I only knew it was ready because others in my group were posting pics of their final products. When I did call, they couldn't find my slip so it became a hunt based on my description. After her previous preschool closed, we were fortunate to find Woodside West, and it has been one of the best decisions we've made. The teachers are incredible--kind, patient, supportive, and genuinely invested in each child's success. You can tell they truly care about the children and create a warm, welcoming environment where kids feel safe, loved, and encouraged to learn. One of the first things I noticed was how secure the campus is. The coded front gate gives me peace of mind every day, and the school's convenient location is an added bonus. My daughter came from a preschool that focused more on free outdoor play with very little structure. Since attending Woodside West, she has grown so much. The curriculum does a wonderful job preparing children for the transition to elementary school through tracing, hands-on learning activities, sensory play, and age-appropriate academics, while still making learning fun. The outdoor space is absolutely beautiful! The playground is large, well maintained, and has soft artificial turf with plenty of play structures for the kids to enjoy. During warmer weather, they also have water tables, sensory bins, and other engaging outdoor activities. And of course, Dance Friday is always a highlight of the week! You can truly see the passion the owner has for the school. Their dedication and years of experience shine through in every aspect of the program and the caring atmosphere they've created. I also recently learned they offer a Big Kids Club for school-age children during summer break, which is such a wonderful option for families. His younger brother has followed in his steps and is currently with Miss Jessica, keeping her on her toes. As our boys get older and continue to evolve, embracing their boy energy, the teachers really take the time to connect and find ways to communicate effectively with them (and us!). It really makes you feel like you're a giant parenting team. It's been the equivalent to having a second pair of mom hands. We absolutely love the teachers! Miss Jessica, Miss Mary, and Miss Allison have all been wonderful and instrumental to the growth in our boys. Diana has been a true gem of a business leader and we simply could not have done the early years without this incredible group of women. Both boys have thoroughly enjoyed their time there. [My dad worked for him in one of their many satellite offices, my sister and I met Sandy Weill in an elevator, funny story] The Weills' money is quietly invested here in the beautiful Green Music Center at Sonoma State College in a natural landscape filled with field flowers and lush grasses. The campus itself is spread out with plentiful student housing rumored to be pretty posh and spacious. Sonoma State seems to have a focus on liberal arts with a concentration in the arts and STEM. The outdoor pool adjacent to the gym is pretty good but the locker rooms are dated, cramped and dirty and in need of an overhaul. You'll see evidence of Peanuts' Charles Schulz at Sonoma State. He was a Sonoma resident as well. Nice campus, small, quiet, tucked away in wine country.

We enrolled him in 45/15 (evergreen), since the research I did shows that children retain education better when they don't have long breaks like summer. Thankfully I sold my home, moved back to west county, enrolled our son in Apple blossom and closed escrow. Phew! Lots of transition and apple blossom made the change of schools extremely non stressful! I was expecting what I went through at evergreen. What a blessing! His new teacher is AMAZING! I am thoroughly impressed with them in their entirety! The office staff are a joy and the principle makes a recognizable effort in getting to know each child and family. The computer lab just got fully updated and WOW! Bravo!! My son looks at learning as FUN, instead of a chore now and has long forgotten the terror he endured at evergreen. Thankfully he is resilient and strong! I am infinitely appreciative for this PUBLIC school! We played with the idea of putting him in Waldorf and in my opinion...This is a great balance. They even have a garden! Yayyy! And bravo again! Also, this school makes me WANT to get involved! My son's previous school had the complete opposite effect on me. Best kindergarten in Sonoma county! :)) I was even lucky enough to chaperone "the hungry catepillar" @ the Wells Fargo center. I am looking forward to the years that follow! :) Happy Monday! One recommendation for Finley would be to pull someone who is holding a class behind. Its not benefiting them in anyway and a lot of attention gets put on them leaving the rest standing(swimming) around alone. Implement a plan where someone can retake the first week of classes instead of allowing then to go on to week 2 when they're still struggling with week 1 assignments. Just be aware of this if you decide to sign up for any of their courses.
