Solid Mexican restaurant near the downtown area of Goodland! Great value, good portions, fast and attentive service, clean and well kept dining area, and comfortable atmosphere! Loved the complimentary chips and salsa! Chips were not just some stale generic store bought chip. We ordered off the lunch menu- $9-10 entrees. Ordered the verde enchiladas with ground beef- not my favorite green chile but good regardless! My mom had ground beef chimichanga and I think it was slightly better. read more

I have eaten here a few times over several months. The food is really good and I am a Spanish speaking South Texan! (So a bit of a Mexican food snob!) it's always crowded and a the staff moves quickly but the food consistently hits! read more

Not trust worthy. Have tried to pay for friends meals. I gave them money two times, neither time did it go to the others meal or drinks.

I last visited Tequila's in 2014 and it was just as good today! After driving 600 miles, it was nice to come in for a decent meal. Staff were friendly, chips and salsa plentiful and the beer cheap ($4.75 for an import). I had the pollo loco which was well seasoned and a filling portion for the price. I don't get out to Goodland too often, but I'll definitely return. read more

My fiancé and I have went to Tequila's Mexican Restaurant for about seven years. We actually had our first date there! First, I would like to say how lucky we are to have such a great sit down restaurant, where you can be waited on, here in Valley Center, Ks. I think Pizza Hut may be our only other full service restaurant we have here in this little town. Sure, it's not that far to go into Wichita to dine, but it's nice to stay close to home! I almost always have the Chile Rellenos. It's a large deep fried Pablano pepper stuffed with cheese, deep fried, then smothered in red sauce. They're excellent! One thing Tequila's Restaurant does offer ifs a huge menu, with a wide selection of choices for all kinds of meat, seafood, vegetarian, and even a kids menu for the little ones. I would have given five stars, but I had to deduct a star for a pet peeve of mine. There have been a couple of occasions where it tasted like the grease in the deep fryer should have been changed. It does make a huge difference and change the flavor of everything that goes in the deep fryer. Even the corn chips had a strange flavor, because they are put in the fryer for a short time to get them hot. Or, that's what I was told. All in all, Tequila's is a hit, and we're so happy they're here in Valley Center! read more

Decided to try this place out stopping through on a roadtrip, it was so so so good! The service and atmosphere were friendly and fun. The food was fresh and delicious. We ordered a pitcher of margaritas and the presentation was great. I hope to be stopping through Goodland again soon! read more

This place is great. I've had many mexican meals. My wife said the chicken enchalida verdes was the best shes had. Peppers and onions inside like they are supposed to be. Very nice staff. Nice tvs for game days. The refried beans and rice were perfect. The only thing i would change is to serve warm chips. Salsa was good too. read more

Excellent! What a hem in this town in the middle of nowhere. Our hotel manager recommended to us. Service was great friendly and right on it. The food was best Mexican I believe I have ever had. So authentic and plenty for your $. Would make a point to return if ever in town. read more

To be honest, I wasn't expecting much from a Mexican restaurant in Kansas, but I was pleasantly surprised! I has the Piña Loco and it was delicious! I thoroughly enjoyed the warm chips and fresh salsa. If I come thru this way again I will for sure be a repeat customer! read more

Waited at the door to be seated. First place I have been to that doesn't take your name and give you a wait estimate. You just stand in line and wait to be seated. Chips and salsa were great. Margarita flight was fun and delicious. I had chicken fajitas and my husband had a chicken fajita taco salad. Everything was cooked perfectly, served hot, and tasted delicious. If you are in Goodland, Kansas or passing thru, stop for a delicious meal. read more

I called ahead of time to order some taquitos. They told me 15 minutes..... I showed up 15 minutes later and they told me they were not ready yet and it would be 10 more minutes. Very sloppy and unorganized. Highly disappointed. I have a 4 Hour drive ahead of me so I don't have 10 extra minutes to spare unfortunately ....... I've never ordered from a Mexican restaurant who didn't have your food out stat. Oh well read more

