We made a reservation several days before and on the day of, the reservation was mysteriously canceled. Quickly we made another reservation hoping this one wouldn't be cancelled. Arriving at the restaurant, we were immediately seated and then waited for almost 15 minutes before the server even came to take our drink order/food (4 x Ramen bowls, 2 x Udon bowls). As we waited, three groups who sat after us received both their drinks and food before we had received just our drinks (Bottle of Sake, a coke, a ginger ale and momoyoi). Two small groups has completely finished their meals before we had received our soup bowls. This ended with us finally getting our bill with the surprise of an automatic gratuity of 18%. We were told by the server several times that 18% was added to groups over 6, we we pointed out that we were a group of 6, she restated the 18% gratuity was for "6 or more". Unfortunately, this isn't stated anywhere in the website, see attached picture. Food: My ramen was adequate, not terrible but not great as well. Wakado, Jinya, Shiki Menya are better options

It's more of a you get what you pay for kinda thing but it's not bad at all. It's not bad quality just not something great. Service was great. I did get a rice bowl too which I don't have a photo of -- but it was served slow ish. Probably because it's not their specialty/ best seller? Ambiance wise super cute you should see their washrooms haha!!! It's so cute with all the picture frames and stuff !! The restaurant in general gives relatively cute artsy vibes lol -- the space is big which makes me think of mass production but also it might mean that the fish are in and out hence fresh ish. Anyway, verdict is: you get what you pay for but just a little better than most places with the same price range ish ~

After a long wait and no checkups, the staff act like they can't be bothered doing their jobs. It is clear that management does not provide any training or supervision. This level of incompetence does not just happen. Let us discuss the mood. This is disgusting. I have heard enough about the cockroach problem in the building and management not doing anything that I really lost my appetite sitting there. If there is chatter about pests in a restaurant and nothing changes, that's a huge red flag. Especially for a place that should meet baseline AHS standards. They managed poorly the service was also not good. Countless sushi spots in Calgary don't leave you wondering about hygiene, safety, and life choices, and most are better than this one. Stay away from here unless you enjoy being ignored and grossed out.

Downstairs is where you can see the chefs prep the sushi and sashimi. Order at the till and then you will receive a buzzer (to pick up your food when it is ready). You can grab the sushi from the lower level (basement). My better half has some very specific dietary restrictions and they were able to answer my questions, staff was polite and did notify us if any foods might be cross contaminated. The atmosphere is casual but could also be a nice place for a date. They had the patio open today which is where we sat. We ordered the sushi lovers tray $20 for 20 pieces (4 sashimi and 16 pieces of sushi). My kids don't eat spicy food so the chef was able to make our sushi tray to order (with the spicy sauces on the side), which was lovely. The chef asked about our dietary restrictions when I asked for the spice to be served on the side. Also, we ordered the spicy chicken ramen (TIP: if you are sharing with a non-spicy eater, you can order it with the spice paste on the side, which is what we ended up doing). Kids love the broth here, and it is chicken based. Some ramen places will have chicken ramen but then it will be prepared in a pork based broth, which doesn't work for us. We ordered two of the salmon sushi lovers trays, one chicken ramen, one chicken yakatori and one bbq chicken rice bowl. There is a good amount of variety on the menu, whether you are looking for a meal or more of a snack item. They do have chicken, lamb, beef, tofu, and pork on the menu along with vegetarian options.
