Many tutoring centers require you to buy a package of classes before you can start, but BrightFox lets you begin with just one class. That gave us a chance to see if it was a good fit for our child without feeling pressured. It also gave me the impression that they are confident in the quality of their program. Even though the classes are 2:1, my child still receives plenty of individual attention. It really feels like one-on-one learning. One of my children had never attended a tutoring center before high school because he preferred studying on his own. At BrightFox, the teachers always welcome questions and explain concepts step by step in a way that matches each student's level. This has helped my child become much more confident in learning. What impressed me the most is that the teachers don't just give the answers. They make sure students understand why the answer is correct and continue explaining until they know the student truly understands. You can tell they genuinely care about each student's learning. After every class, we receive detailed feedback about what was covered, how our child did, and what to work on next. As a parent, I really appreciate being able to stay involved in my child's learning. I solicited few learning centers from Alamo to Dublin and landed with Brightfox for few reasons: 1. The approach is very strategic. Upon assessment of your child ability, they will come up with a REALISTIC plan without pushy 'marketing' tone that forces you to buy blocks of hours. They would ask your child to take the assessment twice to ensure consistency of results and serve as your child's ability/knowledge baseline. Then, they will set up a time with you and your child to review about timeline, targeted score and hours needed to review those areas that need improvement, inclusive lots of practice tests that I found extremely important to build the child confidence and comfort in taking the test. 2. Low ratio: 2:1 and sometimes even 1:1. One hour per Subject. 3. The hourly rate (in block discount) is far more reasonable than others that I inquired. 4. Brightfox Education user portal is very intuitive, easy to use/track and modern. 5. Administrative plus! There's always someone to respond ASAP (most of the time) or reasonable time, especially Ms. Heather, their office manager is SUPERB in providing response, flexibility, etc. Genuine interest in your child's success. 6. Facility is awesome. Clean, wide space, modern in office complex, plenty of parking and best of all, provide a welcoming sense. All in all, if you are looking a solid learning center partner, Brightfox can definitely offer you that as it did for us.

Class management was satisfying, teacher assistant reported to us how well she was doing, so we could keep tracking her progress. Later, we had a counseling meeting with their counselor and agreed that extracurricular was important but also her weakness since we didn't know much about how and what to do was good for her. Then we joined IvyMax's counseling program. I have to say, this one year so far, overall is good, even though not all the time being extremely satisfying, they have been adjusting and coordinating, willing to listen and communicate. My daughter now enjoys participating in their students actives. They have provided many volunteering opportunities and encouraged my daughter to try and challenge. I have seen how my daughter have changed!

To our surprise, many schools do not use an app. The extracurricular activities are so engaging - I like that they bring an outside coach to engage the kids in sports, Mr. George for music, and Ms Brittany for reading. The meals are also great. My son is open to eating a variety of food as a result of the meals serve at the school. In terms of academics, my almost 4 year old can count to 40, knows the ABCs and write his name. All in all, LGA makes life easy for parents, especially working parents. My son is a graduating high school senior that has good grades, participates in sports year round and worked part time during the summers throughout high school. We needed to make sure he received a good enough ACT score to give myself the best chance of getting into the universities that I was targeting. After visiting with another costly national test prep center, I learned of On Track Learning through a poster at Las Lomas High School. I contacted them and was very pleased with the plan and cost they suggested to help our son. I also appreciated the customized plan that they put together to work on what he needed for improvement. With the amazing help from On Track Learning coaches Michael and Joan, our son was able to increase his ACT score by 5 points after 5 small group sessions for the first test during the Spring of his Junior year and then another 6 points after 4 additional private sessions for the second test in the Fall of his Senior year. My advice to other parents would be to start this process much earlier during Junior year of high school so you have the score that you need by the time college applications need to be filled out during the Fall of Senior year. I'd like to give a shout-out to Dan Harrington and his staff at On-Track Learning, an academic tutoring center that made a difference in our lives this past year. Remote learning was immeasurably stressful for students and teachers alike. For my freshman in high school, learning algebra was a super-challenge. Michael tutored my son for the ACT. Michael is a fantastic tutor. He created a detailed and personalized tutoring plan for my son. More importantly, he checked in regularly with him to make sure he was on track. He was encouraging and really raised his confidence throughout the process, which is the most important factor in taking standardized test. Michael kept me in the loop on progress by email and phone calls. We were really pleased with the results. He reached the high end of his goal. I researched two other ACT tutoring companies and when I sat down with Michael and they explained their methodology, I knew it was the right place. I knew sophomore year was going to be tough for my daughter. Math and science are not really her subjects, so I was a bit concerned with Geometry and Chemistry! She started off well, but gradually her test grades started falling...along with her grades. I had seen On Track Learning and decided to give them a call. Dan quickly set up my daughter with Vivian (it was getting close to finals and we needed the help fast!). Vivian worked with my daughter 2 nights a week to bring both her grades up from a C to a B-. We continued with Vivian one night a week during second semester and it was like a lightbulb went on in my daughters head. My review is long overdue! Hiring On Track Learning to tutor my son for ACT Prep was one of the best decisions ever. My son's score increased 7 points from the practice test to the first real test! I can't say enough wonderful things about Michael Bruns. His one-on-one, hands-on method of tutoring made it possible for my son to apply to a wider range of colleges. Colleges that clearly were not on his radar prior to Michael's tutoring. Michael is a tutor who genuinely cares about his students and their academic success. do not take your kids here. stay away!!!! the owner is an unethical business man who charges people different prices. he only cares about making money. he "advised" that my son take on extra tutoring lessons; however, when i checked with my son's teacher she said that he was doing completely fine and did not need tutoring. i do not trust dan the owner bc he cares more about making his wallet fatter than the education of our young ones. do not let him fool you. unethical business owners should not be doing business in our cities, in our schools, or with the future minds of this country. dan harrington is a liar. he is not a fair and honest man. and i know this for a fact since he does not keep his prices consistent with anyone and his tutoring staff continuously changes since no one wants to be working with a con artist. do not take your kids here! read more