Not sure if I've ever dropped five on anyone, it's a pretty high bar for me, but this place was amazing. Food was great, amazing tequila selection (as you might guess) and just solid. Bartender was either owner or manager and knew his agave. Not fancy; course it was BF Kansas (no offense Goodland, ya got a great little town but kinda out there off the beaten track). Not upscale, but certainly not a dump by any stretch. Clean, friendly attentive staff, and if I haven't mentioned, great food. I mean, Sunday night on the tail end of dinner service and still slammed, which says a bit right there. Only regret is it's pretty far off my normal route and won't be here on the regular. Staff was very friendly even though I got labeled as a non-hispanic ( I'm half and half with light skin but I speak spanish). How did you get labeled as a non-hispanic you might wonder. Well, the waitress (who was super friendly and attentive) went from speaking spanish to other customers to a slight country accent when speaking to me, even after I ordered in spanish. No this didn't make me angry, I continued to use both english and spanish, but it did sting a little. Anyway, that said let's move on to pro's and cons. Pro's: -The chilé colorado was sabroso and very picoso which I loved!!! -Staff is super friendly and attentive to customers -Clean, clean, clean restaurant Con's: - Tortillas are fake ( verified this with the waitress) - Refried beans are fake ( powder) - Apparently they decide how to speak to customers based on how they look. After a blizzard closed the 70, my husband and I had to end our day in Goodland. We decided to get some dinner at Tequila's Mexican Grill. The inside of the restaurant was so nice, wish we had stayed to eat dinner inside. The bathrooms were super clean, which is a huge plus for me! The staff were great. We ordered two burritos to go. When we arrived there was a large group in the Dining area being served but without skipping a beat we had chips and salsa and drink orders taken. Our meals were hot and tasty, a little salty for my husband but mine was good. Although the margaritas were a large volume, the alcoholic content was low. That is the only complaint we had. We stopped in Goodland, KS on a Sunday night and the desk clerk at the hotel took us that most of the local restaurants were closed on Sunday night but that there was a good Mexican restaurant not far from the hotel. Considering this was one of the only places open, I went in with low expectations. I was VERY PLEASANTLY SURPRISED. This restaurant was really good. The salsa that came with the tortilla chips was excellent and the the service was great. In fact, I've never seen food served so fast. My wife had a chimichanga - said it was excellent - while I had the pork enchiladas which were really, really good. The restaurant had a very bright, cherry decor and appeared to be a family run operation. Great food / great service / reasonable prices. read more

I wouldn't even give 1 star. Gael was our server and service was horrible. Waited 10-15 mins for our drinks then another 45-60 mins for our food. Server got both mine and my daughters order wrong. Did not come to check on us. Very displeased especially with being a regular here. read more

Stopped on the way through Goodland to get dinner. The tables are painted so beautiful it almost doesn't matter if the food is good. We try to eat vegetarian and they did have a specific vegetarian menu which was nice. I got a guacamole salad which was shredded iceberg lettuce with guacamole and chopped tomatoes on top. The lettuce was fresh and juicy. I also ordered a mushroom quesadilla which had many mushrooms and melted cheese. My husband had a rice and vegetable dish which was very tasty. We both left satisfied. The chips before the meal were stale but I didn't complain because my body doesn't need any more chips! read more

We found this hidden gem in a small town on our way home from Colorado. In Goodland, Kansas there is this charming, colorful restaurant with good Mexican food (slightly Tex-Mex but that's not a bad thing.) staff was very friendly and helpful. Restaurant was clean and wonderfully decorated with artistic Mexican flair. There was a slight odd smell near the cashier (I suspect a fountain). But... anyway... great food. The only critique would be the jalapeño dip. Way too much pickled jalapeños. The vegetarian dishes D and F were great. When we drive back through Goodland in June we'll be sure to stop by. It's worth the time... this gem shouldn't be just for the locals. read more

This place is good, but not great. For Goodland, it's a good place to eat. My family and I come here about once a month. First off, I love their décor. Their food always comes out SUPER FAST. I'm not sure whether to be really impressed or slightly concerned. We've never, ever had to wait over 10 minutes for our food to come out, and it has always been hot. I am not a fan of their fajitas, it is not strips, it is tiny 'chunks' that blend in a little too well with the vegetables. I want good sized pieces of meat when I eat fajitas, but that's just me. It is that way with both chicken and beef. No, thank you. I have had their chimichanga and it was very, very, very good. YUM! I would totally get it again. Their enchiladas are good, right on par, but not outstanding. I like their refried beans. The rice is sometimes bland, other times good. To me, that just means it is made in house and not out of a bag or something. One evening we stopped in for my birthday and my family ordered sopapillas and these were certainly NOT that. They were just fried flour tortilla quarters, like buenuelos or something. We got four small pieces for $5, Never again. Would we go back? Yes, there aren't many places to eat around here. It's not bad, but I am used to a different style of Mexican food. read more
