn't charge me a single cent. Great customer service is hard to come by these days...it makes me happy to say that McHardy Vacuum deserves a 5 star review! read more

Just took my Dyson in for repair (per the Dyson tech support) and even though their technician was on vacation and they indicated it could take up to a week and a half (offered me a loaner), it was repaired and ready for pick up the next day! Great service is hard to find these days but McHardy's certainly take this seriously. Thank you!! read more