Over the course of the last two years, both our sons received tutoring in math and/or physics at On Track Learning. Each times, we were very happy with the quality of the tutors and the results our sons obtained. One of our sons completely Trigonometry and Pre-Calculus with them over the summer and took a placement test at Diablo Community College. He placed exactly where we wanted him to be to start Calculus. Dan, the director, is very friendly and quick to respond. It was easy and fast to schedule appointments. More recently, my son started the SAT prep with Michael. So far we are extremely pleased. The program is very well organized and Michael is an excellent tutor. My son struggled in Honor's Chemistry class last year so I searched Internet found On Track Learning center.. Dan, who runs this learning center, recommended Will, a tutor.. After having tutoring sessions with Will, my son's grade went up so my son continually met him until the end of school year. We met several tutors before On Track Learning center but they couldn't really help my son out except one tutor who was always busy. My son told me that Will always explained problems until my son understand very easy and clearly, and sometimes Will taught him more than one hour without any extra charge. Dan always replied and scheduled quickly when we needed. I really like to recommend this learning center specially Will to other people who need help. He is kind and very helpful. read more

My son was having trouble with math, and it was leading to battles at home. After a conference with his teacher, she recommended On Track Learning, and I'm so grateful she did. Two months later we see the difference that they have made! My son is more confident with math, and seems to have gained skills to help him focus better, too. Our daughter started with On Track Learning during her Junior year for ACT preparation. Initially she started in the semi-private courses which worked well for keeping her on track with the prep curriculum. During the March SIP, OTL was extremely flexible with transitioning her to private tutoring as she was determined to continue to improve her score. Her tutors were very easy to schedule and gave her good advice for where to focus her studying based on the outcomes of her ACT prep tests. I took my, then, second grader to Dan. He was in a split class with 3rd graders and was lacking confidence in math and felt he was falling behind the other kids. We have been going to OnLearning for a couple months now and have had a very consistent experience that is overwhelmingly positive. My daughter has been comfortable with each Math session and goes into her tests the next day with a feeling of confidence and the time spent has resulted in success. On top of the tutoring experience, Dan has been more then accommodating in fitting in with our changing calendar and has always had someone available to fit our schedule. read more

Dan and his team have made scheduling and hiring a tutor (who's a great fit!) an easy and seamless process, even during this pandemic. They have been accommodating and flexible with schedules and zoom meetings. With school being so irregular right now, they have been a big help to keep our son on track and focused for tests for advanced math and education regarding the prep process for SAT/ACT. Dan and his team of excellent tutors were the difference in raising my son's composite ACT score by 5 points (from a 25 to 30). This made a significant difference in college opportunities that were available to him. I believe the business may have been misled with what I am reading - several inaccuracies but I am not losing anything in this situation, so I am at peace with whatever position they choose to take in their defense. The teacher is very patient and excellent. My daughter and I really like him, and he provides honest feedback. Lois, the director, is always there and is very friendly and cares for each child under her charge. The rest of the staff cares just as much about the children too. My kids are both testing at least two grade levels above their current school level and I believe that is in great part thanks to Mathnasium. My kids love going and enjoy their time doing math there. I can't recommend Mathnasium enough.

Our…read moreoriginal plan was to stay enrolled for about 6 months to focus on math and reading, mostly for my 7 year old because I did not like common core math she was getting at school. We were going to be changing schools and wanted to make sure she was where she needed to be at the new school. After the six months we realized the kids were doing very well and learning at their pace and we decided to stick with it. It was one of the best educational decisions we have made for them. Kumon simply became part of the daily routine in our household, as the kids do packets 7 days a week. They really don't remember life before Kumon so it is just part of their routine. We strongly believe ALL kids can benefit from Kumon. Both subjects helped the kids develop exceptional study habits and they are straight A students in school. Kumon helped with reading skills (grammar, spelling, comprehension and more) and Kumon Math helped them to easily navigate what they were given in school. Beyond the educational portion, it gave them confidence and that is what I am most grateful for. Tina and her staff have always been wonderful to the kids and to us, the parents. She communicates with us on the goals and when kids are struggling with topics. She provides concrete suggestions on how to handle those occasional struggles. If you are even remotely considering Kumon, whatever the reason, I strongly recommend you enroll. Stay with it for at least six months. I really think if you do it for a year or longer you will no doubt see the benefits as we have.

During COVID, we had a smooth transition to online and packet pickup (and even spent some months in another State). And with the extra hours in the day (since there was no where to go), the extra Kumon practice was beneficial for filling in some of the hours with useful learning. An example of key learning was the completion of squares method for determining the vertex of a quadratic equation. Who knew? That method is also the basis of the proof for the discriminant method of solving more complex quadratic equations. This is covered very briefly in Algebra 1 and your student might miss the importance of this without Kumon.

The tutors are knowledgeable, patient, and take the time to explain concepts in a way that's easy to understand. Tim does a great job keeping us updated with regular progress reports and is always responsive to any questions we have. The staff is friendly and accommodating, and scheduling has consistently been smooth and flexible.
